Mag 2 bzw. Mag 2 Forte enthalten das lebensnotwendige Element Magnesium in Form von Pidolat. Es vermag die Symptome eines Magnesiummangels im Organismus zu korrigieren, die sich in neuromuskulärer Übererregbarkeit (Muskelkrämpfe), Herzrhythmusstörungen oder Magen-Darm-Krämpfen äussern können.
Ferner wird es angewendet:
Bei Überempfindlichkeit auf Magnesiumpidolat oder einen der Hilfsstoffe, bei schweren Nierenfunktionsstörungen, oder bei akuten Infektionen der Harnwege dürfen Sie Mag 2 bzw. Mag 2 Forte nicht einnehmen.
Mag 2 in Trinkampullen enthält den Azofarbstoff E110. Patienten mit bekannter Überempfindlichkeit gegen Azofarbstoffe, Acetylsalicylsäure, Antirheumatika und Schmerzmittel (Prostaglandinhemmer) dürfen diese Lösung nicht anwenden.
Wenn Sie zur Bildung von Calcium-Magnesium-Ammoniumphosphat-Steinen neigen, sowie bei grossem Flüssigkeitsverlust (z.B. durch starkes Erbrechen, starken Durchfall oder bei hohem Fieber) dürfen Sie Mag 2 bzw. Mag 2 Forte ebenfalls nicht einnehmen.
Bei bestimmten Herzrhytmusstörungen und mässig eingeschränkter Nierenfunktion ist Vorsicht geboten (es sind Blutuntersuchungen notwendig und ev. muss die Dosierung angepasst werden).
Falls Sie gewisse Antibiotika (Tetrazykline) zur Behandlung von Infektionskrankheiten oder gewisse Arzneimittel gegen Osteoporose (Bisphosphonate) einnehmen, dann soll die Einnahme von Mag 2 bzw. Mag 2 Forte um mindestens 3 Stunden versetzt erfolgen.
Mag 2 bzw. Mag 2 Forte dürfen Sie nicht gleichzeitig mit hochdosierten kalziumhaltigen und/oder eisenhaltigen Arzneimitteln einnehmen (die Einnahme sollte um etwa 3 Stunden versetzt werden).
Die gleichzeitige Einnahme von Mag 2 bzw. Mag 2 Forte und Vitamin D kann einen zu hohen Kalziumgehalt im Blut bewirken.
Informieren Sie Ihren Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. Ihre Ärztin oder Apothekerin, wenn Sie
Mag 2 bzw. Mag 2 Forte dürfen während der Schwangerschaft und in der Stillzeit eingenommen werden. Auf Grund der bisherigen Erfahrung ist bei bestimmungsgemässer Anwendung kein Risiko für das Kind bekannt.
Die Dauer der Behandlung beträgt im Allgemeinen 3-6 Wochen um ein Magnesiumdefizit auszugleichen
Die Mag 2 Lösung in Trinkampullen enthält 7 mg Glucose pro Ampulle und ist für Diabetiker geeignet.

Bemerkung über die Anwendungsmöglichkeit
Trinkampullen vor Gebrauch schütteln. Der Inhalt kann unverdünnt oder mit etwas Flüssigkeit verdünnt getrunken werden. Die zubereitete Lösung resp. die Ampullen sind am besten zu einer Mahlzeit einzunehmen.
Bei den Pulverbeuteln ist der Inhalt in ein Glas zu leeren und unter ständigem Rühren Wasser hinzuzugeben.
Ändern Sie nicht von sich aus die verschriebene Dosierung. Wenn Sie glauben, das Arzneimittel wirke zu schwach oder zu stark, so sprechen Sie mit Ihrem Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. mit Ihrer Ärztin oder Apothekerin.
Folgende Nebenwirkungen können bei der Einnahme von Mag 2 bzw. Mag 2 Forte auftreten: Gelegentlich können Verdauungsstörungen wie Durchfall und Bauchschmerzen auftreten. Diese Effekte können eventuell durch eine zu hohe Dosierung oder eine Unverträglichkeit auf einen Inhaltsstoff verursacht werden.
Wenn Sie Nebenwirkungen bemerken, die hier nicht beschrieben sind, sollten Sie Ihren Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. Ihre Ärztin oder Apothekerin informieren.
Mag 2 bzw. Mag 2 Forte darf nur bis zu dem auf dem Behälter mit «EXP» bezeichneten Datum verwendet werden, bei Raumtemperatur (15-25°C) und ausserhalb der Reichweite von Kindern aufbewahren.
