Dequonal ist eine gebrauchsfertige Lösung, deren Wirkstoffe gegen gewisse im Mund- und Rachenraum vorkommenden Krankheitserreger, wie Bakterien, Pilze und Viren, wirksam sind. Dequonal wird deshalb zur lokalen Behandlung von akuten entzündlichen Erkrankungen im Mund- und Rachenraum, wie Bläschen an der Mundschleimhaut (Aphthen), Entzündungen an Zahnfleisch, Mundschleimhaut und Zunge angewendet.
Im weiteren kann Dequonal unterstützend bei Hals- und Schluckschmerzen, Mandel- und Rachenentzündungen sowie Zahnbetterkrankungen, Pilzerkrankungen (Soor) und Zahnfleischbluten angewendet werden.
Dequonal steht in zwei Darreichungsformen zur Verfügung: die Dequonal Gurgellösung zum Mundspülen und Gurgeln und die Dequonal Sprühlösung, mit der vor allem tiefer im Rachen liegende Entzündungen behandelt werden können.?
Dequonal darf nicht angewendet werden bei einer bekannten Überempfindlichkeit gegenüber einem der Inhaltsstoffe, bei Säuglingen und Kleinkindern unter 2 Jahren (Gefahr eines Kehlkopfkrampfes durch Levomenthol), bei Patienten mit Bronchialasthma oder anderen Atemwegserkrankungen, die mit einer ausgeprägten Überempfindlichkeit der Atemwege einhergehen.
Die Inhalation von Dequonal kann aufgrund des Gehalts an Levomenthol zu Atemnot führen oder einen Asthmaanfall auslösen.
Dequonal darf nicht auf Wunden angewendet werden.
Zum Gurgeln oder Spülen sollte Dequonal nur dann angewendet werden, wenn der Patient bzw. die Patientin die Gurgeltechnik beherrscht. Daher ist die Anwendung bei Kindern unter 6 Jahren nicht geeignet.
Patienten bzw. Patientinnen mit allergischen Kontaktallergien sollten Dequonal nicht anwenden, da eine Sensibilisierung möglich ist.
Augenkontakt ist zu vermeiden.
Schwere Mandel- und Rachenentzündungen, z.B. Angina, können mit Fieber einhergehen. Bei höherem Fieber oder wenn innerhalb einer Woche keine Besserung eintritt, ist ein Arzt bzw. eine Ärztin aufzusuchen.
Das Arzneimittel enthält 6 Vol.-% Alkohol.
Informieren Sie Ihren Arzt, Apotheker oder Drogisten bzw. Ihre Ärztin, Apothekerin oder Drogistin, wenn Sie an anderen Krankheiten leiden, Allergien haben oder andere Arzneimittel (auch selbstgekaufte!) anwenden. ?
Es liegen keine ausreichenden Daten zur Sicherheit einer Anwendung bei Schwangeren vor. Daher sollten Sie Dequonal während der Schwangerschaft nicht anwenden, es sei denn, auf ärztliche Verschreibung.
Während der Stillzeit sollten Sie Dequonal nicht anwenden.
?Erwachsene: Morgens, abends und nach den Mahlzeiten etwa 20?30 Sekunden lang mit unverdünntem Dequonal ? pro Anwendung 1 Esslöffel voll ? gurgeln (bei Rachenentzündung) oder spülen (bei Erkrankungen der Mundhöhle). ?
?Dequonal Sprühlösung
?Erwachsene: Alle 2 Stunden, in schweren Fällen auch häufiger, die Dequonal Sprühlösung bei angehaltenem Atem in Mund und Rachen sprühen. Pro Anwendung 3?5 Sprühstösse. Sprühventil jeweils bis zum Anschlag niederdrücken (pumpen!).
Zum Spülen oder Gurgeln sollte Dequonal nur angewendet werden, wenn der Patient bzw. die Patientin die Gurgeltechnik beherrscht.
Die Anwendung und Sicherheit von Dequonal bei Kindern und Jugendlichen ist bisher nicht geprüft worden. ?
Aufgrund der Gefahr des versehentlichen Verschluckens wird die Anwendung bei Kindern unter 6 Jahren nicht empfohlen.
Halten Sie sich an die in der Packungsbeilage angegebene oder vom Arzt oder der Ärztin verschriebene Dosierung. Wenn Sie glauben, das Arzneimittel wirke zu schwach oder zu stark, so sprechen Sie mit Ihrem Arzt, Apotheker oder Drogisten bzw. mit Ihrer Ärztin, Apothekerin oder Drogistin. ?
Folgende Nebenwirkungen können bei der Anwendung von Dequonal auftreten:
Verfärbung an Zähnen, Zunge und Prothese, Geschmacksstörungen, Überempfindlichkeit gegenüber einem der Inhaltsstoffe, lokale allergische und nicht allergische Reaktionen (z.B. Schwellung, Quaddeln, Schleimhautreizungen, Juckreiz, vereinzelt auch mit Anschwellung der Rachenschleimhaut und Verlegung der Atemwege), anaphylaktische Reaktionen (mit Begleitsymptomen), Verzögerung der Wundheilung bei Anwendung auf Wunden.
Wenn Sie Nebenwirkungen bemerken, die hier nicht beschrieben sind, sollten Sie Ihren Arzt, Apotheker oder Drogisten bzw. Ihre Ärztin, Apothekerin oder Drogistin informieren.
Bewahren Sie Dequonal in der verschlossenen Originalpackung an einem für Kinder unerreichbaren Ort auf.
Das Arzneimittel darf nur bis zu dem auf dem Behälter mit «verwendbar bis» bezeichneten Datum verwendet werden.
Dequonal Lösung soll bei Raumtemperatur (15?25 °C) aufbewahrt werden. Vor Licht schützen.
Weitere Auskünfte erteilt Ihnen Ihr Arzt, Apotheker oder Drogist bzw. Ihre Ärztin, Apothekerin oder Drogistin. Diese Personen verfügen über die ausführliche Fachinformation.
Dequonal enthält pro 1 g Lösung als Wirkstoffe 0,15 mg Dequaliniumchlorid und 0,35 mg Benzalkoniumchlorid, Aromastoffe und Hilfsstoffe.
Enthält 6 Vol.-% Alkohol.
Die Dequonal Lösung schmeckt süsslich, nach Pfefferminz und Fenchel. Die Sprühflasche enthält kein Treibgas.
