Ben-u-ron enthält den Wirkstoff Paracetamol, der schmerzlindernd und fiebersenkend wirkt.
Es wird angewendet zur kurzfristigen Behandlung von Kopfschmerzen, Zahnschmerzen, Schmerzen im Bereich von Gelenken und Bändern, Rückenschmerzen, Schmerzen während der Monatsblutung, Schmerzen nach Verletzungen (z.B. Sportverletzungen), Schmerzen bei Erkältungskrankheiten und Fieber.
Wie alle Fieber- und Schmerzmittel soll auch Paracetamol nicht ohne Verordnung des Arztes länger als 5 Tage oder bei Fieber länger als 3 Tage angewendet werden.
Schmerzmittel sollen nicht ohne ärztliche Kontrolle über längere Zeit regelmässig eingenommen werden. Längerdauernde Schmerzen bedürfen einer ärztlichen Abklärung.
Die angegebene oder vom Arzt bzw. der Ärztin verschriebene Dosierung darf nicht überschritten werden.
Es ist auch zu bedenken, dass der langdauernde Gebrauch von Schmerzmitteln seinerseits dazu beitragen kann, dass Kopfschmerzen weiter bestehen.
Die langfristige Einnahme von Schmerzmitteln, insbesondere bei Kombination mehrerer schmerzstillender Wirkstoffe, kann zur dauerhaften Nierenschädigung mit dem Risiko eines Nierenversagens führen.
In folgenden Fällen dürfen Sie Ben-u-ron nicht einnehmen:
- Bei Überempindlichkeit auf den Wirkstoff Paracetamol. Eine solche Überempfindlichkeit äussert sich z.B. durch Asthma, Atemnot, Kreislaufbeschwerden, Schwellungen der Haut und Schleimhäute oder Hautausschläge (Nesselfieber).
- Bei schweren Leber- oder Nierenerkrankungen.
- Bei Alkoholüberkonsum.
- Bei einer erblichen Leberstörung (sogenannte Meulengracht-Krankheit).
Der Ben-u-ron Saft enthält 2,5 g Saccharose (0,2 BE) pro Messlöffel. Diabetiker sollten daher nach Möglichkeit statt Ben-u-ron Saft die Ben-u-ron Tabletten oder Suppositorien verwenden.
Bei vorgeschädigter Niere oder Leber ist eine sorgfältige Überwachung notwendig.
Bei einer seltenen erblichen Krankheit der roten Blutkörperchen, dem sogenannten "Glucose-6-Phosphat-Dehydrogenase-Mangel" sowie beim gleichzeitigen Gebrauch von Arzneimitteln, welche die Leber beeinflussen, namentlich gewisse Mittel gegen Tuberkulose und Anfallsleiden (Epilepsie) oder bei Arzneimittel mit dem Wirkstoff Zidovudin, die bei Immunschwäche (AIDS) eingesetzt werden, soll die Einnahme nur nach strengen Anweisungen des Arztes, bzw. der Ärztin erfolgen.
Von der gleichzeitigen Einnahme von Paracetamol und Alkohol ist abzuraten. Besonders bei fehlender gleichzeitiger Nahrungsaufnahme erhöht sich die Gefahr einer Leberschädigung.
Patientinnen und Patienten, die auf Azofarbstoffe, Acetylsalicylsäure sowie Rheuma- oder Schmerzmittel (Prostaglandinhemmer) überempfindlich reagieren, sollen Ben-u-ron Saft nicht einnehmen.
Informieren Sie Ihren Arzt, Apotheker oder Drogisten bzw. Ihre Ärztin, Apothekerin oder Drogistin, wenn Sie an anderen Krankheiten leiden, Allergien haben oder andere Arzneimittel (auch selbstgekaufte) einnehmen.
Vorsichtshalber sollten Sie während der Schwangerschaft und Stillzeit möglichst auf Arzneimittel verzichten oder den Arzt, den Apotheker oder den Drogisten bzw. die Ärztin, die Apothekerin oder die Drogistin um Rat fragen.
Aufgrund bisheriger Erfahrungen ist bei kurzfristiger Anwendung vom Wirkstoff Paracetamol in der angegebenen Dosierung kein Risiko für das Kind bekannt.
Obwohl Paracetamol in sehr geringen Mengen in der Muttermilch auftritt, sind für den Säugling keine nachteiligen Folgen bekannt.
Der Flascheninhalt ist vor Gebrauch zu schütteln. 1 Messlöffel enthält 5 ml Saft entsprechend 200 mg
des Wirkstoffes Paracetamol. Der Saft sollte mit viel Flüssigkeit eingenommen werden.
Säuglinge bis 6 Monate (bis 7 kg): ½ Messlöffel bis 3x täglich.
Säuglinge 6-12 Monate (7-10 kg): ½ Messlöffel bis 4x täglich.
Kinder 1-3 Jahre (10-15 kg): 1 Messlöffel bis 3x täglich.
Kinder 3-6 Jahre (15-22 kg): 1½ Messlöffel bis 3x täglich.
Kinder 6-9 Jahre (22-30 kg): 1½ - 2½ Messlöffel bis 3x täglich.
Kinder 9-12 Jahre (30-40 kg): 2 - 3 Messlöffel bis 3 x täglich.
Jugendliche über 12 Jahre und Erwachsene (über 40 kg): 2½ - 5 Messlöffel bis 4x täglich.
Einzeldosen nicht häufiger als alle 4 Stunden verabreichen.
Halten Sie sich an die in dieser Packungsbeilage angegebene oder vom Arzt bzw. der Ärztin verschriebene Dosierung. Wenn Sie glauben, das Arzneimittel wirke zu schwach oder zu stark, so sprechen Sie mit Ihrem Arzt, Apotheker oder Drogisten bzw. mit Ihrer Ärztin, Apothekerin oder Drogistin.
Folgende Nebenwirkungen können bei der Einnahme von Ben-u-ron auftreten: in seltenen Fällen Überempfindlichkeitsreaktionen wie Schwellungen der Haut und Schleimhäute oder Hautausschläge bis hin zu schweren Hautreaktionen (sehr selten), Übelkeit, Atemnot oder Asthma. Treten Zeichen einer Überempfindlichkeitsreaktion auf, ist das Arzneimittel abzusetzen und der Arzt bzw. die Ärztin zu konsultieren.
Wenn Sie Nebenwirkungen bemerken, die hier nicht beschrieben sind, sollten Sie Ihren Arzt, Apotheker oder Drogisten bzw. Ihre Ärztin, Apothekerin oder Drogistin informieren.
Bei Raumtemperatur (15-25°C) und ausser Reichweite von Kindern aufbewahren.
Haltbarkeit nach Anbruch der Flasche: Wie bei allen flüssigen Arzneiformen ist die Haltbarkeit von Ben-u-ron Saft nach dem ersten Öffnen begrenzt. Deshalb soll die Flasche nach Entnahme unter hygienischen Bedingungen sofort wieder verschlossen und im Kühlschrank aufbewahrt werden. Der Saft bleibt dann 6 Monate haltbar (vorausgesetzt, dass das Verfalldatum nicht vorher abläuft).
Bei unkontrollierter Einnahme (Überdosis) ist unverzüglich ein Arzt bzw. eine Ärztin zu konsultieren. Übelkeit, Erbrechen, Bauchschmerzen, Appetitlosigkeit, allg. Krankheitsgefühl können ein Hinweis auf eine Überdosierung sein, treten aber erst mehrere Std. bis 1 Tag nach Einnahme auf.
Weitere Auskünfte erteilt Ihnen Ihr Arzt, Apotheker oder Drogist bzw. Ihre Ärztin, Apothekerin oder Drogistin. Diese Personen verfügen über die ausführliche Fachinformation.
