Diazepam Desitin ist ein Arzneimittel, das auf Verschreibung des Arztes oder der Ärztin gegen Krampfen eingesetzt wird. Diazepam wirkt krampflösend bei epileptischen Anfällen oder Fieberkrämpfen.
Diazepam Desitin sollte nicht angewendet werden bei bekannter Überempfindlichkeit gegen Diazepam oder einem anderen Arzneimittel der gleichen Wirkstoffgruppe (Benzodiazepine) oder einem Hilfsstoff gemäss Zusammensetzung.
Wenn Sie unter Muskelschwäche (Myasthenia gravis), schweren Atembeschwerden, nächtlichem Erwachen wegen Unterbrechung der Atmung (Schlafapnoe-Syndrom) oder Lebererkrankungen leiden, dürfen Sie Diazepam Desitin ebenfalls nicht anwenden.
Dieses Arzneimittel kann die Reaktionsfähigkeit, die Fahrtüchtigkeit und die Fähigkeit, Werkzeuge oder Maschinen zu bedienen, beeinträchtigen! Sie sollten deshalb unter Diazepam Desitin kein Motorfahrzeug lenken und keine gefährlichen Maschinen bedienen.
Diazepam Desitin kann die Wirkung von Alkohol oder anderer dämpfender Arzneimittel, wie beruhigende Mittel, Schlafmittel, krampflösende Mittel (gegen Epilepsie) oder Schmerzmittel verstärken.
Verzichten Sie deshalb während der Behandlung am besten ganz auf akoholische Getränke.
Andere auf das Gehirn wirkende Arzneimittel (zum Beispiel Beruhigungsmittel, Schlafmittel, Mittel gegen Depressionen, verschiedene Schmerzmittel, Arzneimittel gegen Anfallsleiden (Antiepileptika) oder muskelrelaxierende Mittel), ebenso gewisse Arzneimittel gegen Magen-Ulkus, Tuberkulose, Pilzerkrankungen, Asthma oder zur Alkoholentwöhnung und Diazepam Desitin können einander unter Umständen beeinflussen. Solche Arzneimittel dürfen Sie deshalb nur dann zusammen mit Diazepam Desitin einnehmen, wenn Ihr Arzt bzw. Ihre Ärztin damit einverstanden ist. Sagen Sie es Ihrem Arzt bzw. Ihrer Ärztin, wenn Sie an einer Herzkrankheit oder an Atemschwierigkeiten leiden.
Während der Schwangerschaft soll auf Diazepam Desitin verzichtet werden, ausser wenn der Arzt oder die Ärztin es für absolut unerlässlich hält und es Ihnen trotzdem ausdrücklich verschreibt. Die Anwendung wurde mit schädigenden Wirkungen auf das Ungeborene in Verbindung gebracht.
Während der Stillzeit sollen Sie Diazepam Desitin nicht anwenden, da Diazepam Desitin und seine Stoffwechselprodukte in die Muttermilch übergehen. Ist die Behandlung unausweichlich, soll abgestillt werden.
Die normale Dosierung für Erwachsene beträgt in der Regel 1 rectal tube zu 5 mg oder 10 mg.
Bei älteren und schwachen Patienten bzw. Patientinnen sollte die Dosis 5 mg pro Tag nicht überschreiten.
In jedem Fall legt der Arzt oder die Ärztin die für Sie oder für Ihr Kind notwendige Dosierung fest.
Ändern Sie deshalb nicht von sich aus die verschriebene Dosierung. Wenn Sie glauben das Arzneimittel wirke zu schwach oder zu stark, so sprechen Sie mit Ihrem Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. mit Ihrer Ärztin oder Apothekerin.
Anwendungshinweise
Die Lösung wird rektal verabreicht.
Kinder möglichst in Bauch- oder Seitenlage, Erwachsene in Seitenlage bringen. Der Inhalt einer rectal tube soll jeweils komplett verabreicht werden.
| 1. |  | Verschlusskappe drehen und abnehmen. |
| 2. |  | Die ganze Länge der rectal- tube-Spitze in den After einführen (bei Kleinstkindern nur ca. bis zur Hälfte); rectal tube dabei mit der Spitze senkrecht nach unten halten. Den Inhalt der rectal tube durch kräftigen Druck mit Daumen und Zeigefinger komplett entleeren. |
| 3. |  | Unter fortgesetztem Zusammendrücken rectal tube herausziehen, um ein Zurücksaugen der Lösung zu verhindern. Anschliessend dem Patienten bzw. der Patientin einige Zeit die Gesässbacken zusammendrücken. |
Folgende Nebenwirkungen können bei der Anwendung von Diazepam Desitin auftreten:
Besonders bei hohen Dosen oder am Anfang der Behandlung können Schläfrigkeit, Mattigkeit, Benommenheit, verlängerte Reaktionszeit, Muskelschwäche und unsicherer Gang (Sturzgefahr) auftreten.
Im Weiteren sind folgende Nebenwirkungen beobachtet worden: Verwirrtheit, Koordinationsstörungen, Bewusstseinstrübung, reduzierte Aufmerksamkeit, Herz-Kreislauf-Störungen, Gelbsucht, Verstopfung, Depression, Sehstörungen (zum Beispiel Doppeltsehen), undeutliche Aussprache, Kopfschmerzen, niedriger Blutdruck, Blasenstörungen, Sexualschwäche, Übelkeit, Mundtrockenheit oder vermehrter Speichelfluss, Hautausschläge, Zittern, Schwindel, Gedächtnisstörungen, paradoxe Reaktionen wie Unruhe, Rastlosigkeit, Angst, Alpträume, Halluzinationen, Reizbarkeit, Wut, Aggressivität, Wahnvorstellungen, ungewöhnliches Verhalten können auftreten. Treten solche Erscheinungen auf, sollten Sie Ihren Arzt bzw. Ihre Ärztin benachrichtigen.
Wenn Sie Nebenwirkungen bemerken, die hier nicht beschrieben sind, sollten Sie Ihren Arzt, oder Apotheker bzw. Ihre Ärztin oder Apothekerin informieren.
Wie alle Arzneimittel ist Diazepam Desitin für Kinderhand unerreichbar aufzubewahren.
Das Arzneimittel darf nur bis zu dem auf dem Behälter mit «Verwendbar bis» bezeichneten Datum verwendet werden.
Weitere Auskünfte erteilt Ihnen Ihr Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. Ihre Ärztin oder Apothekerin. Diese Personen verfügen über die ausführliche Fachinformation.
Diazepam Desitin bei Raumtemperatur (15?25 °C) aufbewahren.
Ein Diazepam Desitin rectal tube 5 mg enthält 5 mg Diazepam als Wirkstoff.
Hilfsstoffe: Konservierungsmittel: Benzoesäure (E 210), Natriumbenzoat (E 211), Benzylalkohol, Propylenglycol (Lösungsmittel) und andere Hilfsstoffe. Die Lösung enthält: 12 Vol-% Alkohol.
Ein Diazepam Desitin rectal tube 10 mg enthält 10 mg Diazepam als Wirkstoff.
