+-Was ist Ciloxan Augensalbe und wann wird es angewendet?

Ciloxan Augensalbe enthält den Wirkstoff Ciprofloxacin (ein Antibiotikum), der gegen zahlreiche Bakterien wirkt, welche Infektionen am Auge verursachen können. Ciloxan Augensalbe wird zur Behandlung bakterieller Bindehaut- und Lidrandentzündungen sowie bakteriell bedingter Hornhautgeschwüre (Ulcus corneae) eingesetzt und darf nur auf Verschreibung des Arztes oder der Ärztin angewendet werden.

+-Was sollte dazu beachtet werden?

Dieses Arzneimittel wurde Ihnen von Ihrem Arzt bzw. von Ihrer Ärztin zur Behandlung Ihrer gegenwärtigen Augenbeschwerden verschrieben. Das in Ciloxan Augensalbe enthaltene Antibiotikum ist nicht gegen alle Mikroorganismen wirksam, welche Augeninfektionen hervorrufen können. Die Anwendung eines falsch gewählten oder nicht richtig dosierten Antibiotikums kann Komplikationen verursachen. Daher Ciloxan Augensalbe nie von sich aus für die Behandlung anderer Erkrankungen oder anderer Personen anwenden. Auch bei späteren neuen Infektionen am Auge das Arzneimittel nicht ohne erneute ärztliche Konsultation anwenden.

Ciloxan Augensalbe ist ausschliesslich zur äusseren Anwendung am Auge bestimmt und darf daher nicht eingenommen werden.

Hinweis für Kontaktlinsenträger:

Während der Therapie mit Ciloxan Augensalbe keine Kontaktlinsen tragen.

+-Wann darf Ciloxan Augensalbe nicht angewendet werden?

Bei einer bekannten oder vermuteten Überempfindlichkeit (Allergie) auf einen Inhaltsstoff von Ciloxan Augensalbe (z.B. Ciprofloxacin) oder auf andere verwandte Antibiotika (Chinolone).

Ciloxan Augensalbe sollte bei Kindern unter 1 Jahr nicht angewendet werden.

+-Wann ist bei der Anwendung von Ciloxan Augensalbe Vorsicht geboten?
  • Wenn sich die mit Ciloxan Augensalbe behandelten Augenbeschwerden nach 2-3 Behandlungstagen verschlechtern oder wenn neue Symptome auftreten, unverzüglich Ihren Arzt bzw. Ihre Ärztin konsultieren.
  • Informieren Sie Ihren Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. Ihre Ärztin oder Apothekerin, wenn Sie an anderen Krankheiten leiden, Allergien haben und/oder wenn Sie andere Arzneimittel (auch selbstgekaufte!) einnehmen oder am Auge anwenden.
  • Nach Anwendung von Ciloxan Augensalbe kann es infolge des Salbenfilms kurzfristig zu verschwommenem Sehen kommen. Daher nach der Anwendung des Arzneimittels solange keine Fahrzeuge lenken und keine Maschinen bedienen, bis diese Beeinträchtigung abgeklungen ist.
+-Darf Ciloxan Augensalbe während einer Schwangerschaft oder in der Stillzeit angewendet werden?

Während der Schwangerschaft oder Stillzeit das Arzneimittel nur nach ausdrücklicher Anweisung Ihres Arztes bzw. Ihrer Ärztin anwenden.

+-Wie verwenden Sie Ciloxan Augensalbe?

Der Arzt legt die Dosierung fest. In der Regel wird folgendes Dosierungsschema angewendet:

Bei bakterieller Bindehautentzündung oder Lidrandentzündung:

Erwachsene und Kinder älter als 1 Jahr:

1.-2. Tag: 3 mal täglich einen Strang von ca. 1,25 cm Augensalbe in den Bindehautsack (oder auf den Lidrand) applizieren

3.-7. Tag: 2 mal täglich einen Strang von ca. 1,25 cm Augensalbe in den Bindehautsack (oder auf den Lidrand) applizieren

Bei Hornhautgeschwüren:

Erwachsene und Kinder älter als 1 Jahr:

Ciloxan Augensalbe muss in folgenden Zeitabständen, auch während der Nacht, angewendet werden:

1.-2. Tag:  alle 1-2 Stunden einen Strang von ca. 1,25 cm Augensalbe in den Bindehautsack einbringen

3.-14. Tag: alle 4 Stunden einen Strang von ca. 1,25 cm Augensalbe in den Bindehautsack einbringen

Eine begonnene Antibiotika-Behandlung muss so lange wie vom Arzt verordnet durchgeführt werden. Die Krankheitssymptome können verschwinden, bevor die Infektion vollständig ausgeheilt ist. Eine ungenügende Anwendungsdauer des Arzneimittels oder ein zu frühes Beenden der Behandlung kann ein erneutes Auftreten der Erkrankung zur Folge haben.

Ändern Sie nicht von sich aus die verschriebene Dosierung. Wenn Sie glauben, das Arzneimittel wirke zu schwach oder zu stark, sprechen Sie mit Ihrem Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. Ihrer Ärztin oder Apothekerin.

+-Welche Nebenwirkungen kann Ciloxan Augensalbe haben?

Folgende Nebenwirkungen können bei der Anwendung von Ciloxan Augensalbe auftreten:

  • Häufig können folgende Nebenwirkungen am Auge auftreten: Brennen, Stechen, Hornhauttrübung.
  • Gelegentlich können folgende Nebenwirkungen am Auge auftreten: Rötung, Juckreiz, Tränenfluss, verminderte Sehschärfe bzw. verschwommenes sehen, Lichtscheu.
  • Häufig treten bei Patienten mit Hornhautgeschwüren bei Anwendung von Ciloxan Augensalbe weisse Ausfällungen am Auge auf, welche bei Fortführung der Therapie jedoch wieder verschwinden. In solchen Fällen sollte die Behandlung nicht abgebrochen werden. Auch werden dadurch der Behandlungsverlauf sowie das Sehvermögen nicht negativ beeinflusst. Informieren Sie Ihren Arzt oder Ihre Ärztin, wenn Sie solche oder ähnliche Symptome beobachten.
  • Gelegentlich sind ferner Geschmackempfindungsstörungen (metallischer Geschmack) und Dermatitis nicht auszuschliessen.
  • In Augenpräparaten enthaltene Wirkstoffe können in den Blutkreislauf gelangen. Nebenwirkungen können deshalb ausser am Auge auch an anderen Stellen des Körpers auftreten (z.B. gelegentlich Übelkeit und in sehr seltenen Fällen allergieähnliche Wirkungen wie Blausucht, Atemprobleme, Schwellungen und/oder Hautrötungen). Wenn solche oder weitere Nebenwirkungen auftreten, bei denen Sie einen Zusammenhang mit der Anwendung von Ciloxan Augensalbe vermuten, bitte unverzüglich Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. Ärztin oder Apothekerin konsultieren.

Wenn Sie Nebenwirkungen bemerken, die hier nicht beschrieben sind, sollten Sie Ihren Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. Ihre Ärztin oder Apothekerin informieren.

+-Was ist ferner zu beachten?

Hinweise zur Anwendung

Sterilität:

Um eine mögliche mikrobielle Verunreinigung (Kontamination) der Augensalbe zu vermeiden, die Tubenspitze weder mit Ihren Händen noch mit den Augen berühren. Tube nach Gebrauch sofort gut verschliessen und immer gut verschlossen halten.

Haltbarkeit:

Nur bis zum Verfalldatum (siehe Packung «Verwendbar bis») anwenden. Inhalt nach Anbruch der Tube nicht länger als 30 Tage verwenden.

Aufbewahrung/Lagerung:

Tube bei Raumtemperatur (15-25 °C) aufbewahren, vor möglicher Wärme und Lichteinwirkung geschützt, ausser Reichweite von Kindern.

Überdosierung:

Sollten Sie eine zu grosse Menge Ciloxan Augensalbe ins Auge eingebracht haben, die überschüssige Salbe mit lauwarmem Wasser ausspülen.

Bitte nach Beendigung der Behandlung jede Tube mit restlicher Augensalbe Ihrer Abgabestelle (Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. Ärztin oder Apothekerin) zur fachgerechten Entsorgung bringen. Weitere Auskünfte erteilt Ihnen Ihr Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. Ihre Ärztin oder Apothekerin. Diese Personen verfügen über die ausführliche Fachinformation.

1 g Ciloxan Augensalbe enthält: 3,5 mg Ciprofloxacin-Hydrochlorid (= 3 mg Ciprofloxacin-Base), Hilfsstoffe zur Herstellung von Augensalbe.
