Akineton bzw. Akineton retard Tabletten mit dem Wirkstoff Biperiden hydrochlorid werden zur Behandlung der Parkinson?schen Krankheit (Schüttellähmung) verwendet. Die Parkinson?sche Krankheit äussert sich durch Muskelverspannung, Muskelkrämpfe und Zittern, häufig begleitet von Störungen der Speichel-, Talg- und Schweissabsonderung.
Akineton und Akineton retard Tabletten unterdrücken ausserdem Parkinsonähnliche Nebenwirkungen, die von anderen Arzneimitteln hervorgerufen werden.
Akineton bzw. Akineton retard Tabletten dürfen nur auf Verschreibung und unter ständiger Kontrolle des Arztes oder der Ärztin eingenommen werden.
Das Präparat darf nicht angewendet werden bei:
Grünem Star («Engwinkel»-Form);
Vorhandensein von Verengungen im Magen-Darmtrakt oder Darmverschluss;
Überempfindlichkeit auf den Wirkstoff Biperiden oder einen der Hilfsstoffe von Akineton/Akineton retard.
Wenn Sie an einer Prostataerkrankung, Erkrankungen verbunden mit Herzklopfen und Herzjagen, Epilepsie (erhöhte Krampfbereitschaft) leiden, informieren Sie bitte Ihren Arzt oder Ihre Ärztin.
Bei Kombination mit anderen Präparaten zur Behandlung der Parkinson?schen Krankheit, Chinidin oder antidepressiv wirkenden Arzneimittel.
Besondere Vorsicht ist auch bei Patientinnen und Patienten geboten, die deutliche Gedächtnisstörungen haben und welche dauernd oder zeitweise verwirrt sind.
Der Augeninnendruck sollte während der Behandlung mit Akineton/Akineton retard regelmässig kontrolliert werden.
Der gleichzeitige Genuss alkoholischer Getränke ist zu vermeiden, da eine Zunahme des Alkoholeffektes unter Akineton bzw. Akineton retard auftreten kann.
Dieses Arzneimittel kann die Reaktionsfähigkeit, die Fahrtüchtigkeit und die Fähigkeit, Werkzeuge und Maschinen zu bedienen, beeinträchtigen.
Informieren Sie Ihren Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. Ihre Ärztin oder Apothekerin, wenn Sie an anderen Krankheiten leiden, Allergien haben oder andere Arzneimittel (auch selbstgekaufte!) einnehmen oder äusserlich anwenden.
Während Schwangerschaft und Stillzeit sollten Akineton bzw. Akineton retard Tabletten nur auf ausdrückliche Verordnung des Arztes bzw. der Ärztin verwendet werden.
Der Arzt bzw. die Ärztin richtet die Dosierungsempfehlung nach dem Krankheitsbild aus.
Begonnen wird in der Regel mit einer niedrigen Dosierung, die dann allmählich erhöht wird.
Maximale Tagesdosen von 8 Tabletten oder 3 Retard-Tabletten sollten im Allgemeinen nicht überschritten werden.
Akineton und Akineton retard Tabletten sollten während oder kurz nach den Mahlzeiten mit etwas Flüssigkeit eingenommen werden. Akineton retard Tabletten sind unzerkaut einzunehmen.
Die Behandlung mit Akineton bzw. Akineton retard Tabletten ist in der Regel eine Dauertherapie. Ausser im Notfall ist abruptes Absetzen der Behandlung zu vermeiden. Stattdessen sollte die Dosierung bei Bedarf langsam reduziert werden.
Akineton retard Tabletten sind für Kinder und Jugendliche nicht geeignet.
Ändern Sie nicht von sich aus die verschriebene Dosierung. Wenn Sie glauben, das Arzneimittel wirke zu schwach oder zu stark, so sprechen Sie mit Ihrem Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. mit Ihrer Ärztin oder Apothekerin.
Unter der Therapie mit Akineton bzw. Akineton retard kann es häufig zu Überempfindlichkeitsreaktionen, Mundtrockenheit, Sehschwäche, Müdigkeit, Benommenheit, Unruhe, Erregung, Verwirrtheit, Kopfschmerzen, Angst, Delirium, Schwindel, Magenbeschwerden, Verstopfung und Schweissminderung kommen.
Gelegentlich beobachtete Nebenwirkungen sind: Euphorie, Halluzinationen, Gedächtnisstörungen, Blutdrucksenkungen und Beschwerden bei der Blasenentleerung.
Selten wurde Harnverhalt, grüner Star (Glaukom) beobachtet.
In sehr seltenen Fällen wurden Bewegungsstörungen, Sprechstörungen, Muskelzucken, Störungen der Bewegungskoordination und allergische Hautausschläge beobachtet.
Ausserdem können Schlafstörungen, Schläfrigkeit, Krampfanfälle, Veränderung der Herzfrequenz und Lichtscheue auftreten.
Sollten oben aufgeführte Nebenwirkungen bei Ihnen auftreten, so besprechen Sie dies mit Ihrem Arzt oder Ärztin.
Wenn Sie Nebenwirkungen bemerken, die hier nicht beschrieben sind, sollten Sie Ihren Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. Ihre Ärztin oder Apothekerin informieren.
Packungen nach Gebrauch stets gut verschliessen. Bei Raumtemperatur (15?25 °C), vor Licht geschützt, an einem trockenen Ort und ausserhalb der Reichweite von Kindern aufbewahren.
Das Arzneimittel darf nur bis zu dem auf dem Behälter mit «EXP» bezeichneten Datum verwendet werden.
