Donepezil Helvepharm soll bei Kindern und Jugendlichen nicht angewendet werden.
Unter gewissen Bedingungen soll Donepezil Helvepharm nur mit Vorsicht angewendet werden. Deshalb sollten Sie lhren Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. Ihre Ärztin oder Apothekerin darüber informieren, wenn Sie:
Dieses Arzneimittel kann die Reaktionsfähigkeit, die Fähigkeit Maschinen oder Werkzeuge zu bedienen und die Fahrtüchtigkeit beeinträchtigen. Die Einnahme von Donepezil Helvepharm kann insbesondere bei Behandlungsbeginn und Dosissteigerung zu Müdigkeit, Schwindel und Muskelkrämpfen führen. Auch die Alzheimer Demenz kann die Fähigkeit, ein Auto zu lenken oder eine Maschine zu bedienen, beeinträchtigen. Ihr Arzt bzw. Ihre Ärztin sollte daher Ihre Fähigkeit, diese Tätigkeiten zu verrichten, regelmässig überprüfen.
Informieren Sie Ihren Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. Ihre Ärztin oder Apothekerin, wenn Sie
Informieren Sie unverzüglich Ihren Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. Ihre Ärztin oder Apothekerin, wenn Sie Fieber mit Muskelsteifheit, Schwitzen oder reduziertem Bewusstseinszustand entwickeln (Symptome die auf eine Krankheit, welche man als «malignes neuroleptisches Syndrom») bezeichnet, hinweisen können.
Informieren Sie Ihren Arzt bzw. Ihre Ärztin, wenn Sie schwanger sind oder wenn Sie es werden könnten. Donepezil Helvepharm darf während der Schwangerschaft nicht angewendet werden, ausser wenn dies von Ihrem Arzt oder Ihrer Ärztin ausdrücklich verordnet wird.
Es ist nicht bekannt, ob Donepezil in die Muttermilch übergeht. Donepezil Helvepharm darf deshalb von stillenden Frauen nicht angewendet werden.
Die Tabletten-Stärke, die Sie einnehmen, kann sich in Abhängigkeit von der Dauer der bereits durchgeführten Behandlung und basierend auf der Verschreibung Ihres Arztes bzw. Ihrer Ärztin ändern.
Falls von Ihrem Arzt bzw. von Ihrer Ärztin nicht anders verordnet, werden Sie am Anfang der Behandlung jeden Abend unmittelbar vor dem Schlafengehen eine weisse 5 mg Filmtablette einnehmen. Im weiteren Behandlungsverlauf (aber nicht früher als einen Monat nach Behandlungsbeginn) kann Ihr Arzt bzw. Ihre Ärztin Ihnen empfehlen, eine gelbe 10 mg Filmtablette jeden Abend unmittelbar vor dem Schlafengehen einzunehmen. Die maximal empfohlene Tagesdosis beträgt 10 mg.
Schlucken Sie die Donepezil Helvepharm Filmtabletten mit etwas Wasser.
Halten Sie sich immer an die Anweisungen Ihres Arztes bzw. Ihrer Ärztin, wie und wann Sie Ihr Arzneimittel einnehmen sollen. Ändern Sie nicht von sich aus die verschriebene Dosierung. Wenn Sie glauben, das Arzneimittel wirke zu schwach oder zu stark, so sprechen Sie mit Ihrem Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. mit Ihrer Ärztin oder Apothekerin. Brechen Sie die Tabletteneinnahme nur ab, wenn es Ihr Arzt bzw. Ihre Ärztin verordnet hat.
Sie sollten nicht mehr als eine Filmtablette pro Tag einnehmen. Wenn Sie zu viele Tabletten eingenommen haben, müssen Sie Ihren Arzt bzw. Ihre Ärztin unverzüglich informieren oder das nächste Spital kontaktieren.
Wenn Sie die Einnahme einer Tablette vergessen haben, nehmen Sie die nächste Tablette am folgenden Tag zur gewohnten Zeit ein. Wenn Sie mehr als eine Woche die Einnahme Ihrer Tabletten vergessen haben, telefonieren Sie Ihrem Arzt bzw. Ihrer Ärztin, bevor Sie weitere Tabletten einnehmen.
In klinischen Studien wurde eine Verbesserung frühestens drei Wochen nach Behandlungsbeginn beobachtet. Das Ansprechen auf eine Behandlung kann jedoch individuell unterschiedlich sein.
Die häufigsten Nebenwirkungen bei der Einnahme von Donepezil Helvepharm sind Durchfall, Übelkeit und Kopfschmerzen sowie Muskelkrämpfe, Müdigkeit, Erbrechen und Schlaflosigkeit. In den meisten Fällen waren die unerwünschten Wirkungen mild, dauerten eine kurze Zeit und verschwanden ohne Behandlungsabbruch.
Folgende weitere Nebenwirkungen können bei der Einnahme von Donepezil Helvepharm auftreten:
Häufig (bei weniger als 1 von 10 behandelten Patienten oder Patientinnen): Erkältung, Halluzinationen, ungewöhnliche Träume und Albträume, Erregungszustände, aggressives Verhalten, Ohnmacht, Schwindel, Schlaflosigkeit, Müdigkeit, Schmerzen, Muskelkrämpfe, Unfälle (eventuell erhöhte Gefahr für Stürze oder zufällige Verletzungen), Appetitlosigkeit, Erbrechen, Magen-Darm-Beschwerden, unfreiwilliger Harnabgang, Hautausschlag, Juckreiz.
Gelegentlich (bei weniger als 1 von 100 behandelten Patienten oder Patientinnen): Krampfanfälle, verlangsamter Herzschlag, Magen- oder Zwölffingerdarmgeschwür (dabei kann es zu Schmerzen im Bereich zwischen Brustbein und Nabel und zu Verdauungsstörungen kommen), Blutungen im Magen oder Darm (dabei kann es zu schwarzem teerartigem Stuhl oder zu einer sichtbaren Blutung aus dem After kommen), geringe Erhöhung der Muskelwerte im Blut (Kreatinkinase).
Selten (bei weniger als 1 von 1000 behandelten Patienten oder Patientinnen): Herzrhythmusstörungen, Steifheit, Zittern oder unkontrollierte Bewegungen, vor allem von Gesicht und Zunge, aber auch von Gliedmassen, Leberfunktionsstörungen einschliesslich Hepatitis (Entzündung der Leber; dabei kann es zu Übelkeit oder Erbrechen, Appetitlosigkeit, allgemeinem Unwohlsein, Fieber, Juckreiz, Gelbfärbung von Haut und Augen und Dunkelfärbung des Harns kommen).
Sehr selten (bei weniger als 1 von 10000 behandelten Patienten oder Patientinnen): Malignes neuroleptisches Syndrom, das unter anderem folgende Symptome aufweisen kann: Fieber mit Muskelsteifheit, Schwitzen oder reduziertem Bewusstseinszustand.
Informieren Sie Ihren Arzt bzw. Ihre Ärztin, wenn Sie unter den oben erwähnten Wirkungen leiden und wenn die Wirkungen für Sie zu unangenehm sind. Wenn Sie Nebenwirkungen bemerken, die hier nicht beschrieben sind, sollten Sie Ihren Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. Ihre Ärztin oder Apothekerin informieren.
Besonderheiten: Da der Wirkstoff sehr langsam im Körper abgebaut wird, können Herzrhythmusstörungen erst einige Zeit nach Einnahmebeginn auftreten, aber auch für längere Zeit nach Behandlungsende bestehen bleiben. Die Herzrhythmusstörungen gehen einher mit einer Verlangsamung des Herzschlages, was zu Schwindel und kurzen Bewusstseinsverlusten führen kann. Treten solche Erscheinungen bei Patienten auf, die mit Donepezil Helvepharm behandelt werden, ist der Arzt bzw. die Ärztin zu informieren.
Wie alle Arzneimittel soll Donepezil Helvepharm ausserhalb der Reichweite von Kindern an einem sicheren Platz aufbewahrt werden. Die Filmtabletten sollen bei Raumtemperatur (15?25 °C) aufbewahrt werden.
Das Arzneimittel darf nur bis zu dem auf der Packung mit «EXP» bezeichneten Datum verwendet werden. Die nicht verwendeten Filmtabletten sollten Sie Ihrer Apotheke zurückbringen.
Weitere Auskünfte erteilt Ihnen Ihr Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. Ihre Ärztin oder Apothekerin. Diese Personen verfügen über die ausführliche Fachinformation.
