Tebokan 120 enthält Trockenextrakt (EGb 761) aus Ginkgo-biloba-Blättern. Der Ginkgo-Spezialextrakt EGb 761 verbessert die Fliesseigenschaften des Blutes und erhöht die Strömungsgeschwindigkeit, besonders im Bereich kleiner und kleinster Blutgefässe.
Nach ärztlicher Untersuchung wird Tebokan 120 eingesetzt bei der symptomatischen Behandlung des Abbaus der geistigen Leistungsfähigkeit (z.B. Gedächtnisstörungen, Konzentrationsstörungen).
Nach ärztlicher Untersuchung kann Tebokan 120 als Zusatzbehandlung angewendet werden bei Claudicatio intermittens («Schaufensterkrankheit»). Dabei handelt es sich um das Auftreten von Wadenschmerzen beim Gehen, verursacht durch mangelhafte Durchblutung der Beine. Tebokan 120 bewirkt, nach Ausschöpfung der physikalisch-therapeutischen Massnahmen, insbesondere Gehtraining, eine Verlängerung der schmerzfreien Gehstrecke.
Tebokan 120 kann angewendet werden bei Vertigo und Tinnitus (Schwindel, Ohrgeräusche infolge von Durchblutungsstörungen).
Bevor die Behandlung mit Tebokan 120 begonnen wird, sollte geklärt werden ob die Krankheitssymptome nicht auf einer spezifisch zu behandelnden Grunderkrankung beruhen.
Häufig auftretende Schwindelgefühle und Ohrensausen bedürfen grundsätzlich der Abklärung durch den Arzt. Bei plötzlich auftretender Schwerhörigkeit bzw. einem Hörverlust sollte unverzüglich ein Arzt aufgesucht werden.
Wenn die Beschwerden nicht innerhalb einer angemessenen Zeit nachlassen, sollten Sie Ihren Arzt oder Ihre Ärztin um Rat fragen.
Bei bekannter Überempfindlichkeit gegen Ginkgo-biloba-Extrakte oder Hilfsstoffe darf Tebokan 120 nicht angewendet werden.
Zur Anwendung dieses Arzneimittels bei Kindern und Jugendlichen liegen keine ausreichenden Untersuchungen vor. Es soll deshalb bei Kindern und Jugendlichen unter 18 Jahren nicht angewendet werden.
Insbesondere bei Langzeitanwendung wurde über Einzelfälle von Blutungen berichtet (deren ursächlicher Zusammenhang mit der Einnahme von Ginkgo-Zubereitungen bisher nicht eindeutig gesichert ist). Eine Wechselwirkung mit Arzneimitteln, die die Blutgerinnung hemmen, kann nicht ausgeschlossen werden. Über die Einnahme vor operativen Eingriffen ist der Arzt oder die Ärztin zu befragen bzw. zu informieren. Informieren Sie Ihren Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. Ihre Ärztin oder Apothekerin, wenn Sie
Aufgrund der bisherigen Erfahrungen ist bei bestimmungsgemässer Anwendung kein Risiko für das Kind bekannt. Systematische wissenschaftliche Untersuchungen wurden aber nie durchgeführt. Vorsichtshalber sollten Sie während der Schwangerschaft und Stillzeit möglichst auf Arzneimittel verzichten oder den Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. die Ärztin oder Apothekerin um Rat fragen.
Wenn vom Arzt nicht anders verordnet, nehmen Sie jeweils morgens und abends je 1 Filmtablette unzerkaut mit etwas Flüssigkeit ein. Die Einnahme kann unabhängig von den Mahlzeiten erfolgen. Bei der Einnahme von Ginkgohaltigen Arzneimitteln können sehr selten leichte Magen-Darm-Beschwerden, Kopfschmerzen oder allergische Reaktionen der Haut (Hautrötung, -schwellung, Juckreiz) auftreten.
Bei Langzeitanwendung wurde über Einzelfälle von Blutungen berichtet.
