Zantic ist ein Arzneimittel gegen Krankheiten, welche durch eine übermässige Säureproduktion im Magen verursacht werden: z.B. Magen- und Zwölffingerdarmgeschwüre, Refluxkrankheit (Sodbrennen). Zantic wird ebenfalls zur Behandlung gewisser immer wiederkehrender Verdauungsstörungen eingesetzt, welche mit Schmerzen in der Oberbauchgegend oder hinter dem Brustbein auftreten.
Zantic soll nur auf Verschreibung des Arztes bzw. der Ärztin hin eingenommen werden.
Bei Überempfindlichkeit gegenüber dem Wirkstoff oder einem Hilfsstoff von Zantic darf dieses nicht eingenommen werden.
Bei eingeschränkter Nierenfunktion muss die Dosierung durch den Arzt bzw. die Ärztin angepasst werden.
Zantic kann die Wirkung anderer Arzneimittel beeinflussen, z.B. gewisser Arzneimittel zur Behandlung von HIV-Infektionen.
Informieren Sie Ihren Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. Ihre Ärztin oder Apothekerin, wenn Sie an anderen Krankheiten leiden, Allergien haben oder andere Arzneimittel (auch selbstgekaufte!) einnehmen oder äusserlich anwenden.
Aufgrund der bisherigen Erfahrungen ist bei bestimmungsmässiger Anwendung kein Risiko für das Kind bekannt. Vorsichtshalber sollten Sie während der Schwangerschaft und der Stillzeit möglichst auf Arzneimittel verzichten oder den Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. die Ärztin oder Apothekerin um Rat fragen.
Die Dosierung von Zantic wird durch den Arzt bzw. die Ärztin in Abhängigkeit der Krankheit festgelegt. Das Arzneimittel muss während der ganzen vom Arzt bzw. der Ärztin empfohlenen Zeitdauer eingenommen werden; ein Abklingen der Beschwerden ist nicht unbedingt mit einer Abheilung der Krankheit gleichzusetzen.
Erwachsene: Die übliche Dosis beträgt 2× täglich 150 mg (am Morgen und vor dem Schlafengehen, unabhängig von den Essenszeiten) oder 1× täglich 300 mg (vor dem Schlafengehen).
In schweren Fällen kann der Arzt oder die Ärztin die Dosis auf 2× täglich 300 mg erhöhen.
Bei mittelschwerer bis schwerer Refluxösophagitis (Sodbrennen) kann die Dosierung bis 4× täglich 150 mg betragen.
Kinder: Die übliche Dosis beträgt 2× täglich 2?4 mg pro kg Körpergewicht, bis zu einer Maximaldosis von 300 mg täglich.
Die Filmtabletten sollen ganz geschluckt werden, da sie sehr bitter sind.
Ändern Sie nicht von sich aus die verschriebene Dosierung. Wenn Sie glauben, das Arzneimittel wirke zu schwach oder zu stark, so sprechen Sie mit Ihrem Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. mit Ihrer Ärztin oder Apothekerin.
Folgende Nebenwirkungen können bei der Einnahme von Zantic auftreten:
Gelegentlich kann es zu leichten, meist vorübergehenden Störungen wie Kopfschmerzen, Schwindel, Müdigkeit, Durchfall oder Verstopfung, Übelkeit, Hautausschlag oder Veränderungen der Leberfunktionswerte kommen.
Selten wurden Überempfindlichkeitsreaktionen verschiedenster Art beschrieben.
Sehr selten können Bewegungsstörungen oder Zittern, verschwommenes Sehen, Gelenk- und Muskelschmerzen, Haarausfall, Impotenz, Gelbsucht, Niedergeschlagenheit, Verwirrtheitszustände, Blutbildveränderungen, Vergrösserung oder Spannungsgefühl in den Brüsten, Milchfluss sowie eine Verlangsamung oder Veränderungen des Herzschlages auftreten.
Ihr Arzt bzw. Ihre Ärztin sollte so rasch als möglich unterrichtet werden, falls eine Leberentzündung auftreten sollte. Diese könnte sich über eines oder mehrere folgender Symptome äussern: Übelkeit, Erbrechen, Appetitverlust, allgemeines Unwohlsein, Fieber, Juckreiz, Gelbfärbung der Haut und der Augen sowie dunkel gefärbter Urin.
Sollten Schwierigkeiten beim Atmen, Engegefühl in der Brust, ein Anschwellen der Lippen, der Augenlider oder des Gesichtes, Hautausschläge, Nesselfieber, schwere Magenschmerzen bzw. eine Veränderung der Art der zu behandelnden Schmerzen auftreten oder sollten Sie plötzlich verwirrt sein, müssen Sie ebenfalls unverzüglich den Arzt bzw. die Ärztin informieren und nur auf dessen/deren ausdrückliche Anweisung die Einnahme von Zantic fortsetzen.
Falls weitere Nebenwirkungen auftreten, bei denen Sie einen Zusammenhang mit der Einnahme von Zantic vermuten, sollten Sie unverzüglich Ihren Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. Ihre Ärztin oder Apothekerin konsultieren.
Zantic Filmtabletten sind unter 30 °C und ausser Reichweite von Kindern aufzubewahren.
Das Arzneimittel darf nur bis zu dem auf dem Behälter mit «EXP» bezeichneten Datum verwendet werden.
Weitere Auskünfte erteilt Ihnen Ihr Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. Ihre Ärztin oder Apothekerin. Diese Personen verfügen über die ausführliche Fachinformation.
