Cortinasal enthält den Wirkstoff Budesonid, der zur Gruppe der sogenannten Kortikosteroide gehört. Budesonid hat eine entzündungshemmende Wirkung und dient zur Behandlung von saisonalem und ganzjährigem allergischem sowie nichtallergischem Schnupfen, Heuschnupfen und saisonunabhängigem Schnupfen. Cortinasal wird auch zur Behandlung von Nasenpolypen angewendet.
Cortinasal darf nur auf Verschreibung und unter ständiger Kontrolle einer Ärztin oder eines Arztes verwendet werden.
Cortinasal darf bei bekannter Überempfindlichkeit gegenüber dem Wirkstoff Budesonid oder einem der Hilfsstoffe nicht angewendet werden.
Wegen mangelnder Erfahrung darf Cortinasal nicht bei Kindern unter 6 Jahren angewendet werden.
Bei Virus- und Pilzinfektionskrankheiten der Nase sollte Cortinasal nur angewendet werden, wenn gleichzeitig eine virusbekämpfende oder pilzabtötende Behandlung durchgeführt wird. Wenn Sie an einer Erkrankung der Leber leiden oder Sie an einer Turberkulose erkrankt sind, ist es wichtig, dass Sie den Arzt bzw. die Ärztin darüber in Kenntnis setzen.
Kinder dürfen nur unter Aufsicht von Erwachsenen und Befolgung der ärztlichen Anweisung Cortinasal anwenden.
Bei übermässigem Gebrauch oder Langzeitanwendung bei Kindern kann die Möglichkeit einer Wachstumsverzögerung nicht ausgeschlossen werden. Der Arzt bzw. die Ärztin wird deshalb die Wachstumsentwicklung von Kindern, welche über eine längere Zeit mit Cortinasal behandelt werden, sorgfältig beobachten.
Bei gleichzeitiger Einnahme gewisser Arzneimittel über eine längere Zeit zur Behandlung von Pilzerkrankungen (z.B. mit dem Wirkstoff Ketoconazol) ist Vorsicht geboten.
Informieren Sie Ihren Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. Ihre Ärztin oder Apothekerin, wenn Sie an anderen Krankheiten leiden, Allergien haben oder andere Arzneimittel (auch selbstgekaufte!) einnehmen oder äusserlich anwenden!
Während der Schwangerschaft oder in der Stillzeit darf Cortinasal nur auf ausdrückliche Anordnung der Ärztin oder des Arztes hin eingesetzt werden.
Vor der ersten Anwendung wird empfohlen, die Gebrauchsanweisung aufmerksam zu lesen und die Instruktionen genau zu befolgen.
Üblicherweise gilt für Erwachsene, ältere Patientinnen und Patienten und Kinder über 6 Jahren folgende Dosierung:
Zum Beginn der Behandlung je 2 Sprühstösse Cortinasal 100 morgens in jedes Nasenloch sprühen oder 2 mal täglich je 2 Sprühstösse Cortinasal 50, morgens und abends, in jedes Nasenloch sprühen (400 µg Budesonid pro Tag entsprechend).
Sobald Sie eine Besserung bemerken, kann der behandelnde Arzt bzw. die behandelnde Ärztin die Dosis auf die kleinstmögliche Menge reduzieren.
Die maximal empfohlene Dosierung ist 400 µg, entsprechend zweimal täglich (morgens und abends) 1 Sprühstoss Cortinasal 100 oder 2 Sprühstösse Cortinasal 50 in jedes Nasenloch. Die Behandlung ist auf 3 Monate beschränkt.
Ändern Sie nicht von sich aus die verschriebene Dosierung. Wenn Sie glauben, das Arzneimittel wirke zu schwach oder zu stark, so sprechen Sie mit Ihrem Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. Ihrer Ärztin oder Apothekerin.
1. Nase sanft reinigen.
2. Dosierspray gut schütteln und Schutzkappe abnehmen.
3. Halten Sie den Dosierspray aufrecht zwischen den Fingern.
4. Den Nasenadapter abwechselnd zuerst in das linke und dann in das rechte Nasenloch einführen. Die jeweils entsprechende Anzahl Sprühstösse auslösen. Durch Niederdrücken des Sprühkopfes wird ein feiner Nebel freigesetzt.
5. Die Schutzkappe wieder aufsetzen.
Vielleicht fühlen Sie sich bereits während des ersten Tages, an dem Sie Cortinasal anwenden besser, aber die volle Wirksamkeit von Cortinasal tritt in der Regel erst 2 Wochen nach Behandlungsbeginn ein. Sollten Sie an Heuschnupfen leiden, empfiehlt es sich, einige Tage vor der Pollensaison die Ärztin oder den Arzt zu konsultieren, um die Behandlung mit Cortinasal rechtzeitig beginnen zu können.
Cortinasal vermindert allergisch bedingte Augensymptome nicht. Sollten Sie an Augensymptomen leiden, kann Ihnen von der Ärztin oder vom Arzt eventuell ein zusätzliches Arzneimittel verschrieben werden.
Zum Reinigen wird die Schutzkappe entfernt und der Nasenadapter vom Vorratsbehälter weggezogen. Die Schutzkappe und den Nasenadapter spült man in warmem Wasser, evtl. mit Zusatz einer Seifenlösung.
Nach dem Trocknen werden der Nasenadapter und die Schutzkappe auf dem Vorratsbehälter wieder zusammengesetzt.
Folgende Nebenwirkungen können bei der Anwendung von Cortinasal auftreten:
Vereinzelt kann es zu nasalen Reizungen kommen.
Gelegentlich kann leichtes Nasenbluten auftreten. In seltenen Fällen können auch Hautreaktionen wie Hautausschlag, Juckreiz, Schwellungen im Gesicht auftreten. In äusserst seltenen Fällen wurden nach der Anwendung von Cortinasal Geschwüre (Ulcerationen) der Nasenschleimhaut festgestellt.
Falls Sie irgendein Krankheitszeichen beobachten, welches Sie mit dem Gebrauch dieses Arzneimittels verbinden, sollte Sie Ihren Arzt oder Ihre Ärztin davon in Kenntnis setzen.
Wenn Sie Nebenwirkungen bemerken, die hier nicht beschrieben sind, sollten Sie Ihren Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. Ihre Ärztin oder Apothekerin informieren.
Cortinasal sollte bei 15?25 °C und ausser Reichweite von Kindern aufbewahrt werden. Cortinasal darf nicht gefrieren.
Die Schutzkappe muss nach jedem Gebrauch wieder auf den Dosierspray aufgesetzt werden.
Das Arzneimittel darf nur bis zu dem auf dem Behälter mit «EXP.» bezeichnetem Datum verwendet werden.
Falls Sie im Besitz eines verfallenen Cortinasal Dosierspray sind, bringen Sie diesen zur Entsorgung in die Apotheke zurück.
Weitere Auskünfte erteilt Ihnen Ihr Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. Ihre Ärztin oder Apothekerin. Diese Personen verfügen über die ausführliche Fachinformation.
