DemoPectol Bronchialsirup enthält Extrakte (Auszüge) aus Thymiankraut, Primelwurzel und Efeublättern. Diesen Pflanzen werden traditionsgemäss folgende Eigenschaften zugeschrieben: sie fördern das Abhusten von zähem Schleim aus den Luftwegen und sollen die bei Husten häufig verkrampfte Bronchialmuskulatur lösen; gleichzeitig wirken sie antiseptisch auf die Schleimhäute in den Atemwegen.
DemoPectol Bronchialsirup wird verwendet bei Husten infolge Erkältungskrankheiten der Atemwege (Bronchialkatarrh), welcher mit zäher Schleimbildung einhergeht.
Bei Erkältungshusten mit zäher Schleimbildung sollte auf eine ausreichende Flüssigkeitszufuhr geachtet werden.
Wenn der Husten länger als 7 Tage andauert, ist ein Arzt bzw. eine Ärztin zu konsultieren.
Hinweis für Diabetiker: DemoPectol Bronchialsirup enthält pro Einzeldosis von 15 ml 6,5 g Zucker, was 0,7 Brotwerten entspricht.
DemoPectol Bronchialsirup darf nicht angewendet werden bei bekannter Empfindlichkeit auf einen der Inhaltsstoffe. Vorsicht bei Neigung zu Allergien!
Bei Kleinkindern unter 2 Jahren nur nach ärztlicher Verordnung anwenden.
Fragen Sie Ihren Arzt bzw. Ihre Ärztin wenn Sie an einem Magengeschwür oder an einer Magenschleimhautentzündung (Gastritis) leiden.
Informieren Sie Ihren Arzt, Apotheker oder Drogist bzw. Ihre Ärztin, Apothekerin oder Drogistin, wenn Sie an anderen Krankheiten leiden, Allergien haben oder andere Medikamente (auch selbstgekaufte!), insbesondere gegen die oben genannten Beschwerden, einnehmen.
Auf Grund der bisherigen Erfahrung ist bei bestimmungsgemässer Anwendung des Arzneimittels kein Risiko für das Kind bekannt.
Dennoch wurden keine systematische wissenschaftliche Untersuchungen durchgeführt. Vorsichtshalber sollten Sie während einer Schwangerschaft und der Stillzeit möglichst auf Arzneimittel verzichten oder den Arzt, Apotheker oder Drogisten bzw. die Ärztin, Apothekerin oder Drogistin um Rat fragen.
Falls nicht anders vom Arzt bzw. von der Ärztin verordnet
Erwachsene und Jugendliche über 12 Jahren: 4× täglich 15 ml mit dem beigelegten Messbecher während oder nach den Mahlzeiten einnehmen.
Kinder über 2 Jahren: 4× täglich 5 ml mit dem beigelegten Messbecher während oder nach den Mahlzeiten einnehmen.
Halten Sie sich an die in der Packungsbeilage angegebene oder vom Arzt oder der Ärztin verschriebene Dosierung. Wenn Sie glauben, das Arzneimittel wirke zu schwach oder zu stark, so sprechen Sie mit Ihrem Arzt, Apotheker oder Drogisten bzw. mit Ihrer Ärztin, Apothekerin oder Drogistin.
Folgende Nebenwirkungen können bei der Anwendung von DemoPectol Bronchialsirup auftreten: selten leichte Magen- und Darm-Beschwerden oder Übelkeit. Andere Nebenwirkungen wurden bisher bei vorschriftsmässiger Anwendung nicht beobachtet.
Wenn Sie Nebenwirkungen bemerken, die hier nicht beschrieben sind, sollten Sie Ihren Arzt, Apotheker oder Drogisten bzw. Ihre Ärztin, Apothekerin oder Drogistin informieren.
DemoPectol Bronchialsirup ist ausserhalb der Reichweite von Kindern und bei Raumtemperatur (15?25 °C) aufzubewahren. Das Arzneimittel darf nur bis zu dem auf dem Behälter mit «EXP» bezeichneten Datum verwendet werden.

15 ml enthalten als Wirkstoffe 198,2 mg Thymiankraut-Trockenextrakt (DER 7?13:1; Auszugsmittel: Wasser), 39 mg Primelwurzel-Trockenextrakt (DER 4?9:1; Auszugsmittel = Alkohol 40% m/m), 15,55 mg Efeublätter-Trockenextrakt (DER 6?7:1; Auszugsmittel = Alkohol 40% m/m).
Das Präparat enthält Hilfsstoffe sowie 6,5 g Zucker (Saccharose), die Konservierungsmittel Methyl- und Propylparaben (E 218, E 216), Sorbinsäure (E 200) und Kaliumsorbat (E 202) und den Farbstoff: Caramel (E 150).
