Bei Husten sollten Sie gänzlich auf das Rauchen verzichten und alle Situationen meiden, die einen Hustenreiz erzeugen können (starke Temperatur- und Feuchtigkeitsschwankungen).
Tossamin Sirup sollte nicht eingenommen werden,
Dieses Arzneimittel kann die Reaktionsfähigkeit, die Fahrtüchtigkeit und Fähigkeit, Werkzeuge und Maschinen zu bedienen, beeinträchtigen! Dies gilt in verstärktem Masse bei gleichzeitiger Einnahme von Alkohol.

Tossamin darf während der Schwangerschaft nicht eingenommen werden. Noscapin und Codein gehen in die Muttermilch über; von einer Anwendung während der Stillzeit ist daher abzusehen.
Erwachsene und Jugendliche ab 12 Jahren: morgens und abends, falls erforderlich morgens, mittags und abends, je 2 Dosierlöffel Hustensaft. Die maximale Tagesdosis beträgt für Erwachsene und Jugendliche ab 12 Jahren 50 ml (10 Dosierlöffel).
Tossamin Sirup darf bei Kindern bis 12 Jahren nur auf ärztliche Verschreibung angewendet werden.
Kinder von 6-12 Jahren: morgens und abends, falls erforderlich morgens, mittags und abends, je 1 Dosierlöffel Hustensaft. Die maximale Tagesdosis beträgt für Kinder ab 6 Jahren 25 ml (5 Dosierlöffel).
Kinder von 3-6 Jahren: morgens und abends, falls erforderlich morgens, mittags und abends, je 1/2 Dosierlöffel Hustensaft.
Kinder von 2-3 Jahren: morgens und abends, falls erforderlich morgens, mittags und abends, je 1/4 Dosierlöffel Hustensaft.
Die maximale Tagesdosis beträgt für Kinder von 2-6 Jahren 12,5 ml (2.5 Dosierlöffel).
1 Dosierlöffel entspricht 5 ml Tossamin Hustensaft.
Tossamin kann vor, mit oder nach den Mahlzeiten eingenommen werden.
Halten Sie sich an die in der Packungsbeilage angegebene oder vom Arzt oder der Ärztin verschriebene Dosierung. Wenn Sie glauben, das Arzneimittel wirke zu schwach oder zu stark, so sprechen Sie mit lhrem Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. mit lhrer Ärztin oder Apothekerin.
Folgende Nebenwirkungen können bei der Einnahme von Tossamin auftreten:
Häufig: Verstopfung, Übelkeit und Müdigkeit.
Seltener: Kopfschmerzen, Schwindel, Drucksteigerung in den Gallenwegen, allergische Reaktionen (Hautausschlag).
Sehr selten: Allergische Reaktionen bis hin zu Kreislaufreaktionen und Atemnot. In diesen Fällen sollten Sie die Einnahme von Tossamin Sirup sofort absetzen und einen Arzt bzw. eine Ärztin aufsuchen.
Wenn Sie Nebenwirkungen bemerken, die hier nicht beschrieben sind, sollten Sie lhren Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. lhre Ärztin oder Apothekerin informieren.
Wie alle Arzneimittel, ist Tossamin für Kinder unerreichbar aufzubewahren.
Bei Raumtemperatur (15-25 °C) lagern.
Die im Tossamin Hustensaft sichtbaren Schwebeteilchen sind Noscapin-Mikrokapseln und sind keine Anzeichen einer Zersetzung. Vor Gebrauch sollte der Saft zur gleichmässigen Verteilung der Mikrokapseln kurz geschüttelt werden.
Das Arzneimittel darf nur bis zu dem auf dem Behälter mit «EXP» bezeichneten Datum verwendet werden.
Nach Ablauf dieses Datums sollte die Flasche lhrem Apotheker zur Vernichtung zurückgebracht werden.
Weitere Auskünfte erteilt Ihnen lhr Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. lhre Ärztin oder Apothekerin. Diese Personen verfügen über die ausführliche Fachinformation.
