Alucol bindet und neutralisiert überschüssige Säure im Magen und beseitigt die dadurch verursachten Beschwerden. Seine Wirkung setzt rasch und nachhaltig ein.
Alucol wird hauptsächlich bei folgenden Beschwerden eingenommen:
-saures Aufstossen,
-Magenbrennen (Sodbrennen).
Alucol gibt es als Kautabletten (Pfefferminzaroma) und Gel (Pfefferminzaroma und Fruchtaroma).
Hinweis für Diabetiker
Alucol enthält Sorbitol und Saccharin. Alucol ist somit zuckerfrei und deshalb unter Anrechnung der Kalorien für Diabetiker bzw. Diabetikerinnen geeignet. Alucol enthält 0.4 g verwertbare Kohlenhydrate pro 5 ml Gel oder pro Kautablette. Dies entspricht 0.04 Broteinheiten (BE) pro 5 ml Gel oder pro Kautablette. 5 ml Alucol Gel entsprechen ca. 1.7 kcal oder 7 kJ; 1 Alucol Kautablette entspricht ca. 1.5 kcal oder 6 kJ.
Bei Überempfindlichkeit gegenüber den Wirkstoffen oder einem der Hilfsstoffe des Arzneimittels (gemäss «Was ist in Alucol enthalten?») sowie bei einer schweren Störung der Nierenfunktion (Niereninsuffizienz) und bei Durchfall darf Alucol nicht eingenommen werden.
Alucol Gel enthält 5 Vol.-% Alkohol. Es darf bei Kindern und Jugendlichen nicht angewendet werden.
Alucol darf nicht länger als 2 Wochen ohne ärztliche Konsultation eingenommen werden. Bei länger anhaltenden und/oder in häufigen Abständen wiederkehrenden Beschwerden muss ein Arzt oder eine Ärztin untersuchen, ob eine schwerwiegende Krankheit vorliegen könnte. Auch sollte Alucol nicht über längere Zeiträume ohne ärztliche Kontrolle eingenommen werden, weil es bei einer langfristigen Anwendung zu einer Veränderung der Blutsalze, insbesondere Kalzium und Phosphat, kommen kann.
Bitte nehmen Sie Alucol Gel und Alucol Kautabletten erst nach Rücksprache mit Ihrem Arzt resp. Ihrer Ärztin ein, wenn Ihnen bekannt ist, dass Sie unter einer Unverträglichkeit gegenüber bestimmten Zuckern leiden.
Die gleichzeitige Einnahme von Alucol kann die Aufnahme von vielen anderen Arzneimitteln vermindern. Deshalb sollten andere Arzneimittel immer 2 Stunden früher oder später eingenommen werden als Alucol.
Alucol kann die Wirkung von einigen anderen Arzneimitteln, z.B. von Tetrazyklin-Antibiotika und anderen Antibiotika, Herzglykosiden und anderen Arzneimitteln (z.B. Eisen, Anticholinergika, Diflunisal, Naproxen, Indometacin) durch das in Alucol enthaltene Aluminiumhydroxid beeinflussen, falls die Einnahme zum gleichen Zeitpunkt erfolgt.
Informieren Sie Ihren Arzt, Apotheker oder Drogisten bzw. Ihre Ärztin, Apothekerin oder Drogistin wenn Sie an anderen Krankheiten leiden, Allergien haben oder andere Arzneimittel (auch selbst gekaufte!) einnehmen oder äusserlich anwenden!
In der Schwangerschaft und Stillzeit dürfen Sie Alucol nicht einnehmen, es sei denn auf ärztliche Verschreibung.
Erwachsene
Alucol Gel: 1?2 Messlöffel oder ½?1 Beutel ½?1 Std. nach dem Essen oder beim Auftreten von Beschwerden.
Maximale Tagesdosis: 8 Messlöffel oder 4 Beutel. Vor Gebrauch gut schütteln.
Alucol Kautabletten: 1?2 Kautabletten ½?1 Std. nach dem Essen oder beim Auftreten von Beschwerden fein zerkauen oder langsam im Mund zergehen lassen.
Maximale Tagesdosis: 4?8 Kautabletten.
Die Anwendung und Sicherheit bei Kindern und Jugendlichen ist bisher nicht systematisch geprüft worden.
Halten Sie sich an die in der Packungsbeilage angegebene oder vom Arzt bzw. von der Ärztin verschriebene Dosierung. Wenn Sie glauben, das Arzneimittel wirke zu schwach oder zu stark, so sprechen Sie mit Ihrem Arzt, Apotheker oder Drogisten bzw. mit Ihrer Ärztin, Apothekerin oder Drogistin.
Das Arzneimittel kann die Stuhlkonsistenz verändern (Verstopfung, Stuhlerweichung, Durchfall). Gelegentlich können Aufstossen und Blähungen auftreten.
Falls unter der empfohlenen Dosierung derartige Erscheinungen auftreten, sollte die Dosis reduziert werden.
Bei lang andauernder Anwendung kann es zu einer Veränderung der Blutsalze, insbesondere Kalzium und Phosphat, kommen.
Bei Patienten mit eingeschränkter Nierenfunktion kann es bei lang andauernder Anwendung zu erhöhten Aluminiumblutspiegeln kommen. Deshalb muss bei diesen Patientinnen und Patienten der Arzt bzw. die Ärztin regelmässig die Aluminiumblutspiegel kontrollieren.
Wenn Sie Nebenwirkungen bemerken, die hier nicht beschrieben sind, sollten Sie Ihren Arzt, Apotheker oder Drogisten bzw. Ihre Ärztin, Apothekerin oder Drogistin informieren.
Das Arzneimittel darf nur bis zu dem auf dem Behälter mit «EXP» bezeichneten Datum verwendet werden.
Alucol ausserhalb der Reichweite von Kindern und bei Raumtemperatur (15-25 °C) lagern.
Angebrochene Packungen Alucol Gel (130 ml und 500 ml Flaschen) sind 8 Wochen haltbar.

Alucol Gel
5 ml Gel (= 1 Messlöffel oder ½ Beutel) enthalten:
Wirkstoffe: 375 mg Aluminiumhydroxid und 175 mg Magnesiumhydroxid.
Hilfsstoffe: Als Süssstoffe sind Saccharin und Sorbitol enthalten. Alkohol 5 Vol.-%, Konservierungsmittel E216, E218 (Methyl-/Propylparaben), Aromastoffe (u.a. Bergamottöl und Vanillin für Fruchtaroma) sowie weitere Hilfsstoffe.

1 Kautablette enthält:
Wirkstoffe: 540 mg Aluminiumhydroxid und 180 mg Magnesiumhydroxid.
Hilfsstoffe: Als Süssstoffe sind Saccharin und Sorbitol enthalten. Aromastoff (Pfefferminzöl) sowie weitere Hilfsstoffe.
