+-Was ist Adartrel und wann wird es angewendet?

Adartrel enthält als Wirkstoff Ropinirol, eine Substanz aus der Klasse der Dopamin-Agonisten. Dopamin ist ein Stoff, der in bestimmten Zentren des Gehirns produziert wird und unter anderem auch die Bewegungen des Körpers regelt.

Beim Syndrom der unruhigen Beine (Restless Legs Syndrom) liegt möglicherweise Dopamin in ungenügender Menge vor, wodurch es zu Störungen, wie z.B. einem Drang zur Bewegung der unteren Gliedmassen hauptsächlich am Abend und in der Nacht, kommen kann. Diese Symptome können in der Nacht zu einem häufigeren Aufwachen der Patientinnen und Patienten führen. Adartrel lindert diese Symptome, indem es die Wirkung von Dopamin nachahmt.

Adartrel wird auf Verschreibung des Arztes oder der Ärztin zur Behandlung des Syndroms der unruhigen Beine (auch Restless Legs Syndrom genannt) eingesetzt. Die damit verbundenen, regelmässig wiederkehrenden Bewegungen der Extremitäten werden verringert und die nächtlichen Aufwachschübe reduziert.

+-Wann darf Adartrel nicht eingenommen werden?

Adartrel darf bei folgenden Zuständen nicht eingenommen werden:

  • bei Überempfindlichkeit gegenüber Ropinirol oder einem Hilfsstoff von Adartrel;
  • bei schweren Nierenfunktionsstörungen, wenn keine Dialyse durchgeführt wird;
  • bei eingeschränkter Leberfunktion;
  • während Schwangerschaft und Stillzeit.
+-Wann ist bei der Einnahme von Adartrel Vorsicht geboten?

Teilen Sie Ihrem Arzt oder Ihrer Ärztin mit, wenn Sie unter bestimmten psychischen Erkrankungen wie z.B. Schizophrenie leiden. Er wird im Einzelfall abklären, ob die Einnahme von Adartrel gestattet ist oder nicht.

Wenn Sie an Herz-Kreislauf-Problemen leiden, ist bei der Einnahme von Adartrel Vorsicht geboten.

Bei Kindern und Jugendlichen unter 18 Jahren darf Adartrel nicht angewendet werden, da keine Untersuchungen zu Wirksamkeit und Verträglichkeit vorliegen.

Manche Patienten bzw. Patientinnen haben unter Einnahme von Adartrel für sie ungewöhnliche Verhaltensweisen gezeigt. Beispiele für ein solches Verhalten sind ein ungewöhnlich starker Spieldrang (Glücksspiel mit vermehrten Geldausgaben), gesteigerter Sexualtrieb, unkontrollierbarer Kauf- oder Esszwang und/oder andere Störungen der Impulskontrolle (Unfähigkeit, plötzlichen Impulsen zu widerstehen) bzw. zwanghafte Verhaltensweisen. Falls Sie bei sich selber oder Ihre Familienmitglieder/Betreuungspersonen bei Ihnen die Entwicklung von für Sie untypischen, ungewöhnlichen Verhaltensweisen feststellen, besprechen Sie dies bitte mit Ihrem Arzt oder Ihrer Ärztin.

Dieses Arzneimittel kann die Reaktionsfähigkeit, die Fahrtüchtigkeit und die Fähigkeit, Werkzeuge oder Maschinen zu bedienen, beeinträchtigen!

Einige Patienten und Patientinnen können sich zu Beginn der Therapie schläfrig oder schwindlig fühlen. Falls Sie während der Einnahme von Adartrel an plötzlichem Einschlafen oder an starker Müdigkeit tagsüber leiden und bis ausreichende Erfahrungen über die Beeinträchtigungen vorliegen, dürfen Sie deshalb kein Motorfahrzeug führen oder andere Aktivitäten ausüben (z.B. Maschinen bedienen), bei denen eine verminderte Aufmerksamkeit Sie selbst oder andere gefährdet. Bei einigen Patienten und Patientinnen können plötzliches Einschlafen ohne jegliche Warnsymptome von Müdigkeit oder starke Schläfrigkeit tagsüber auftreten.

Während der Behandlung wurde bei manchen Patienten und Patientinnen eine Verschlechterung der Symptome des Restless-Legs-Syndroms (z.B. früheres Einsetzen, verstärkte Intensität oder Ausbreitung auf zuvor nicht betroffene Gliedmassen oder frühmorgendliche Symptome) beobachtet. Wenn Sie solche Symptome beobachten, informieren Sie Ihren Arzt oder Ihre Ärztin.

Während der Behandlung sollte kein Alkohol konsumiert werden.

Informieren Sie Ihren Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. Ihre Ärztin oder Apothekerin, wenn Sie

  • an anderen Krankheiten leiden,
  • Allergien haben oder
  • andere Arzneimittel (auch selbstgekaufte!) einnehmen oder äusserlich anwenden!
+-Darf Adartrel während einer Schwangerschaft oder in der Stillzeit eingenommen werden?

Sie dürfen Adartrel nicht einnehmen, wenn Sie schwanger sind oder stillen. Wenn Sie während der Behandlung schwanger werden, müssen Sie umgehend Ihren Arzt oder Ihre Ärztin konsultieren.

+-Wie verwenden Sie Adartrel?

Wichtig für den Erfolg der Behandlung ist die Einnahme der richtigen Menge zum richtigen Zeitpunkt. Ihr Arzt oder Ihre Ärztin wird deshalb die für Ihren Fall richtige Dosis festlegen und in enger Zusammenarbeit mit Ihnen das für Sie bestgeeignete Dosierungsschema finden. Befolgen Sie deshalb seine/ihre Anweisungen mit äusserster Genauigkeit.

Ihr Arzt oder Ihre Ärztin wird Ihnen in der ersten Woche der Behandlung Adartrel in geringen Dosen verschreiben und die Dosis ab der zweiten Woche allmählich steigern. Damit werden unerwünschte Begleiterscheinungen so weit als möglich vermieden, und Ihr Körper hat Zeit zur Anpassung an das Arzneimittel.

Adartrel Filmtabletten sind jeweils einmal täglich vor dem Zubettgehen einzunehmen. Adartrel kann aber auch bis zu drei Stunden vor dem Zubettgehen mit oder ohne Nahrung eingenommen werden. Dazu ist allerdings zu beachten, dass Adartrel Schläfrigkeit oder in sehr seltenen Fällen sogar eine Schlafattacke bewirken kann.

Ändern Sie nicht von sich aus die Dosierung. Wenn Sie glauben, das Arzneimittel wirke zu schwach oder zu stark, so sprechen Sie mit Ihrem Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. mit Ihrer Ärztin oder Apothekerin.

+-Welche Nebenwirkungen kann Adartrel haben?

Folgende Nebenwirkungen können bei der Einnahme von Adartrel auftreten:

Die häufigsten unerwünschten Wirkungen sind Übelkeit, Schläfrigkeit, Schwindel, Nervosität, Kopfschmerzen, Wasseransammlungen in den Beinen, Bauchschmerzen, Erbrechen, Bewusstlosigkeit, Bewegungsstörungen, Halluzinationen und Verwirrung, Verschlechterung der Symptome des Restless-Legs-Syndroms (z.B. früheres Einsetzen, verstärkte Intensität oder Ausbreitung auf zuvor nicht betroffene Gliedmassen oder frühmorgendliche Symptome).

Möglicherweise kann eine Blutdruckabnahme beobachtet werden.

Manche Patienten bzw. Patientinnen haben unter Einnahme von Adartrel für sie ungewöhnliche Verhaltensweisen gezeigt. Beispiele für ein solches Verhalten sind ein ungewöhnlich starker Spieldrang (Glücksspiel mit vermehrten Geldausgaben), gesteigerter Sexualtrieb, unkontrollierbarer Kauf- oder Esszwang und/oder andere Störungen der Impulskontrolle (Unfähigkeit, plötzlichen Impulsen zu widerstehen) bzw. zwanghafte Verhaltensweisen. Falls Sie bei sich selber oder Ihre Familienmitglieder/Betreuungspersonen bei Ihnen die Entwicklung von für Sie untypischen, ungewöhnlichen Verhaltensweisen feststellen, besprechen Sie dies bitte mit Ihrem Arzt oder Ihrer Ärztin.

Gelegentlich wurde auch aggressives Verhalten beobachtet.

Selten kann starke Tagesschläfrigkeit oder plötzliches Einschlafen ohne erkennbare Schläfrigkeitsanzeichen (Schlafattacke) auftreten. Wenn Sie sich tagsüber sehr stark müde fühlen oder ohne erkennbare Schläfrigkeitsanzeichen plötzlich einschlafen, sollten Sie Ihren Arzt oder Ihre Ärztin informieren.

Sehr selten wurden allergische Reaktionen wie gerötete, juckende Schwellungen auf der Haut, Schwellungen im Gesicht, an den Lippen, an Mund, Zunge oder Hals, die zu Schluck- oder Atembeschwerden führen können, Hautausschlag oder starker Juckreiz beobachtet. In einem Einzelfall ist es zu einem Allergie-Schock gekommen, wobei ein Zusammenhang mit der Einnahme von Ropinirol nicht nachgewiesen werden konnte.

Wenn Sie Nebenwirkungen bemerken, die hier nicht beschrieben sind, sollten Sie Ihren Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. Ihre Ärztin oder Apothekerin informieren.

+-Was ist ferner zu beachten?

Das Arzneimittel darf nur bis zu dem auf dem Behälter mit «EXP» bezeichneten Datum verwendet werden.

In der Originalverpackung, nicht über 25 °C und ausser Reichweite von Kindern aufbewahren.

Weitere Auskünfte erteilt Ihnen Ihr Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. Ihre Ärztin oder Apothekerin. Diese Personen verfügen über die ausführliche Fachinformation.

Weisse Filmtabletten: 0,25 mg Ropinirol (als Hydrochlorid) als Wirkstoff sowie Lactose, Croscarmellose-Natrium* und andere Hilfsstoffe.

Gelbe Filmtabletten: 0,5 mg Ropinirol (als Hydrochlorid) als Wirkstoff sowie der Farbstoff Indigocarmin (E 132), Lactose, Croscarmellose-Natrium* und andere Hilfsstoffe.

Rosafarbige Filmtabletten: 2,0 mg Ropinirol (als Hydrochlorid) als Wirkstoff sowie Lactose, Croscarmellose-Natrium* und andere Hilfsstoffe.

* Aus gentechnisch veränderter Baumwolle hergestellt.
