Cefuroxim Axapharm ist ein Antibiotikum, durch dessen Einnahme bakterielle Infektionserreger abgetötet werden. Cefuroxim Axapharm eignet sich zur Behandlung von Infektionen des Hals-, Nasen- und Ohrenbereichs, der Atemwege, der Harnwege, der Geschlechtsorgane, der Haut und der Weichteilgewebe.
Es darf nur auf Verschreibung des Arztes oder der Ärztin hin eingenommen werden.
Ihr Arzt bzw. Ihre Ärztin sollte die für Ihre Infektion verantwortliche Bakterienart testen und ihre Empfindlichkeit gegenüber Cefuroxim Axapharm im Behandlungsverlauf überwachen.
Vergessen Sie nicht, dass Ihnen dieses Arzneimittel zur Behandlung Ihrer gegenwärtigen Erkrankung verschrieben wurde. Es darf nicht für die Behandlung anderer Erkrankungen verwendet und nicht an andere Personen weitergegeben werden.
Das in Cefuroxim Axapharm enthaltene Antibiotikum ist nicht wahllos gegen alle Mikroorganismen, welche infektiöse Erkrankungen verursachen, anwendbar. Um langwierige Komplikationen zu vermeiden, die durch die Anwendung eines falsch gewählten oder nicht richtig dosierten antiinfektiösen Arzneimittels hervorgerufen werden können, dürfen Sie Cefuroxim Axapharm auch bei späteren neuen Infektionen nicht ohne ärztliche Verordnung anwenden.
Im Fall von bekannter oder vermuteter Überempfindlichkeit gegen Cephalosporin-Antibiotika darf Cefuroxim Axapharm nicht eingenommen werden. Bei einer bestehenden oder vermuteten Penicillinallergie muss der Arzt bzw. die Ärztin informiert werden. Eine Allergie oder eine Überempfindlichkeit zeigt sich z.B. in Symptomen wie rote Hautflecken, Fieber, Asthma, Atemnot, Kreislaufbeschwerden, Schwellungen der Haut (z.B. Nesselfieber) und der Schleimhäute, Hautausschlägen oder einer schmerzhaften Zunge.
Dieses Arzneimittel kann die Reaktionsfähigkeit, die Fahrtüchtigkeit und die Fähigkeit, Werkzeuge oder Maschinen zu bedienen, beeinträchtigen. Falls bei Ihnen schon einmal eine Penicillinallergie aufgetreten ist, muss Ihr Arzt bzw. Ihre Ärztin davon Kenntnis haben, ebenso, wenn Sie eine allgemeine Veranlagung für Allergien haben.
Wenn während der Behandlung Schwierigkeiten mit dem Atmen, Engegefühl in der Brust, ein Anschwellen der Augenlider, des Gesichts oder der Lippen, Hautausschläge (rote Flecken), Hautschwellungen, Nesselfieber oder sehr starker Durchfall auftreten, sollten Sie unverzüglich Ihren Arzt bzw. Ihre Ärztin informieren, bevor Sie mit der Cefuroxim Axapharm-Therapie weiterfahren.
Beim Auftreten von Durchfällen dürfen keine Arzneimittel, welche die Darmperistaltik (Darmbewegung) hemmen, eingenommen werden.
Arzneimittel, welche zur Behandlung übermässiger Magensäureproduktion eingenommen werden, können die Wirkung von Cefuroxim Axapharm verändern.
Wenn Sie ein orales empfängnisverhütendes Mittel (Pille) nehmen, besteht die Möglichkeit, dass seine Wirksamkeit während einer Antibiotika-Therapie herabgesetzt ist. Dieser Hinweis gilt auch für Cefuroxim Axapharm. Deshalb sollten zusätzliche Massnahmen zur Empfängnisverhütung getroffen werden.
Informieren Sie Ihren Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. Ihre Ärztin oder Apothekerin, wenn Sie an anderen Krankheiten leiden, Allergien haben oder andere Arzneimittel (auch selbstgekaufte!) einnehmen oder äusserlich anwenden.
Informieren Sie Ihren Arzt bzw. Ihre Ärztin, wenn Sie schwanger sind oder Ihr Kind stillen. Insbesondere in den ersten drei Monaten der Schwangerschaft ist die Einnahme von Cefuroxim Axapharm nur in zwingenden Fällen angezeigt. Cefuroxim Axapharm geht in geringen Mengen in die Muttermilch über.
Bitte halten Sie die vom Arzt bzw. der Ärztin festgelegte Dosierung und Behandlungsdauer genau ein und brechen Sie die Therapie auf keinen Fall ohne ärztliche Einwilligung ab.
Wenn Sie ein Nierenleiden haben, kann der Arzt bzw. die Ärztin Ihnen eine geringere Dosis verordnen.
Cefuroxim Axapharm sollte mit dem Essen eingenommen werden. Die Filmtabletten sollen mit etwas Flüssigkeit und - wegen des bitteren Geschmacks - unzerkaut geschluckt werden.
Normalerweise morgens und abends (alle 12 Std.) 1 Filmtablette zu 250 mg. Bei bestimmten Infektionen: morgens und abends (alle 12 Std.) 1 Filmtablette zu 500 mg.
Bei Kindern ab 5 Jahren (mit einem Körpergewicht von mindestens 20 kg) bis zu 12 Jahren kann Cefuroxim Axapharm nur zur Behandlung von Mittelohrentzündungen oder schweren Infekten verwendet werden. Bei Mittelohrentzündung oder schwereren Infekten beträgt die Dosierung 2× täglich 1 Filmtablette zu 250 mg. Diese Dosierung darf nicht überschritten werden.
Cefuroxim Axapharm ist nicht geeignet zur Behandlung von Kindern unter 5 Jahren.
In gewissen Fällen wird Ihnen der Arzt bzw. die Ärztin eine andere Dosierung verschreiben.
Ändern Sie nicht von sich aus die verschriebene Dosierung. Wenn Sie glauben, das Arzneimittel wirke zu schwach oder zu stark, so sprechen Sie mit Ihrem Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. mit Ihrer Ärztin oder Apothekerin.
Folgende Nebenwirkungen können bei der Einnahme von Cefuroxim Axapharm auftreten:
Gelegentlich können Magen-Darm-Störungen, wie zum Beispiel Bauchschmerzen, Sodbrennen, Übelkeit und Erbrechen oder Kopfschmerzen und Schwindel vorkommen. In solchen Fällen ist es nicht notwendig, die Einnahme von Cefuroxim Axapharm abzubrechen. Sie sollten jedoch Ihren Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. Ihre Ärztin oder Apothekerin darüber informieren.
Unterbrechen Sie die Einnahme von Cefuroxim Axapharm und benachrichtigen Sie schnellstmöglichst Ihren Arzt bzw. Ihre Ärztin, wenn eines oder mehrere der folgenden Symptome auftreten: starke Übelkeit, starker Durchfall oder heftige Magenschmerzen; Blutungen aus dem After; beginnende Gelbverfärbung von Haut oder Augen.
Sollten Schwierigkeiten mit dem Atmen, Engegefühl in der Brust, ein Anschwellen der Augenlider, des Gesichtes oder der Lippen, Hautausschläge (rote Flecken), Hautschwellungen oder Nesselfieber auftreten, sollten Sie unverzüglich Ihren Arzt bzw. Ihre Ärztin informieren und nur auf dessen bzw. deren ausdrückliche Anweisung die Einnahme von Cefuroxim Axapharm fortsetzen.
Wenn Sie Nebenwirkungen bemerken, die hier nicht beschrieben sind, sollten Sie Ihren Arzt, Apotheker bzw. Ihre Ärztin, Apothekerin informieren.
Bei Diabetikern können Harnzuckerbestimmungen falschpositiv ausfallen, wenn Methoden verwendet werden, die auf der Reduktion des Kupfers beruhen (z.B. Fehling, Benedict, Clinitest); es sollten daher Enzymtests angewendet werden.
Falls sich die mit Cefuroxim Axapharm behandelte Erkrankung nach Beendigung einer Packung nicht wesentlich gebessert hat oder abgeheilt ist, sollten Sie unverzüglich Ihren Arzt bzw. Ihre Ärztin benachrichtigen.
Bitte bringen Sie nach Beendigung der Behandlung die Packung mit dem restlichen Inhalt Ihrem Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. Ihrer Ärztin oder Apothekerin zur fachgerechten Entsorgung.
Weitere Auskünfte erteilt Ihnen Ihr Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. Ihre Ärztin oder Apothekerin. Diese Personen verfügen über die ausführliche Fachinformation.
Cefuroxim Axapharm Filmtabletten sind in der verschlossenen Originalpackung, bei Raumtemperatur (15-25 °C) und ausser Reichweite von Kindern aufzubewahren. Das Arzneimittel darf nur bis zu dem auf dem Behälter mit «EXP.» bezeichneten Datum verwendet werden.
1 Filmtablette Cefuroxim Axapharm 250 mg enthält als Wirkstoff 250 mg Cefuroxim in Form von Cefuroximaxetil und Hilfsstoffe.
