Acetalgin® enthält den Wirkstoff Paracetamol, der schmerzlindernd und fiebersenkend wirkt.
Acetalgin® wird angewendet zur kurzfristigen Behandlung von Kopfschmerzen, Zahnschmerzen, Schmerzen im Bereich von Gelenken und Bändern, Rückenschmerzen, Schmerzen während der Monatsblutung, Schmerzen nach Verletzungen (z.B. Sportverletzungen), Schmerzen bei Erkältungskrankheiten sowie gegen Fieber.
Wie alle Fieber- und Schmerzmittel soll auch Acetalgin® nicht ohne Verordnung des Arztes oder der Ärztin länger als 5 Tage oder bei Fieber länger als 3 Tage angewendet werden.
Schmerzmittel sollen nicht ohne ärztliche Kontrolle über längere Zeit regelmässig eingenommen werden. Längerdauernde Schmerzen bedürfen einer ärztlichen Abklärung.
Um das Risiko einer Überdosierung zu verhindern, soll sichergestellt werden, dass andere verabreichte Medikamente kein Paracetamol enthalten.
Die vom Arzt oder von der Ärztin verschriebene Dosierung darf nicht überschritten werden.
Es ist auch zu bedenken, dass die langdauernde Einnahme von Schmerzmitteln ihrerseits dazu beitragen kann, dass Kopfschmerzen weiterbestehen.
Die langfristige Einnahme von Schmerzmitteln, insbesondere bei Kombination mehrerer schmerzstillender Wirkstoffe, kann zur dauerhaften Nierenschädigung mit dem Risiko eines Nierenversagens führen.
Bei Überempfindlichkeit auf den Wirkstoff Paracetamol. Eine solche Überempfindlichkeit äussert sich z.B. durch Asthma, Atemnot, Kreislaufbeschwerden, Schwellungen der Haut und Schleimhäute oder Hautausschläge (Nesselfieber).
Bei schweren Leber- oder Nierenerkrankungen.
Bei Alkoholüberkonsum.
Bei einer erblichen Leberstörung (sogenannte Meulengracht-Krankheit).
Bei vorgeschädigter Niere oder Leber sollten Sie vor Einnahme Ihren Arzt bzw. Ihre Ärztin konsultieren. Bei einer seltenen erblichen Krankheit der roten Blutkörperchen, dem sogenannten «Glucose-6-Phosphat-Dehydrogenase-Mangel», sowie beim gleichzeitigen Gebrauch von Arzneimitteln, welche die Leber beeinflussen, namentlich gewisse Mittel gegen Tuberkulose und Anfallsleiden (Epilepsie) oder bei Arzneimitteln mit dem Wirkstoff Zidovudin, die bei Immunschwäche (AIDS) eingesetzt werden, soll die Anwendung nur nach strengen Anweisungen des Arztes oder der Ärztin erfolgen.
Informieren Sie Ihren Arzt bzw. Ihre Ärztin, falls Sie blutverdünnende Mittel (z.B. Marcoumar) einnehmen müssen.
Von der gleichzeitigen Einnahme von Acetalgin® und Alkohol ist abzuraten. Besonders bei fehlender gleichzeitiger Nahrungsaufnahme erhöht sich die Gefahr einer Leberschädigung.
Bei Essstörungen wie Anorexie, Bulimie und sehr starker Abmagerung sowie bei chronischer Mangelernährung ist Vorsicht geboten bei der Anwendung von Acetalgin®.
Bei Flüssigkeitsmangel und verminderten Mengen an Blut ist ebenfalls Vorsicht geboten bei der Anwendung von Acetalgin®.
Einzelne Personen mit Überempfindlichkeit auf Schmerz- oder Rheumamittel können auch auf Paracetamol überempfindlich reagieren (siehe ??Welche Nebenwirkungen kann Acetalgin® haben???).
Informieren Sie Ihren Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. Ihre Ärztin oder Apothekerin, wenn Sie an anderen Krankheiten leiden, Allergien haben oder andere Arzneimittel (auch selbstgekaufte!) einnehmen oder äusserlich anwenden!
Vorsichtshalber sollten Sie während der Schwangerschaft und Stillzeit möglichst auf Arzneimittel verzichten oder Ihren Arzt, Apotheker oder Drogisten bzw. Ihre Ärztin, Apothekerin oder Drogistin um Rat fragen.
Paracetamol ist ein Wirkstoff, der bei kurzfristiger Anwendung in der angegebenen Dosierung auch in der Schwangerschaft verwendet werden kann.
Obwohl Paracetamol in sehr geringen Mengen in der Muttermilch auftritt, darf gestillt werden.
Einzeldosen nicht häufiger als alle 4-6 Stunden verabreichen.
Erwachsene und Jugendliche ab 12 Jahren und über 40 kg Körpergewicht:
1-2 Tabletten oder 1-2 Zäpfchen 500 mg nach Bedarf, bis zu 4-mal täglich.
Die maximale Tagesdosierung beträgt 8 Tabletten oder 8 Zäpfchen 500 mg (=4 g Paracetamol).
Kinder 9-12 Jahre und 30 ? 40 kg Körpergewicht:
1 Tablette oder 1 Zäpfchen 500 mg nach Bedarf, bis zu 4-mal täglich.
Die maximale Tagesdosierung beträgt 4 Tabletten oder 4 Zäpfchen 500 mg (= 2 g Paracetamol).
Kinder 6-9 Jahre und 22-30 kg Körpergewicht:
½-1 Tablette oder 1 Zäpfchen 500 mg nach Bedarf, bis zu 3-mal täglich.
Die maximale Tagesdosierung beträgt 3 Tabletten oder 3 Zäpfchen 500 mg (=1.5 g Paracetamol).
Kinder 3-6 Jahre und 15-22 kg Körpergewicht:
1 Zäpfchen 250 mg nach Bedarf, bis zu 4-mal täglich.
Die maximale Tagesdosis beträgt 4 Zäpfchen 250 mg (=1 g Paracetamol).
Kinder 1-3 Jahre und 10-15 kg Körpergewicht:
1 Zäpfchen 250 mg nach Bedarf, bis zu 3-mal täglich.
Die maximale Tagesdosis beträgt 3 Zäpfchen 250 mg (=750 mg Paracetamol).
Säuglinge und Kleinkinder 6-12 Monate und 7-10 kg Körpergewicht:
1 Zäpfchen 125 mg nach Bedarf, bis zu 4-mal täglich.
Die maximale Tagesdosis beträgt 4 Zäpfchen 125 mg (= 500 mg Paracetamol).

Acetalgin® Tabletten sind für Kinder unter 6 Jahren nicht geeignet;
für diese Altersgruppe werden Suppositorien empfohlen.
Die Tabletten mit einem Glas Flüssigkeit einnehmen.
Halten Sie sich an die in der Packungsbeilage angegebene oder vom Arzt oder der Ärztin verschriebene Dosierung. Wenn Sie glauben, das Arzneimittel wirke zu schwach oder zu stark, so sprechen Sie mit Ihrem Arzt, Apotheker oder Drogisten bzw. mit Ihrer Ärztin, Apothekerin oder Drogistin.
Folgende Nebenwirkungen können bei der Einnahme von Acetalgin® auftreten:
Seltene Überempfindlichkeitsreaktionen wie Schwellungen der Haut und Schleimhäute oder Hautausschläge, bis hin zu schweren Hautreaktionen (sehr selten), Übelkeit, Atemnot oder Asthma. Treten Zeichen einer Überempfindlichkeit auf, so ist das Arzneimittel abzusetzen und der Arzt oder die Ärztin zu konsultieren.
Ausserdem wurden Veränderungen des Blutbildes, wie eine verringerte Anzahl von Blutplättchen (Thrombozytopenie) oder eine starke Verminderung bestimmter weisser Blutkörperchen (Agranulozytose) beobachtet.
Wenn Sie Nebenwirkungen bemerken, die hier nicht beschrieben sind, sollten Sie Ihren Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. Ihre Ärztin oder Apothekerin informieren.
Die Tabletten bei Raumtemperatur (15-25 °C) an einem trockenen Ort und ausser Reichweite von Kindern aufbewahren.
