+-Was ist Cetebe und wann wird es angewendet?

Cetebe enthält als Wirkstoff Vitamin C (Ascorbinsäure). In bestimmten Situationen ist Vitamin C besonders wichtig:

  • Bei Vitamin C-Mangel und zur Deckung eines erhöhten Vitamin C-Bedarfs, wie z.B. nach Operationen; während der Wundheilung (wie nach Zahnextraktionen); bei Zahnfleischbluten; bei Patienten unter Hämodialyse (Blutwäsche) oder Behandlung mit Antibiotika; in der Schwangerschaft und Stillzeit; bei Rauchern und bei grosser körperlicher Anstrengung.
  • Zur Begleitbehandlung von allgemeinen Infektionskrankheiten wie Erkältungen und grippalen Infekten.
  • Bei Skorbut und subklinischem Skorbut, z.B. infolge von Resorptionsstörungen (z.B. bei Operationen oder Erkrankungen im Magen-Darm-Bereich).

Der Wirkstoff von Cetebe wird langsam und gleichmässig freigesetzt. So sorgt das Präparat bis zu ca. 12 Stunden für einen ausreichend hohen Vitamin C-Spiegel im Blut. Bis heute ist nicht bekannt, ob dies für die Wirkung von Bedeutung ist.

+-Was sollte dazu beachtet werden?

Der tägliche Bedarf an Vitamin C ist normalerweise mit der Nahrung gedeckt. Die zusätzliche Einnahme von Vitamin C-Präparaten ist bei Vitamin C-Mängeln, die ernährungsmässig nicht aufgehoben werden können, angezeigt. Diabetiker, welche Zucker im Urin bestimmen, sollten einige Tage vor dem Test kein Cetebe einnehmen, da Vitamin C in höheren Konzentrationen den Nachweis stören kann.

Hinweis für Diabetiker: 1 Kapsel enthält ca. 51 mg verwertbare Kohlenhydrate. Cetebe kann deshalb von Diabetikern angewendet werden.

+-Wann darf Cetebe nicht angewendet werden?
  • wenn Sie überempfindlich sind auf den Wirkstoff Ascorbinsäure (Vitamin C) oder einen anderen Inhaltsstoff (siehe Was ist in Cetebe enthalten?).
  • wenn Sie an oxalathaltigen Blasen- oder Nierensteinen (Oxalat-Urolithiasis) leiden oder in der Vergangenheit gelitten haben.
  • wenn Sie an einer Krankheit leiden, bei der zu viel Eisen im Körper gespeichert wird (Thalassämie, Hämochromatose, sideroblastische Anämie).
  • wenn Sie wissen, dass Sie dazu neigen, vermehrt Eisen zu speichern.
  • wenn Sie an einer Harnvergiftung leiden.
+-Wann ist bei der Einnahme von Cetebe Vorsicht geboten?

Bitte sprechen Sie mit Ihrem Arzt bzw. Ihrer Ärztin, bevor Sie Cetebe Vitamin C Retard 500 einnehmen,

  • wenn Sie an einer sehr seltenen Stoffwechselerkrankung, dem sogenannten erythrozytären Glucose-6-Phosphat-Dehydrogenase-Mangel, leiden.
  • wenn Sie an einer Nierenfunktionsstörung leiden.
  • Wenn Sie Arzneimitteln zur Behandlung einer Eisenüberladung (Deferoxamin) nehmen.
  • Cetebe Kapseln enthalten Zucker. Falls Sie an der seltenen erblichen Fructose-Intoleranz, Glucose-Galactose-Malabsorption oder Saccharase-Isomaltase-Mangel leiden, sollten Sie Cetebe nicht einnehmen.

Vorsicht ist geboten bei gleichzeitiger Einnahme von

  • Mitteln zur Behandlung von Eisenmangel: Vitamin C erhöht die Aufnahme von Eisen aus dem Magen-Darm-Trakt.
  • aluminiumhaltigen Mitteln gegen Magenübersäuerung (Antazida): Eine gleichzeitige Einnahme kann zu einem erhöhten Aluminiumgehalt des Blutes und damit zu Vergiftungserscheinungen führen. Insbesondere bei eingeschränkter Nierenfunktion sollte deshalb eine gleichzeitige Einnahme vermieden werden.
  • Acetylsalicylsäure (z.B. Aspirin), bestimmte Antibiotika (Tetrazykline) sowie bestimmte Arzneimittel zur Behandlung der Epilepsie (Barbiturate).
  • Arzneimittel zur Empfängnisverhütung (orale Kontrazeptiva) und bestimmte Arzneimittel zur Behandlung von Allergien und Entzündungen (Kortikosteroide), bestimmte Arzneimittel, die den Knochenabbau hemmen (Calcitonin).

Die Einnahme von Cetebe kann Auswirkungen auf Laboruntersuchungen haben. Bitte teilen Sie Ihrem Arzt vor Laboruntersuchungen mit, dass Sie Vitamin C einnehmen.

Informieren Sie Ihren Arzt, Apotheker oder Drogisten bzw. Ihre Ärztin, Apothekerin oder Drogistin, wenn Sie an anderen Krankheiten leiden, Allergien haben oder andere Arzneimittel (auch selbstgekaufte!) einnehmen oder äusserlich anwenden!

+-Darf Cetebe während einer Schwangerschaft oder in der Stillzeit eingenommen werden?

Cetebe kann während der Schwangerschaft oder Stillzeit eingenommen werden. Die empfohlene Dosis soll aber nicht überschritten werden. Auf Grund der bisherigen Erfahrungen ist bei bestimmungsgemässer Anwendung kein Risiko für das Kind bekannt. Systemische wissenschaftliche Untersuchungen wurden aber nie durchgeführt.

+-Wie verwenden Sie Cetebe?

Sofern der Arzt nichts anderes verschreibt, nehmen Erwachsene und Kinder über 12 Jahren bei Mangelzuständen 1 bis 2 Kapseln täglich. Zur Deckung eines erhöhten Bedarfs genügt in der Regel 1 Kapsel pro Tag. Cetebe ist nicht zur Anwendung bei Kindern unter 12 Jahren bestimmt. Die Kapseln sind unzerkaut mit etwas Flüssigkeit zu schlucken.

Ohne ärztliche Anweisung nicht länger als sechs Monate einnehmen.

Halten Sie sich an die in der Packungsbeilage angegebene oder vom Arzt oder der Ärztin verschriebene Dosierung. Wenn Sie glauben, das Arzneimittel wirke zu schwach oder zu stark, so sprechen Sie mit Ihrem Arzt, Apotheker oder Drogisten bzw. Ihrer Ärztin, Apothekerin oder Drogistin.

+-Welche Nebenwirkungen kann Cetebe haben?

Folgende Nebenwirkungen können bei der Anwendung von Cetebe in sehr seltenen Fällen auftreten:

  • Überempfindlichkeitsreaktionen wie Atembeschwerden oder allergische Hautreaktionen in Form von Hautausschlag, Juckreiz oder Schwellungen von Lippen, Zunge, Gesicht oder Hals
  • Kopfschmerzen und Schwindel
  • Übelkeit, Erbrechen, Durchfall, Sodbrennen und Bauchschmerzen
  • Müdigkeit

Durch versehentliche Einnahme zu grosser Mengen Cetebe (mehr als 6 Kapseln auf einmal) können Durchfälle auftreten. Die Vitamin C-Einnahme ist dann zu verringern und gegebenenfalls ist ein Arzt bzw. eine Ärztin aufzusuchen.

Wenn Sie dennoch Nebenwirkungen bemerken, sollten Sie Ihren Arzt, Apotheker oder Drogisten bzw. Ihre Ärztin, Apothekerin oder Drogistin informieren.

+-Was ist ferner zu beachten?

Das Arzneimittel ausser Reichweite von Kindern und bei Raumtemperatur (15?25 °C) aufbewahren. Das Arzneimittel darf nur bis zu dem auf dem Behälter mit «EXP» bezeichneten Datum verwendet werden.
