Acyclovir-Mepha ist ein Arzneimittel gegen das Herpesvirus. Der Wirkstoff von Acyclovir-Mepha hemmt die Vermehrung der Herpesviren ohne die normalen Stoffwechselvorgänge zu beeinträchtigen. Die Herpesviren bewirken auf Haut und Schleimhhaut Bläschenbildung.
Die Tabletten werden bei ausgedehntem Hautbefall, bei Schleimhautbeteiligung und allgemeinen Krankheitserscheinungen sowie bei der Gürtelrose eingenommen.
Acyclovir-Mepha ist nur auf Verschreibung des Arztes bzw. der Ärztin zu verwenden.
Dieses Arzneimittel wurde Ihnen von Ihrem Arzt bzw. Ihrer Ärztin zur Behandlung Ihrer gegenwärtigen Erkrankung verschrieben.
Das Virostatikum in Acyclovir-Mepha ist nicht gegen alle Mikroorganismen, welche Infektionskrankheiten verursachen, wirksam. Die Anwendung eines falsch gewählten oder nicht richtig dosierten Virostatikums kann Komplikationen verursachen. Wenden Sie es deshalb nie von sich aus für die Behandlung anderer Erkrankungen oder anderer Personen an.
Acyclovir-Mepha darf nicht angewendet werden bei einer bekannten Überempfindlichkeit auf die Wirkstoffe Aciclovir und Valaciclovir oder auf einen in Acyclovir-Mepha enthaltenen Hilfstoff.
Wenn eine bekannte Nierenfunktionsstörung vorliegt, muss dies dem Arzt bzw. der Ärztin mitgeteilt werden, da möglicherweise die Dosierung angepasst werden muss.
Bei einer Infektion mit Herpesviren in der Genitalregion sollte jeglicher Sexualkontakt vermieden werden, da sonst der Partner angesteckt werden könnte.
Dieses Arzneimittel kann die Reaktionsfähigkeit, die Fahrtüchtigkeit und die Fähigkeit, Werkzeuge oder Maschinen zu bedienen, beinträchtigen.
Informieren Sie Ihren Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. Ihre Ärztin oder Apothekerin, wenn Sie an anderen Krankheiten leiden, Allergien haben oder andere Arzneimittel (auch selbstgekaufte!) einnehmen oder äusserlich anwenden.
Auf Grund der bisherigen Erfahrungen ist bei bestimmungsmässiger Anwendung kein Risiko für das Kind bekannt.
Informieren Sie Ihren Arzt bzw. Ihre Ärztin, wenn Sie schwanger sind oder schwanger werden möchten. Sie dürfen Acyclovir-Mepha nur auf ausdrückliche Anweisung des Arztes bzw. der Ärztin einnehmen.
Während der Einnahme von Acyclovir-Mepha sollte nicht gestillt werden.
Die Tabletten werden geschluckt.
Während der Behandlung mit Acyclovir-Mepha Tabletten sollte darauf geachtet werden, dass genügend Flüssigkeit zugeführt wird.
Wenn Ihr Arzt bzw. Ihre Ärztin nichts anderes verordnet, gelten folgende Dosierungen:
Erwachsene und Kinder über 2 Jahre: 5× täglich 1 Tablette zu 200 mg, alle 4 Stunden bei 8-stündiger Nachtpause für mindestens 5 Tage.
Kinder unter 2 Jahren: Halbe Dosierung, evtl. höhere Dosen auf Anordnung des Arztes bzw. der Ärztin.
5× täglich 2 Tabletten zu 400 mg während 7 Tagen oder 5× täglich 1 Tablette zu 800 mg während 7 Tagen.
Die Behandlungsdauer wird von Ihrem Arzt bzw. Ihrer Ärztin festgelegt.
Bei eingeschränkter Nierenfunktion wird der Arzt bzw. die Ärztin die Dosis entsprechend anpassen.
Eine begonnene Therapie mit Virostatika sollte so lange wie vom Arzt bzw. der Ärztin verordnet durchgeführt werden. Die Krankheitssymptome verschwinden oft bevor die Infektion vollständig ausgeheilt ist. Eine ungenügende Anwendungsdauer oder ein zu frühes Beenden der Behandlung kann ein erneutes Aufflammen der Erkrankung zur Folge haben.
Ändern Sie nicht von sich aus die verschriebene Dosierung. Wenn Sie glauben, das Arzneimittel wirke zu schwach oder zu stark, so sprechen Sie mit Ihrem Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. Ihrer Ärztin oder Apothekerin.
Folgende Nebenwirkungen können bei der Einnahme von Acyclovir-Mepha auftreten:
Bei der Einnahme der Tabletten kann es zu Kopfschmerzen und Schwindel sowie in wenigen Fällen zu Hautausschlägen, Juckreiz, Nesselsucht, Lichtempfindlichkeit der Haut oder einer Hautrötung kommen oder es können Übelkeit, Erbrechen, Durchfall und Bauchschmerzen auftreten.
Selten wurden vorübergehende neurologische Störungen wie Zittern, Verwirrtheit, Halluzinationen, Depressionen, Müdigkeit, Schläfrigkeit, Bewegungs- und Sprachstörungen, Krampfanfälle und Bewusstseinsverlust berichtet, dies jedoch vor allem bei Patienten mit ungenügender Nierenfunktion.
Selten wurde von einem Haarverlust berichtet, wobei jedoch ein Zusammenhang mit Acyclovir nicht sicher nachgewiesen wurde.
Bei Auftreten von Atemnot, Enge und Schmerzen in der Brust, einem Anschwellen des Gesichtes, der Lippen, der Augenlider oder der Extremitäten sollten Sie sofort den Arzt bzw. die Ärztin informieren und nur auf dessen/deren ausdrückliche Anweisung die Einnahme von Acyclovir-Mepha fortsetzen. Sehr selten wurden Nierenschmerzen beobachtet. Bitte informieren Sie Ihren Arzt bzw. Ihre Ärztin. Er bzw. sie wird gegebenenfalls Ihre Nierenfunktion überprüfen.
Falls weitere Nebenwirkungen auftreten, bei denen Sie einen Zusammenhang mit der Einnahme von Acyclovir-Mepha vermuten, sollten Sie unverzüglich Ihren Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. Ihre Ärztin oder Apothekerin konsultieren.

Das Arzneimittel darf nur bis zu dem auf dem Behälter mit «EXP» bezeichneten Datum verwendet werden.
