Amlodipin Actavis wird alleine oder zusammen mit anderen Arzneimitteln zur Behandlung eines Sauerstoffmangels im Herzmuskel, der sogenannten Angina pectoris, eingesetzt. Eine einmal tägliche Einnahme von Amlodipin Actavis steigert die Belastungszeit und verringert die Anzahl der Angina pectoris Anfälle.
Amlodipin Actavis darf bei Überempfindlichkeit auf den Wirkstoff des Präparates, auf einen der Inhaltsstoffe oder auf andere Dihydropyridine nicht eingenommen werden.
Dieses Arzneimittel kann aufgrund der möglichen Nebenwirkungen die Reaktionsfähigkeit, die Fahrtüchtigkeit und Fähigkeit, Werkzeuge oder Maschinen zu bedienen, beeinträchtigen.
Amlodipin Actavis sollte nicht zusammen mit Grapefruit oder Grapefruitsaft eingenommen werden, da dies zu einer verstärkten Blutdrucksenkung führen kann.

Während einer Amlodipin Actavis Therapie darf nicht gestillt werden.
Wenn von Ihrem Arzt bzw. von Ihrer Ärztin nicht anders verordnet, sollen Sie anfänglich einmal täglich eine Tablette Amlodipin Actavis 5 mg einnehmen. Ihr Arzt bzw. Ihre Ärztin wird entscheiden, ob Sie die tägliche Dosis bis auf eine Maximaldosis von 10 mg steigern sollen.
Wenn eine Überdosis Amlodipin Actavis eingenommen wurde, müssen Sie sich unverzüglich in ärztliche Behandlung begeben.
Ändern Sie nicht von sich aus die verschriebene Dosierung. Wenn Sie glauben, das Arzneimittel wirke zu schwach oder zu stark, so sprechen Sie mit Ihrem Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. mit Ihrer Ärztin oder Apothekerin.
Folgende Nebenwirkungen können bei der Einnahme von Amlodipin Actavis auftreten:
Sehr häufig: Ödeme (Wasseransammlungen in den Geweben).
Häufig: Kopfschmerzen, Schwindel, Müdigkeit, Schläfrigkeit, Übelkeit, Bauchschmerzen, Gesichtsrötung, Herzklopfen.
Gelegentlich: Schlaflosigkeit, Stimmungsschwankungen, Zittern, Geschmacksstörungen, Ohnmacht, verminderte Empfindlichkeit für Sinnesreize, Fehlempfindungen auf der Haut (Ameisenlaufen), Sehbeinträchtigungen, Tinnitus (Ohrgeräusch), zu tiefer Blutdruck, Atemnot, laufende oder verstopfte Nase, Erbrechen, Verdauungsstörungen, veränderte Stuhlgewohnheiten, trockener Mund, Haarausfall, Hautverfärbung, verstärktes Schwitzen, Hautausschlag, Juckreiz, Gelenk-, Muskel- und Rückenschmerzen, Muskelkrampf, Störungen beim Wasserlassen, vermehrtes oder nächtliches Wasserlassen, Erektionsstörungen, Vergrösserung der Brustdrüsen, Kraftlosigkeit, Schmerz, Unwohlsein, Gewichtszunahme oder -abnahme.
Allergische Reaktionen einschliesslich Hautausschlag, Lichtempfindlichkeit und Schwellungen im Gesicht wurden ebenfalls gelegentlich beobachtet. In diesen Fällen ist die Therapie abzubrechen und unmittelbar ein Arzt bzw. eine Ärztin aufzusuchen.
Sehr selten: Muskelsteifigkeit oder ?Anspannung, Erkrankungen der Nerven in den Gliedmassen, entzündliche Reaktionen der kleinen Blutgefässe, Husten, Magenschleimhautentzündung, Zahnfleischwucherungen, Leberprobleme (Leberentzündung, Gelbsucht) oder Probleme mit der Bauchspeicheldrüse.
Mit unbestimmter Häufigkeit wurde auch berichtet über Störungen des Bewegungsablaufes, verbunden z.B. mit erhöhtem oder vermindertem Spannungszustand der Muskeln.
Falls Sie an den oben genannten oder anderen unerwünschten Wirkungen leiden, sollten Sie Ihren Arzt bzw. Ihre Ärztin informieren.

Amlodipin Actavis muss in der Originalverpackung bei Raumtemperatur (15-25 °C) und ausserhalb der Reichweite von Kindern aufbewahrt werden.
Amlodipin Actavis darf nur bis zu dem auf dem Behälter mit «EXP:» bezeichneten Datum verwendet werden.
