Fluimucil Erkältungshusten enthält den Wirkstoff Acetylcystein. Dieser Wirkstoff verflüssigt und löst den zähen, festsitzenden Schleim in den Luftwegen und fördert den Auswurf.
Das auf der Schleimhaut der Atemwege vorhandene Sekret spielt eine wichtige Rolle bei der Abwehr von eingeatmeten Schadstoffen, wie Bakterien, Staub und chemischen Verunreinigungen. Diese Reizstoffe werden im Sekret festgehalten, wo sie unschädlich gemacht und mit dem Auswurf ausgeschieden werden.
Durch die schleimlösende Wirkung von Fluimucil Erkältungshusten verflüssigt sich der zähe Schleim und kann besser abgehustet werden. Dadurch wird die Gefahr einer Infektion vermindert. Bei freien Atemwegen lässt der Husten nach, und die Atmung wird erleichtert.
Fluimucil Erkältungshusten eignet sich deshalb zur Behandlung von Erkältungshusten mit übermässiger Schleimbildung.
Die Wirkung von Fluimucil Erkältungshusten wird durch reichliches Trinken gefördert. Rauchen trägt zur übermässigen Bildung von Bronchialschleim bei. Durch Verzicht auf das Rauchen können Sie die Wirkung von Fluimucil Erkältungshusten unterstützen.
Diabetiker dürfen Fluimucil Erkältungshusten Fertigsirup einnehmen, da keine diabetogenen Süssstoffe enthalten sind.
Fluimucil Erkältungshusten darf bei bekannter Überempfindlichkeit gegenüber dem Wirkstoff Acetylcystein oder einem anderen Inhaltsstoff (z.B. bei sogenannter Paragruppenallergie gegenüber dem Hilfsstoff Methyl-4-hydroxybenzoat [E218] oder bei Überempfindlichkeit gegenüber dem Konservierungsmittel Natriumbenzoat [E211]), bei Magen- und Darmgeschwüren und bei Vorliegen einer seltenen angeborenen Stoffwechselkrankheit (sogenannte Phenylketonurie), die eine strikte Diät erfordert, nicht eingenommen werden. Fluimucil Erkältungshusten darf des Weiteren nicht eingenommen werden bei Vorliegen einer seltenen angeborenen Krankheit des Zuckerstoffwechsels (Fructose-Unverträglichkeit).
Fluimucil Erkältungshusten sollte auch nicht zusammen mit hustenstillenden Arzneimitteln (Antitussiva) eingenommen werden, da durch diese Arzneimittel der Husten und die natürliche Selbstreinigung der Atemwege unterdrückt werden, wodurch das Abhusten des verflüssigten Schleims beeinträchtigt wird und es zu einem Stau des Bronchialschleims mit Gefahr von Bronchialkrämpfen und Infektionen der Atemwege kommen kann. Ihr Arzt bzw. Ihre Ärztin wissen, was in solchen Fällen zu tun ist.
Fluimucil Erkältungshusten darf nicht bei Kleinkindern unter 2 Jahren angewendet werden.
Die Anwendung von Fluimucil Erkältungshusten kann, insbesondere zu Beginn der Behandlung, zu einer Verflüssigung und damit zu einer Volumensteigerung des Bronchialsekrets führen. Ist der Patient nicht in der Lage dieses ausreichend abzuhusten, wird der Arzt bzw. die Ärztin geeignete Massnahmen durchführen.
Falls Sie bei einer früheren Einnahme eines Arzneimittels mit dem gleichen Wirkstoff, wie ihn Fluimucil Erkältungshusten enthält, Ausschläge oder Atembeschwerden beobachtet haben, sollten Sie unbedingt Ihren Arzt, Apotheker oder Drogisten bzw. Ihre Ärztin, Apothekerin oder Drogistin darüber informieren, bevor Sie mit der Einnahme des Arzneimittels beginnen.
Die gleichzeitige Verwendung gewisser anderer Arzneimittel kann zu einer gegenseitigen Beeinflussung der Wirkung führen. So kann die Wirksamkeit gewisser Mittel gegen Durchblutungsstörungen der Herzkranzgefässe (z.B. Nitroglycerin bei Angina pectoris) verstärkt werden. Die gleichzeitige Verabreichung von hustenstillenden Arzneimitteln (Antitussiva) kann die Wirkung von Fluimucil Erkältungshusten beeinträchtigen (siehe oben: «Wann darf Fluimucil Erkältungshusten nicht eingenommen werden?»).
Des Weiteren sollten Sie Antibiotika nicht gleichzeitig mit Fluimucil Erkältungshusten einnehmen, sondern in einem zeitlichen Abstand von mindestens 2 Stunden. Informieren Sie Ihren Arzt, Apotheker oder Drogisten bzw. Ihre Ärztin, Apothekerin oder Drogistin, wenn Sie an anderen Krankheiten leiden, Allergien haben oder andere Arzneimittel (auch selbstgekaufte!) einnehmen oder äusserlich anwenden.
Auf Grund der bisherigen Erfahrungen ist bei bestimmungsgemässer Anwendung kein Risiko für das Kind bekannt. Systematische wissenschaftliche Untersuchungen wurden aber nie durchgeführt. Vorsichtshalber sollten Sie während der Schwangerschaft und Stillzeit möglichst auf Arzneimittel verzichten oder den Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. die Ärztin oder Apothekerin um Rat fragen.
Es liegen keine Informationen zur Ausscheidung von Acetylcystein in die Muttermilch vor. Daher sollten Sie Fluimucil Erkältungshusten während der Stillzeit nur anwenden, wenn Ihr behandelnder Arzt bzw. Ärztin dies für notwendig erachtet.
Falls nicht anders verordnet, beträgt die übliche Dosierung bei akuten Erkrankungen:
?Kinder von 2 bis 12 Jahren: 3-mal täglich 5 ml Fertigsirup oder 2-mal täglich 200 mg (1 Brausetablette, 1 Beutel Granulat oder 1 Lingualtablette zu 200 mg).
?Jugendliche über 12 Jahre und Erwachsene: 600 mg täglich, verteilt auf eine (1 Brausetablette, 1 Beutel Granulat zu 600 mg oder 1 Tablette) oder mehrere Gaben (z.B. 3-mal 10 ml Fertigsirup, 1 Brausetablette, 1 Beutel Granulat oder 1 Lingualtablette zu 200 mg).
Bei Husten, der länger als 2 Wochen anhält, muss ein Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. eine Ärztin oder Apothekerin beigezogen werden.
Lösen Sie die Brausetablette oder das Granulat in einem Glas kaltem oder heissem Wasser auf und trinken Sie es sofort. Lösen Sie nicht gleichzeitig andere Arzneimittel mit Fluimucil Erkältungshusten im Wasser auf, denn dadurch kann die Wirksamkeit sowohl von Fluimucil Erkältungshusten als auch der anderen Arzneimittel beeinträchtigt oder aufgehoben werden.
Die Lingualtabletten auf die Zunge legen. Sie zerfallen auf der Zungenoberfläche innert 2 Minuten; für die Einnahme ist keine Flüssigkeit notwendig.
Die Anzahl ml Fertigsirup werden mit dem der Packung beigelegten Messbecher abgemessen.
Die Tabletten unzerkaut mit etwas Flüssigkeit einnehmen.
Beim Aufreissen des Beutels oder des Blisters ist ein leichter Schwefelgeruch wahrnehmbar. Dieser ist typisch für den Wirkstoff Acetylcystein und beeinflusst dessen Wirkung nicht.
Halten Sie sich an die in der Packungsbeilage angegebene oder vom Arzt oder der Ärztin verschriebene Dosierung. Wenn Sie glauben, das Arzneimittel wirke zu schwach oder zu stark, so sprechen Sie mit Ihrem Arzt, Apotheker oder Drogisten bzw. mit Ihrer Ärztin, Apothekerin oder Drogistin.
Folgende Nebenwirkungen können bei der Einnahme von Fluimucil auftreten: Magen-Darm-Störungen wie Erbrechen, Durchfall, Übelkeit, Bauchschmerzen oder Entzündungen der Mundschleimhaut, sowie Überempfindlichkeitsreaktionen, Nesselsucht, Kopfschmerzen und Fieber. Im Weiteren können beschleunigter Puls, tiefer Blutdruck und Ohrgeräusche, Sodbrennen, sowie Blutungen und Wasseransammlungen im Gesicht vorkommen.
Es können auch allergische Erscheinungen allgemeiner Art (wie z.B. Hautausschläge oder Juckreiz) auftreten. Sollten die Überempfindlichkeitsreaktionen auch Atembeschwerden und Bronchialkrämpfe auslösen, was in seltenen Fällen geschehen kann, so müssen Sie die Behandlung mit Fluimucil Erkältungshusten sofort abbrechen und einen Arzt bzw. eine Ärztin aufsuchen.
Der Atem kann vorübergehend einen unangenehmen Geruch bekommen. Wenn Sie Nebenwirkungen bemerken, die hier nicht beschrieben sind, sollten Sie Ihren Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. Ihre Ärztin oder Apothekerin informieren.
Bei Raumtemperatur (15?25 °C), vor Licht und Feuchtigkeit geschützt und für Kinder unzugänglich aufbewahren.
Einmal geöffnet ist Fluimucil Erkältungshusten Fertigsirup 15 Tage bei Raumtemperatur (15?25 °C) haltbar.
Das Arzneimittel darf nur bis zu dem auf dem Behälter mit «EXP» bezeichneten Datum verwendet werden.
Weitere Auskünfte erteilt Ihnen Ihr Arzt, Apotheker oder Drogist bzw. Ihre Ärztin, Apothekerin oder Drogistin. Diese Personen verfügen über die ausführliche Fachinformation.
1 Beutel Granulat enthält 200 mg oder 600 mg Acetylcystein; Hilfsstoffe: Aspartam, Sorbitol und Aromastoffe.

Fertigsirup mit Himbeergeschmack enthält (pro 5 ml) den Wirkstoff Acetylcystein 100 mg, die Hilfsstoffe Saccharinum (Natrii Saccharinum), Natriumcyclamat (Natrii Cyclamas), Aromastoffe, die Konservierungsmittel Methyl-4-hydroxybenzoat (E218) und Natriumbenzoat (E211) sowie weitere Hilfsstoffe.
1 Tablette enthält 600 mg Acetylcystein sowie Hilfsstoffe
