Chlorhexidin im Plak-Out Liquid unterstützt die Mundhygiene indem die Entstehung bakterieller Zahnbeläge gehemmt wird.
Übermässige Plaquebildung ist nicht nur unhygienisch. Die bakteriellen Beläge können auch entzündetes, blutendes, gerötetes und schmerzhaftes Zahnfleisch verursachen.
Eine mangelhafte oder erschwerte mechanische Mundhygiene führt zu Bakterienablagerungen auf den Zahnoberflächen.
Plak-Out Mundspülungen sind angezeigt bei vernachlässigtem Gebiss, bei Zahnbettentzündung, bei hohem Zahnzerfall und bei erschwerter Mundhygiene.
Die Anwendung von Plak-Out Liquid ersetzt nicht die mechanische Zahnreinigung, kann sie jedoch unterstützen.
Plak-Out Liquid enthält Chlorhexidin, das in sehr seltenen Fällen Allergien auslöst. Typische Zeichen sind Juckreiz, allgemeine Hautrötung, Nesselfieber, Asthma oder vereinzelt Kreislaufreaktionen. Sie erfordern umgehend ärztliche Behandlung. Bei bekannter Allergie auf Chlorhexidin sowie bei Überempfindlichkeit gegen einen der Inhaltsstoffe dürfen Sie Plak-Out Liquid nicht anwenden.
Ein unbeabsichtigtes Verschlucken der Spüllösung ist unbedenklich, da Chlorhexidin im Magen-Darm-Trakt nicht aufgenommen wird.
Das Chlorhexidin-Spülwasser ist wegen der Gefahr seiner Inaktivierung nicht mit Zahnpasten oder andern Spülmitteln zu kombinieren.
Es wird empfohlen, bei Vorliegen einer Wurzelhautentzündung das Präparat mit Vorsicht anzuwenden.
Informieren Sie Ihren Arzt, Apotheker oder Drogisten bzw. Ihre Ärztin, Apothekerin oder Drogistin, wenn Sie an anderen Krankheiten leiden, Allergien haben oder andere Arzneimittel (auch selbstgekaufte!) einnehmen oder äusserlich anwenden!
Plak-Out Liquid darf während der Schwangerschaft oder Stillzeit nicht angewendet werden, es sei denn auf ärztliche Verschreibung.
Falls vom Arzt bzw. der Ärztin nicht anders verordnet, werden die Spüllösungen wie folgt hergestellt:
0,05%
2 Tropfen Konzentrat aus der Tropfflasche in den 10 ml Messbecher übertragen und bis zur Strichmarke mit Wasser füllen;
0,1%
4 Tropfen auf 10 ml Wasser;
0,15%
6 Tropfen auf 10 ml Wasser;
0,2%
8 Tropfen auf 10 ml Wasser.
Die Spülungen erfolgen morgens und abends nach dem Zähneputzen. Die ersten Spülungen erfolgen mit einer 0,05%- Lösung während 15 Sekunden. Danach wird ausgespuckt.
Meist kann schon an den folgenden Tagen die Konzentration auf 0,1% und dann auf 0,15% erhöht werden. Ebenso ist die Spüldauer auf 3?4 Minuten ausdehnbar.
Bei akuten Infektionen der Mundhöhle (Mundfäule) sind die Spülungen möglichst rasch auf eine 0,2%ige Plak-Out Konzentration zu bringen, bis 3mal täglich.
Bei entzündeten Schleimhautveränderungen oder hohem Zahnzerfall wird mit 0,1% Chlorhexidin zu spülen begonnen, 3mal täglich. Die Konzentration wird auf 0,15% bzw. 0,2% gesteigert.
Die Anwendung und Sicherheit von Plak-Out Liquid wurde bei Kindern und Jugendlichen unter 18 Jahren nicht geprüft.
Plak-Out Liquid sollte ohne ärztliche oder zahnärztliche Empfehlung nicht länger als 2 Wochen ohne Unterbrechung angewendet werden.
Halten Sie sich an die in der Packungsbeilage angegebene oder vom Arzt oder der Ärztin verschriebene Dosierung. Wenn Sie glauben, das Arzneimittel wirke zu schwach oder zu stark, so sprechen Sie mit Ihrem Arzt, Apotheker oder Drogisten bzw. mit Ihrer Ärztin, Apothekerin oder Drogistin.
Folgende Nebenwirkungen können bei der Anwendung von Plak-Out Liquid auftreten:
Gelegentlich treten bis zwei Stunden dauernde Geschmacksstörungen auf. Häufig sind Braunfärbungen der Zunge beobachtbar. Sie sind ungefährlich und ein kosmetisches Problem.
Bei langfristiger Anwendung kommt es häufig zu einer Zahnverfärbung, welche sich in den meisten Fällen nach Ende der Anwendung des Präparates zurückbildet.
Allmählich sich bildende gelb-bräunliche Ablagerungen in den Zahnzwischenräumen sind durch den Zahnarzt oder die Dentalhygienikerin leicht entfernbar.
Wenn Sie Nebenwirkungen bemerken, die hier nicht beschrieben sind, sollten Sie Ihren Arzt, Apotheker oder Drogisten bzw. Ihre Ärztin, Apothekerin oder Drogistin informieren.
Das Arzneimittel darf nur bis zu dem auf dem Behälter mit «EXP» bezeichneten Datum verwendet werden. Das Arzneimittel ist ausser Reichweite von Kindern und bei Raumtemperatur (15?25 °C) zu lagern.
