Phosphonorm bindet das mit der Nahrung zugeführte Phosphat im Dünndarm. Dadurch wird einem erhöhten Phosphatspiegel im Blut entgegengewirkt.
Bei Erwachsenen auf Verschreibung des Arztes oder der Ärztin.
Wenn der Phosphatspiegel zu niedrig ist (Hypophosphatämie) oder bei allgemeiner Aluminiumanreicherung im Organismus sollte Phosphonorm nicht eingenommen werden. Ihr Arzt oder die Ärztin kontrolliert regelmässig Ihren Phosphatspiegel und passt die Dosierung entsprechend an. Ebenso darf Phosphonorm nicht bei Säuglingen und auch nicht bei Verstopfung und bei bekannten Verengungen im Dickdarm (Stenosen) angewendet werden.
Die Wirkung von Tetrazyclinantibiotika und andere Arzneimitteln (z.B. Herzglykosiden, Eisenpräparaten, Gallensteinlösern, Antimykotika (Ketoconazol) und Anticholinergika) kann beeinflusst werden, falls die Einnahme zum gleichen Zeitpunkt erfolgt. Es ist deshalb ein zeitlicher Abstand von zwei Stunden zwischen der Einnahme von Phosphonorm und diesen Medikamenten einzuhalten.
Informieren Sie Ihren Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. Ihre Ärztin oder Apothekerin, wenn Sie an anderen Krankheiten leiden, Allergien haben oder andere Arzneimittel (auch selbstgekaufte!) einnehmen!
Bei Kindern und Jugendlichen soll Phosphonorm nicht angewendet werden, da die Anwendungserfahrung unzureichend ist.
Die Einnahme von Phosphonorm während der Schwangerschaft und Stillzeit ist kritisch abzuwägen und nur auf Verschreibung des Arztes oder der Ärztin erlaubt.
Die Dosierung richtet sich nach der Höhe des Phosphatspiegels und somit nach der Anordnung des Arztes oder der Ärztin. Die durchschnittliche Dosierung beträgt 3-6 Kapseln pro Tag.
Die Kapseln sollten unzerkaut über den Tag verteilt kurz vor den Mahlzeiten eingenommen werden. Ändern Sie nicht von sich aus die verschriebene Dosierung. Wenn sie glauben, das Arzneimittel wirke zu schwach oder zu stark, so sprechen Sie mit Ihrem Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. mit Ihrer Ärztin oder Apothekerin.
Nach Gabe hoher Dosen über einen längeren Zeitraum kann es bei fortgeschrittener Niereninsuffizienz zu einem erhöhten Aluminiumspiegel im Blut, zu Aluminiumeinlagerungen vor allem im Knochen- und Nervengewebe und längerfristig in seltenen Fällen zu Vergiftungserscheinungen kommen. Eine Aluminiumvergiftung kann sich in unzureichender Verkalkung der Knochen und daher in Knochenschmerzen und spontanen Knochenbrüchen (Osteomalazie), Hirnleistungsstörungen (Encephalopathie), Blutbildveränderungen und Muskelerkrankungen (proximale Myopathie) äussern.
Der Plasmaaluminiumspiegel sollte daher bei Langzeitpatienten regelmässig überprüft werden.
Ferner kann Phosphonorm stopfend wirken.
Wenn Sie Nebenwirkungen bemerken, die hier nicht beschrieben sind, sollten Sie Ihren Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. Ihre Ärztin oder Apothekerin informieren.
Das Arzneimittel darf nur bis zu dem auf der Packung mit «EXP» bezeichneten Datum verwendet werden.
Bei Raumtemperatur (15?25 °C) lagern.
