Rical ist ein pflanzliches Heilmittel auf der Basis von raffiniertem Rizinusöl. Rizinusöl wird gewonnen aus den Samen von Ricinus communis L., zu deutsch: Wunderbaum, auch Christuspalme genannt. Dieser wurde schon im alten Ägypten kultiviert und Öl aus seinen Samen wird seit langem in Europa als Abführmittel verwendet. Rizinusöl weicht harten Stuhl auf und fördert die Darmtätigkeit. Die abführende Wirkung erfolgt bei der empfohlenen Dosierung frühestens nach 8 Stunden. Rical kann verwendet werden zur kurzfristigen Anwendung bei gelegentlicher Verstopfung.
Wenn Sie an Verstopfung leiden, sollten Sie ballaststoffreiche Nahrung (Gemüse, Früchte, Vollkornprodukte) sowie viel Flüssigkeit einnehmen und für ausreichende körperliche Bewegung sorgen.
Nicht angewendet werden darf Rical bei allen Erkrankungen des Magen-Darm-Traktes, Störungen des Wasser- und Mineralstoffhaushaltes sowie bei bekannter Überempfindlichkeit auf einen der Inhaltsstoffe (siehe Zusammensetzung).
Kindern unter 12 Jahren darf Rical nur unter ärztlicher Verordnung verabreicht werden.
Abführmittel sollen wegen einer möglichen Gewöhnung nur gelegentlich und nicht länger als zwei Wochen eingenommen werden. Bei chronischem Gebrauch/Missbrauch oder Anwendung höherer als der empfohlenen Dosen können Durchfälle mit Wasserverlust und Störungen des Salzhaushaltes (insbesondere Kaliumverlust) auftreten. Deshalb ist besondere Vorsicht geboten bei Patienten die gleichzeitig bestimmte wassertreibende Medikamente (Diuretika), Arzneimittel mit Süssholzwurzel, Kortikosteroide, gewisse Antihistaminika (wie Terfenadin), Arzneimittel bei Herzmuskelschwäche (Herzglykoside wie Dogoxin) sowie bestimmte Arzneimittel bei Herzrhythmusstörungen (Antiarrhytmika) einnehmen. Die Aufnahme von fettlöslichen Vitaminen kann gehemmt werden. Langzeitbehandlungen gehören unter ärztliche Kontrolle.
Informieren Sie Ihren Arzt, Apotheker oder Drogisten, bzw. Ärztin, Apothekerin oder Drogistin, wenn Sie an anderen Krankheiten leiden, Allergien haben oder andere Medikamente (auch selbstgekaufte!) einnehmen oder äusserlich anwenden (Externa)!
In der Schwangerschaft und während der Stillzeit darf Rical nur nach Rücksprache mit dem Arzt bzw. der Ärztin eingenommen wirden.
Soweit nicht anders verordnet, nehmen Erwachsene und Kinder über 12 Jahre täglich 1 bis 5 Kapseln mit etwas Flüssigkeit ein. Beginnen Sie mit 1?2 Kapseln und passen Sie die folgende Dosierung der Wirkung an. Die optimale Dosierung ist die geringste, die erforderlich ist, um einen weichgeformten Stuhl zu erhalten. Die Einnahme erfolgt am besten morgens auf nüchternen Magen. Halten Sie sich an die in der Packungsbeilage angegebene oder vom Arzt bzw. Ihrer Ärztin verschriebene Dosierung. Wenn Sie glauben, das Medikament wirke zu schwach oder zu stark, so sprechen Sie mit Ihrem Arzt, Apotheker oder Drogisten bzw. Ihrer Ärztin, Apothekerin oder Drogistin.
Sehr selten können Hautausschläge auftreten. In diesem Fall sollten Sie das Präparat nicht mehr einnehmen und gegebenenfalls einen Arzt konsultieren. In seltenen Fällen kann das Präparat Blähungen oder Bauchkrämpfe verursachen. Wenn Sie Nebenwirkungen bemerken, die hier nicht beschrieben sind, sollten Sie Ihren Arzt, Apotheker oder Drogisten, bzw. Ihre Ärztin, Apothekerin oder Drogistin informieren.
Arzneimittel bei Raumtemperatur (15?25 °C) und für Kinder unerreichbar aufbewahren. Das Medikament darf nur bis zu dem auf dem Behälter mit «EXP» bezeichneten Datum verwendet werden. Weitere Auskünfte erteilt Ihnen Ihr Arzt, Apotheker oder Drogist bzw. Ihre Ärztin, Apothekerin oder Drogistin, welche über die ausführliche Fachinformation verfügen.
