Die Carbamid Emulsion wird äusserlich angewendet bei trockenen und schuppenden Hauterkrankungen (leichten Verhornungsstörungen). Bei sehr trockener, rauer Haut. Sofern vom Arzt verordnet, kann die Carbamid Emulsion auch zur Langzeitbehandlung und Verhinderung von Rückfällen der Ichthyose (erbliche Verhornungsstörung der Haut) sowie Hautkrankheiten, die mit Juckreiz einhergehen, verwendet werden.
Die Carbamid Emulsion darf nicht angewendet werden bei bekannter Überempfindlichkeit auf einen der Inhaltsstoffe.
Informieren Sie Ihren Arzt, Apotheker oder Drogisten bzw. Ihre Ärztin oder Apothekerin oder Drogistin, wenn Sie an anderen Krankheiten leiden, Allergien haben oder andere Arzneimittel (auch selbstgekaufte!) einnehmen oder äusserlich anwenden!
Bei eingeschränkter Nierenfunktion (Niereninsuffizienz) soll die Anwendung nicht grossflächig erfolgen.
Auf geschädigter oder entzündeter Haut sowie im Gesicht darf die Carbamid Emulsion nur mit Vorsicht angewendet werden. Kontakt mit Augen und Schleimhäuten ist zu vermeiden. Vermeiden Sie das Auftragen von anderen äusserlich anzuwendenden Arzneimitteln oder Kosmetika auf die selben Hautpartien, die mit Carbamid Emulsion behandelt werden. Durch die Eigenschaften von Carbamid Emulsion kann die Aufnahme anderer Wirkstoffe durch die Haut erhöht sein und eventuell Nebenwirkungen hervorrufen.
Aufgrund der bisherigen Erfahrungen ist bei bestimmungsgemässer Anwendung kein Risiko für das Kind bekannt. Systematische wissenschaftliche Untersuchungen wurden aber nie durchgeführt. Vorsichtshalber sollten Sie während der Schwangerschaft und Stillzeit möglichst auf Arzneimittel verzichten oder den Arzt, den Apotheker oder Drogisten bzw. die Ärztin, die Apothekerin oder Drogistin um Rat fragen.
Tragen Sie die Carbamid Emulsion 1?2 mal täglich auf die gut gereinigte Haut auf und massieren sie leicht ein.
Für die Anwendung von Carbamid Emulsion bei trockenen und schuppenden Hauterkrankungen (leichten Verhornungsstörungen) und bei sehr trockener, rauer Haut sowie auf Verordnung des Arztes/der Ärztin zur Langzeitbehandlung und Verhinderung von Rückfällen der Ichthyosis (erbliche Verhornungsstörung der Haut) sowie Hautkrankheiten, die mit Juckreiz einhergehen, gilt grundsätzlich keine altersmässige Beschränkung. Die Anwendung bei Kindern unter 2 Jahren sollte aber nur nach Rücksprache mit einem Arzt bzw. einer Ärztin erfolgen.
Halten Sie sich an die in der Packungsbeilage angegebene oder vom Arzt oder der Ärztin verschriebene Dosierung. Wenn Sie glauben, die Carbamid Emulsion wirke zu schwach oder zu stark, so sprechen Sie mit Ihrem Arzt, Apotheker oder Drogisten bzw. mit Ihrer Ärztin, Apothekerin oder Drogistin.

Folgende Nebenwirkungen können bei der Anwendung von Carbamid Emulsion auftreten:
Überempfindlichkeiten und Hautreizungen bei Anwendung auf stark entzündeter oder geschädigter Haut sowie im Gesicht oder bei nässenden Wunden. In solchen Fällen sollten Sie den Arzt, die Ärztin aufsuchen.
Wenn Sie Nebenwirkungen bemerken, die hier nicht beschrieben sind, sollten Sie Ihren Arzt, Apotheker oder Drogisten bzw. Ihre Ärztin, Apothekerin oder Drogistin informieren.
Carbamid Emulsion darf nur bis zu dem auf dem Behälter mit EXP bezeichneten Datum verwendet werden.
Bei Raumtemperatur (15?25 °C) lagern.
Arzneimittel sollen für Kinder unerreichbar aufbewahrt werden.
