+-Was ist Edarbyclor und wann wird es angewendet?

Edarbyclor ist ein Arzneimittel, welches zwei Wirkstoffe enthält: Einen Angiotensin-Rezeptor-Blocker (Azilsartan medoxomil) und Chlortalidon, ein wassertreibendes Mittel (Diuretikum). Beide Wirkstoffe führen zur Senkung des Blutdruckes.

Edarbyclor wird zur Behandlung von hohem Blutdruck (Hypertonie) eingesetzt

wenn die Behandlung mit nur einem der beiden Wirkstoffe zur Senkung Ihres Blutdrucks nicht ausreicht.

Edarbyclor darf nur auf Verschreibung des Arztes bzw. der Ärztin angewendet werden.

+-Wann darf Edarbyclor nicht eingenommen werden?

Edarbyclor darf nicht eingenommen werden, wenn Sie:

  • Allergisch (überempfindlich) sind auf Azilsartan medoxomil, Chlortalidon oder einen der Hilfsstoffe von Edarbyclor,
  • schwanger sind
  • aufgrund von Nierenproblemen weniger Urin ausscheiden
  • an Diabetes mellitus oder eingeschränkter Nierenfunktion leiden und Sie Aliskiren (zur Behandlung von hohem Blutdruck) einnehmen.
+-Wann ist bei der Einnahme von Edarbyclor Vorsicht geboten?

Informieren Sie vor der Einnahme von Edarbyclor Ihren Arzt bzw. Ihre Ärztin, wenn Sie:

  • Nierenprobleme haben
  • vor kurzem eine Nierentransplantation erhalten haben.
  • eine schwere Lebererkrankung haben.
  • Probleme mit dem Herzen haben.
  • niedrigen Blutdruck haben oder sich benommen oder schwindelig fühlen.
  • erbrechen, vor kurzem starkes Erbrechen hatten oder wenn Sie unter Durchfall leiden.
  • eine Erkrankung der Nebennieren haben, die primärer Hyperaldosteronismus genannt wird.
  • von Ihrem Arzt bzw. Ihrer Ärztin informiert wurden, dass Ihre Herzklappen verengt sind (so genannte «Aorten- oder Mitralklappenstenose») oder wenn Sie einen krankhaft verdickten Herzmuskel haben (so genannte «hypertrophe obstruktive Kardiomyopathie»).
  • eine Leber- oder Nierenfunktionsstörung haben oder an Zuckerkrankheit (Diabetes mellitus) leiden, eine Herzkrankheit haben, oder an Lupus erythematodes leiden oder gelitten haben (mögliche Anzeichen: Ausschlag im Gesicht, Gelenkschmerzen, Muskelstörungen, Fieber).
  • einen tiefen Kalium-, Magnesium- oder Natrium-Wert oder einen hohen Kalzium-Wert im Blut haben.
  • einen hohen Harnsäurespiegel im Blut haben oder früher einmal Gicht (schmerzhafte und geschwollene Gelenke) hatten.
  • einen hohen Cholesteringehalt im Blut haben.
  • eine plötzliche Abnahme des Sehvermögens oder Augenschmerzen erleiden. Dies könnten Symptome eines Druckanstiegs in den Augen sein und typischerweise innert Stunden bis Wochen nach Behandlungsbeginn auftreten; unbehandelt kann dies zu Sehverlust führen.
  • an Allergien oder Asthma leiden.
  • eine Schwangerschaft planen (Siehe «Darf Edarbyclor während einer Schwangerschaft oder in der Stillzeit eingenommen werden?»);
  • stillen, oder vorhaben, Ihr Kind zu stillen (Siehe «Darf Edarbyclor während einer Schwangerschaft oder in der Stillzeit eingenommen werden?»).

Es ist nicht bekannt, ob Edarbyclor bei Kindern und Jugendlichen unter 18 Jahren sicher und wirksam ist. Daher sollte Edarbyclor nicht an Kinder oder Jugendliche verabreicht werden. 

Informieren Sie Ihren Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. Ihre Ärztin oder Apothekerin, wenn Sie folgende Arzneimittel einnehmen:

  • Lithium, Antidepressiva, Neuroleptika (Arzneimittel zur Behandlung gewisser psychischer Störungen).
  • Arzneimittel, die den Gehalt an Kalium im Blut beeinflussen. Dazu gehören kaliumsparende Arzneimittel und Kalium enthaltende Medikamente (zur Ergänzung oder Kaliumsalz-Substitution) sowie ACTH (Adenocorticotropes Hormon).
  • Arzneimittel gegen Schmerzen und Entzündungen, vor allem nichtsteroidale Antirheumatika (NSAR) wie Ibuprofen, Diclofenac und COX-2-Hemmer wie Celecoxib.
  • Aspirin (Acetylsalicylsäure) bei Einnahme von mehr als 3 g pro Tag (Arznei- mittel zur Schmerzlinderung und gegen Entzündungen).
  • Aliskiren oder andere den blutdrucksenkende Arzneimittel (z.B. Methyldopa).
  • Digoxin (Herzmittel) oder Arzneimittel gegen unregelmässigen Herzrhythmus (Antiarrythmika).
  • Antibiotika
  • Diuretika (Entwässerungstabletten).
  • Antiepileptika,
  • Arzneimittel mit einem Cortisonartigen Wirkstoff (Steroid),
  • Insulin oder orale Antidiabetika,
  • Cholestyramin und Colestipol, d.h. Ionenaustauscher zur Behandlung hoher Cholesterinwerte im Blut,
  • Vitamin D und Kalziumsalze,
  • Anticholinergika wie Atropinsulfat oder Hyoscinbutylbromid, die z.B. bei Magen-Darmkrämpfen, Harnblasenkrämpfen, Asthma, Reisekrankheit, Muskelkrämpfen eingesetzt werden,
  • Alkohol, Barbiturate und Betäubungsmittel (Mittel mit einschläfernden Eigenschaften). 

Vorsicht ist auch angebracht wenn Sie gleichzeitig zu Edarbyclor andere Arzneimittel anwenden wie z.B. Amantadin (Mittel zur Behandlung der Parkinson-Krankheit), Cyclosporin (Substanz zur Unterdrückung der Organabstossung nach Transplantationen), Curare-Derivate (Skelettmuskelrelaxantien), Allopurinol (Mittel gegen Gicht), Diazoxid oder Chemotherapie-Medikamente (Mittel gegen Krebs). 

Die Auswirkungen auf die Verkehrstüchtigkeit und das Bedienen von Maschinen wurden nicht untersucht und sind nicht bekannt. Bei einigen Personen kann es während der Einnahme von Edarbyclor zu Müdigkeit oder Benommenheit/Schwindel kommen. Sie dürfen sich nicht an das Steuer eines Fahrzeugs setzen und keine Werkzeuge oder Maschinen bedienen, wenn dies bei Ihnen der Fall ist. 

Informieren Sie Ihren Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. Ihre Ärztin oder Apothekerin, wenn Sie

  • an anderen Krankheiten leiden
  • Allergien haben oder
  • andere Arzneimittel (auch selbstgekaufte) einnehmen oder äusserlich anwenden!
+-Darf Edarbyclor während einer Schwangerschaft oder in der Stillzeit eingenommen werden?

Edarbyclor darf während der Schwangerschaft nicht angewendet werden. Edarbyclor kann Ihr ungeborenes Kind schwer schädigen oder seinen Tod verursachen. Sprechen Sie mit Ihrem Arzt bzw. Ihrer Ärztin über andere Möglichkeiten, Ihren Blutdruck zu senken, wenn Sie schwanger sind oder eine Schwangerschaft planen.

Edarbyclor wird nicht zur Anwendung bei stillenden Müttern empfohlen (der Wirkstoff Chlortalidon tritt in die Muttermilch über).

+-Wie verwenden Sie Edarbyclor?

Nehmen Sie Edarbyclor genau nach Anweisung Ihres Arztes bzw. Ihrer Ärztin ein.

Die empfohlene Dosierung ist 1 Filmtablette einmal täglich.

Edarbyclor kann unabhängig von den Mahlzeiten eingenommen werden.

Die Anwendung und Sicherheit von Edarbyclor bei Kindern und Jugendlichen unter 18 Jahren ist bisher nicht geprüft worden.

Wenn Sie vergessen haben, Edarbyclor einzunehmen, holen Sie dies am gleichen Tag nach. Nehmen Sie jedoch nicht mehr als 1 Dosis Edarbyclor pro Tag ein.

Wenn Sie zu viel Edarbyclor eingenommen haben und Anzeichen wie niedrigen Blutdruck (Hypotonie) und Schwindelgefühle bemerken, rufen Sie Ihren Arzt bzw. Ihre Ärztin an.

Ändern Sie nicht von sich aus die verschriebene Dosierung. Wenn Sie glauben, das Arzneimittel wirke zu schwach oder zu stark, so sprechen Sie mit Ihrem Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. Ihrer Ärztin oder Apothekerin.

+-Welche Nebenwirkungen kann Edarbyclor haben?

Wie alle Arzneimittel kann Edarbyclor Nebenwirkungen haben, die jedoch nicht bei allen auftreten müssen. 

Nehmen Sie Edarbyclor nicht weiter ein und wenden Sie sich möglichst umgehend an einen Arzt bzw. an eine Ärztin, wenn es bei Ihnen zu einer der folgenden allergischen Reaktionen kommt:

  • Atemprobleme
  • Anschwellen von Gesicht, Lippen, Zunge und/oder Rachen, das Schluckbeschwerden verursachen kann
  • Juckreiz der Haut mit Bläschenbildung. 

Weitere mögliche Nebenwirkungen sind:

  • Benommenheit, Schwindel (zum Teil beim Übergang vom Liegen zum Stehen)
  • Niedriger Blutdruck
  • Übelkeit
  • Verminderter Appetit
  • Bauchbeschwerden
  • Muskelkrämpfe
  • Müdigkeit
  • Erektionsschwierigkeiten
  • Nesselfieber (Urtikaria) 

Gelegentliche Nebenwirkungen:

  • Blutarmut
  • Ohnmachtsanfall
  • Durchfall
  • Hautausschlag
  • Juckreiz
  • Anstieg des Blutzuckers
  • Anschwellen von Händen und Füssen (periphere Ödeme)
  • Atem- oder Schluckstörungen oder Anschwellen von Gesicht, Händen und Füssen, Augen, Lippen und/oder Zunge (Angioödem) 

Seltene Nebenwirkungen:

  • Unregelmässiger Herzschlag
  • Erbrechen
  • Verstopfung
  • Taubheitsgefühl oder Prickeln an Händen, Füssen oder Lippen
  • Gelbfärbung der Augen oder der Haut (Gelbsucht)
  • Hautempfindlichkeit auf das Sonnenlicht, Fieber oder Frösteln
  • Verschlechterung der Zuckerkrankheit oder Gicht
  • Entzündung der Nieren oder Blutgefässe mit oder ohne Schmerz, Fieber oder Beschwerden beim Wasserlassen
  • Ungewöhnliche Blutungen oder blaue Hautflecken (Zeichen einer Thrombozytopenie)
  • Verschwommenes Sehen, Sehschwäche (Sehstörungen) 

Die folgenden Nebenwirkungen können mit unbekannter Häufigkeit auftreten: Nierenfunktionsstörungen, akutes Nierenversagen, Fieber, Grüner Star (Engwinkelglaukom), Überempfindlichkeitsreaktionen. 

Wenn Sie Nebenwirkungen bemerken, die hier nicht beschrieben sind, sollten Sie Ihren Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. Ihre Ärztin oder Apothekerin informieren.

+-Was ist ferner zu beachten?

Edarbyclor gut verschlossen, vor Licht und Feuchtigkeit geschützt und für Kinder unzugänglich aufbewahren. Nicht über 25 °C lagern.

Das Arzneimittel darf nur bis zu dem auf dem Behälter mit «EXP» bezeichneten Datum verwendet werden.
