Dukoral ist ein Schluckimpfstoff, der die Immunabwehr im Darm anregt. Der Impfstoff schützt Erwachsene und Kinder ab dem zweiten Geburtstag gegen Cholera und Reisedurchfall, der durch enterotoxische Escherichia coli (ETEC) verursacht wird. ETEC ist die häufigste Ursache für Reisedurchfall. Das Vorkommen von ETEC variiert je nach Jahreszeit und geographischen Regionen. Falls keine ETEC vorkommen, wirkt Dukoral nicht gegen Reisedurchfall.
Der Impfstoff ist eine weissliche Suspension und befindet sich in einer Flasche. Das Natriumhydrogenkarbonat ist ein weisses Brausegranulat mit Himbeeraroma in einem Beutel.
Auf Verschreibung des Arztes oder der Ärztin.
Bei Einnahme von Dukoral zusammen mit Nahrungsmitteln und Getränken:
1 Stunde vor bis zu 1 Stunde nach der Einnahme dürfen Sie weder Nahrungsmittel noch Getränke zu sich nehmen.
Es ist unwahrscheinlich, dass der Impfstoff Auswirkungen auf die Verkehrstüchtigkeit und das Bedienen von Maschinen hat.
Dukoral darf nicht eingenommen werden,
? wenn Sie allergisch gegenüber einem Bestandteil des Impfstoffs sind
? wenn Sie akute Magenbeschwerden oder eine Infektion mit Fieber haben (in dem Fall muss die Impfung auf einen späteren Zeitpunkt verschoben werden).
Besondere Vorsicht bei der Einnahme von Dukoral ist erforderlich,
? wenn Sie allergisch gegen Formaldehyd sind.
Informieren Sie Ihren Arzt, Apotheker bzw. Ärztin, Apothekerin, wenn Sie an anderen Krankheiten leiden, Allergien haben oder andere Arzneimittel (auch selbstgekaufte) einnehmen oder äusserlich anwenden.
Auf Grund der bisherigen Erfahrung ist bei bestimmungsgemässer Anwendung kein Risiko für das Kind bekannt. Systematische wissenschaftliche Untersuchungen wurden aber nie durchgeführt.
Vorsichtshalber sollten Sie während der Schwangerschaft und Stillzeit möglichst auf Arzneimittel verzichten oder den Arzt, den Apotheker bzw. die Ärztin, die Apothekerin um Rat fragen.
Erwachsene und Kinder ab dem zweiten Geburtstag: Die Erstimpfung erfolgt in 2 Dosen. Die Dosen müssen in einem Abstand von mindestens 1 Woche eingenommen werden.
Der Schutz gegen Cholera und ETEC-Durchfall beginnt etwa 1 Woche nach Abschluss der Erstimpfung.
Um einen dauerhaften Schutz gegen Cholera und ETEC zu erzielen, ist eine einzelne Auffrischimpfung nach 3 Monaten empfohlen. Eine spätere Auffrischimpfung kann bis 5 Jahre nach der Erstimpfung einen 3-monatigen Schutz gegen Cholera und ETEC bewirken.
Der Impfstoff bietet keinen vollständigen Schutz. Deshalb ist es wichtig, die entsprechenden Ernährungs- und Hygienevorschriften zu beachten, um Durchfallerkrankungen zu vermeiden.
1. Brausegranulat in einem Glas kaltem Wasser (etwa 150 ml) auflösen. Bei Kindern von 2?6 Jahren die Hälfte der Lösung weggiessen.
2. Die Flasche mit dem Impfstoff schütteln (1 Flasche = 1 Dosis).
3. Impfstoff zu der Natriumhydrogenkarbonat-Lösung hinzufügen. Gut mischen und die Mischung trinken.
Ändern Sie nicht von sich aus die verschriebene Dosierung. Wenn Sie glauben, das Arzneimittel wirke zu schwach oder zu stark, so sprechen Sie mit Ihrem Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. mit Ihrer Ärztin oder Apothekerin.
Folgende Nebenwirkungen können bei der Einnahme von Dukoral auftreten:
Gelegentliche Nebenwirkungen (beobachtet bei weniger als 1 von 100, jedoch bei mehr als 1 von 1000 Personen) sind: Durchfall, Bauchschmerzen, Bauchkrämpfe, Magengeräusche, Blähungen, Gase im Magen und allgemeine Magenbeschwerden, Kopfschmerzen.
Seltene Nebenwirkungen (beobachtet bei weniger als 1 von 1000, jedoch bei mehr als 1 von 10?000 Personen) sind: erhöhte Temperatur, allgemeines Unwohlsein, Übelkeit, Erbrechen, kein oder wenig Appetit, laufende Nase, Husten und Schwindel.
Sehr seltene Nebenwirkungen (beobachtet bei weniger als 1 von 10?000 Personen) sind: Erschöpfung/Schläfrigkeit, Frösteln, starker Durchfall, Gelenkschmerzen, Wundgefühl im Rachen, verminderter Geschmackssinn, Schwitzen, Schlaflosigkeit, allgemeine Schmerzen, Nesselausschlag, andere Arten von Ausschlag, erkältungsartige Symptome, Schwäche, Kältegefühl, Atemlosigkeit, Kribbeln, Dehydratation (Austrocknung des Körpers), Schwellungen im Gesicht, hoher Blutdruck, Atemwegskatarrh (mit verstärktem Auswurf), Juckreiz und Schwellungen der Lymphdrüsen.
Wenn Sie Nebenwirkungen bemerken, die hier nicht beschrieben sind, sollten Sie Ihren Arzt, Apotheker bzw. Ihre Ärztin, Apothekerin informieren.
Arzneimittel für Kinder unzugänglich aufbewahren.
Bei +2 °C ? +8 °C lagern (im Kühlschrank). Nicht einfrieren.
Trinken Sie den Impfstoff innerhalb von 2 Stunden, nachdem er mit der Natriumhydrogenkarbonat-Lösung gemischt wurde.
Das Arzneimittel darf nur bis zu dem auf dem Behälter mit «EXP» bezeichneten Datum verwendet werden.
Weitere Auskünfte erteilt Ihnen Ihr Arzt, Apotheker bzw. Ihre Ärztin, Apothekerin. Diese Personen verfügen über die ausführliche Fachinformation.
Die arzneilich wirksamen Bestandteile sind: Jeweils 31,25× 109 Bakterien* der folgenden V. cholerae O1 Stämme: Inaba, klassischer Biotyp (hitzeinaktiviert), Inaba El Tor-Biotyp (formalininaktiviert), Ogawa, klassischer Biotyp (hitzeinaktiviert), Ogawa, klassischer Biotyp (formalininaktiviert). Rekombinante Cholera-Toxin B Untereinheit (rCTB) 1 mg.

Die sonstigen Bestandteile in der Impfstoff-Suspension sind Natriumdihydrogenphosphat, Dinatriumhydrogenphosphat, Natriumchlorid und Wasser für Injektionszwecke.
Das Brausegranulat enthält Natriumhydrogenkarbonat, Zitronensäure, Natriumkarbonat, Saccharin, Natriumzitrat und Himbeeraroma.
