+-Was ist Edurant und wann wird es angewendet?

Edurant ist ein Arzneimittel zur Behandlung einer HIV-1 (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) Infektion. Es gehört zu einer Gruppe von Anti-HIV-Arzneimitteln, die als Nichtnukleosidische Inhibitoren der Reversen Transkriptase (NNRTI) bezeichnet werden. Edurant wirkt, indem es die Zahl der HI-Viren in Ihrem Körper verringert. Dadurch wird Ihr Immunsystem gestärkt und das Risiko für die Entwicklung von HIV-bedingten Krankheiten gesenkt.

Edurant wird in Kombination mit anderen Arzneimitteln gegen HIV zur Behandlung von Erwachsenen eingesetzt, die HIV-1 infiziert sind und bisher nicht behandelt wurden.

Ihr Arzt oder Ihre Ärztin wird Sie darüber aufklären, welche Kombination von Arzneimitteln für Sie am besten geeignet ist.

+-Wann darf Edurant nicht angewendet werden?

Edurant darf nicht eingenommen werden, wenn Sie allergisch (überempfindlich) gegen Rilpivirin oder einen sonstigen Inhaltsstoff von Edurant sind.

+-Wann ist bei der Einnahme von Edurant Vorsicht geboten?

Edurant kann eine HIV-Infektion nicht heilen. Das Arzneimittel ist Teil einer Behandlung zur Reduktion der Virenanzahl im Blut. Edurant senkt nicht das Risiko einer Übertragung des HI-Virus durch Geschlechtsverkehr oder Kontakt mit kontaminiertem Blut. Sie müssen daher auch weiterhin geeignete Vorsichtsmassnahmen (z.B. Verwendung eines Kondoms) treffen, um beim Geschlechtsverkehr die Gefahr von Kontakt mit Körperflüssigkeiten, wie Samenflüssigkeit, vaginales Sekret oder Blut, einzudämmen.

Patienten, die Edurant einnehmen, können Infektionen oder andere Erkrankungen entwickeln, die in Zusammenhang mit HIV stehen. Gehen Sie regelmässig zum Arzt oder zur Ärztin.

Edurant ist nicht für die Anwendung bei Kindern oder Jugendlichen vorgesehen, da keine ausreichenden Studien mit Patienten im Alter von unter 18 Jahren durchgeführt wurden.

Edurant wurde nur bei einer begrenzten Anzahl von Patienten im Alter über 55 Jahren untersucht. Wenn Sie zu dieser Altersgruppe gehören, können Sie die Anwendung Edurant mit Ihrem Arzt oder Ihrer Ärztin besprechen.

Informieren Sie Ihren Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. Ihre Ärztin oder Apothekerin, wenn Sie an anderen Krankheiten leiden, Allergien haben oder andere Arzneimittel (auch selbstgekaufte!) einnehmen oder äusserlich anwenden!

Erklären Sie Ihrem Arzt oder Ihrer Ärztin Ihre Situation

Lesen Sie die folgenden Punkte und stellen Sie sicher, dass Sie Ihren Arzt oder Ihre Ärztin über die für Sie zutreffenden Punkte informieren.

Informieren Sie Ihren Arzt oder Ihre Ärztin, falls Sie Probleme mit der Leber haben oder in der Vergangenheit hatten, einschliesslich z.B. Hepatitis B- bzw. Hepatitis C-Infektion. Ihr Arzt oder Ihre Ärztin wird den Schweregrad Ihrer Lebererkrankung beurteilen und entscheiden, ob Sie Edurant einnehmen können.
Informieren Sie Ihren Arzt oder Ihre Ärztin, falls Sie Probleme mit der Niere haben.
Informieren Sie Ihren Arzt oder Ihre Ärztin, wenn Sie Veränderungen an Körperform oder Körperfett feststellen. Es kann zu einer Zunahme, einem Verlust oder einer anderen Verteilung des Körperfetts kommen, wenn Sie eine Kombination aus Arzneimitteln gegen HIV einnehmen.
Informieren Sie Ihren Arzt oder Ihre Ärztin umgehend, wenn Sie Symptome einer Infektion oder Entzündung feststellen. Bei einigen Patienten mit fortgeschrittener HIV-Infektion können Anzeichen und Symptome einer Infektion oder Entzündung nach Beginn der HIV-Behandlung auftreten. Es wird angenommen, dass diese Symptome auf die Verbesserung der Immunantwort des Körpers zurückzuführen sind.
Zusätzlich zu den Begleitinfektionen können nach Beginn der Einnahme von Arzneimitteln zur Behandlung Ihrer HIV-Infektion auch Autoimmunerkrankungen auftreten (ein Zustand, bei dem das Immunsystem gesundes Körpergewebe angreift). Autoimmunerkrankungen können viele Monate nach Beginn der Behandlung auftreten. Wenn Sie irgendwelche Anzeichen einer Infektion oder andere Symptome, wie z.B. Muskelschwäche, eine Schwäche, die in den Händen und Füssen beginnt und sich in Richtung Rumpf fortsetzt, Herzklopfen, Zittern oder Hyperaktivität bemerken, informieren Sie bitte unverzüglich Ihren Arzt bzw. Ihre Ärztin, um die notwendige Behandlung zu erhalten.

Einnahme von Edurant mit anderen Arzneimitteln:

Bitte informieren Sie Ihren Arzt oder Ihre Ärztin, wenn Sie andere Arzneimittel einnehmen, auch wenn es sich um nicht verschreibungspflichtige Arzneimittel handelt (wie z.B. rezeptfreie pflanzliche Mittel).

Einige Arzneimittel können die Konzentration von Edurant im Körper beeinflussen, wenn sie gleichzeitig mit Edurant eingenommen werden.

Edurant kann mit den meisten Arzneimitteln gegen HIV kombiniert werden. Allerdings sind manche Kombinationen nicht empfehlenswert. Ihr Arzt oder Ihre Ärztin wird Sie darüber informieren, welche Arzneimittel gegen HIV gemeinsam mit Edurant eingenommen werden können. Befolgen Sie genau die Anweisungen Ihres Arztes oder Ihrer Ärztin.

Edurant darf nicht mit den folgenden Arzneimitteln kombiniert werden:

Einige dieser Arzneimittel sind rezeptfrei erhältlich, andere werden unter einer anderen Bezeichnung vertrieben.Lesen Sie daher die Packungsbeilagen dieser Arzneimittel sorgfältig durch:

Nicht-Nukleosidale Reverse-Transkriptase-Inhibitoren (NNRTI) (Arzneimittel gegen HIV)
Rifampicin und Rifapentin (Arzneimittel zur Behandlung von bakteriellen Infektionen, wie Tuberkulose)
Carbamazepin, Oxcarbazepin, Phenobarbital, Phenytoin (Arzneimittel zur Behandlung von Epilepsie und zur Vorbeugung von epileptischen Anfällen)
Dexamethason (Kortikosteroid zur Behandlung verschiedener Erkrankungen und Beschwerden, wie Entzündungen und allergische Reaktionen) bei oraler Aufnahme oder Injektion
Produkte, die Johanniskraut (Hypericum perforatum) enthalten (ein pflanzliches Produkt zur Behandlung von Depressionen)
Omeprazol, Lansoprazol, Rabeprazol, Pantoprazol, Esomeprazol (Arzneimittel zur Vorbeugung und Behandlung von Magenulzera, Sodbrennen oder Refluxkrankheit)

Fragen Sie Ihren Arzt oder Ihre Ärztin, bevor Sie eines der oben genannten Arzneimittel einnehmen.

Die Wirkung von Edurant oder anderen Arzneimittel kann beeinflusst werden, wenn Sie Edurant in Kombination mit einem der folgenden Arzneimittel einnehmen. Informieren Sie Ihren Arzt oder Ihre Ärztin, wenn Sie folgende Arzneimittel einnehmen:

Rifabutin (ein Arzneimittel zur Behandlung bestimmter bakterieller Infektionen)
Clarithromycin, Erythromycin (Antibiotika)
Cimetidin, Famotidin, Nizatidin, Ranitidin (Antihistaminika zur Behandlung von Magen- oder Darmulzera oder zur Linderung der Beschwerden bei durch Reflux von Magensäure verursachtem Sodbrennen)
Antazida (z.B. Aluminium- oder Magnesiumhydroxid, Calciumcarbonat)
Methadon

Einnahme von Edurant zusammen mit Nahrungsmitteln und Getränken:

Edurant muss mit einer Mahlzeit eingenommen werden. Die Mahlzeit ist wichtig, um die richtige Konzentration des Arzneimittels in Ihrem Körper zu gewährleisten. Ein Proteingetränk kann eine Mahlzeit hier nicht ersetzen.

Verkehrstüchtigkeit und das Bedienen von Maschinen:

Edurant hat keinen bzw. einen unwesentlichen Einfluss auf die Verkehrstüchtigkeit und die Fähigkeit zum Bedienen von Maschinen.

+-Darf Edurant während einer Schwangerschaft oder in der Stillzeit eingenommen werden?

Informieren Sie Ihren Arzt oder Ihre Ärztin umgehend, wenn Sie schwanger sind. Schwangere Frauen sollten Edurant nicht einnehmen, sofern dies nicht vom Arzt oder der Ärztin angeordnet wurde.

HIV-infizierte Mütter dürfen nicht stillen, da sonst die Gefahr einer HIV-Infektion des Säuglings über die Muttermilch besteht.

Fragen Sie vor der Einnahme von allen Arzneimitteln Ihren Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. Ihre Ärztin oder Apothekerin um Rat.

+-Wie verwenden Sie Edurant?

Nehmen Sie Edurant immer genau nach den Anweisungen des Arztes oder der Ärztin ein. Bitte fragen Sie bei Ihrem Arzt oder Ihrer Ärztin nach, wenn Sie sich nicht ganz sicher sind.

Anweisungen zur richtigen Anwendung

Die empfohlene Dosis ist einmal täglich eine Edurant Filmtablette.

Edurant muss immer mit einer Mahlzeit eingenommen werden. Eine Mahlzeit ist wichtig, um die richtigen Wirkstoffspiegel in Ihrem Körper zu erreichen. Ein nahrhaftes Getränk (z.B. proteinreich) allein ersetzt eine Mahlzeit nicht.

Ändern Sie nicht von sich aus die verschriebene Dosierung. Wenn Sie glauben, das Arzneimittel wirke zu schwach oder zu stark, so sprechen Sie mit Ihrem Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. mit Ihrer Ärztin oder Apothekerin.

Entfernen des Kindersicherheitsverschlusses

Die Kunststoffflasche wird mit einem Kindersicherheitsverschluss geliefert und sollte wie folgt geöffnet werden:

Den Kunststoffverschluss nach unten drücken und gleichzeitig entgegen dem Uhrzeigersinn drehen.
Den Verschluss abnehmen.

Wenn Sie Rifabutin einnehmen (ein Arzneimittel zur Behandlung bestimmter bakterieller Infektionen) nehmen Sie zwei Filmtabletten Edurant einmal täglich ein. Wenn Sie aufhören, Rifabutin einzunehmen, nehmen Sie eine Filmtablette Edurant einmal täglich ein. Sprechen Sie mit Ihrem Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. Ihrer Ärztin oder Apothekerin, wenn Sie nicht ganz sicher sind.

Wenn Sie ein Antazidum einnehmen (ein Arzneimittel zur Behandlung von Erkrankungen, die durch Magensäure verursacht werden [wie z.B. Aluminum- oder Magnesiumhydroxid, Calciumcarbonat]), nehmen Sie das Antazidum mindestens 2 Stunden vor bzw. mindestens 4 Stunden nach der Einnahme von Edurant ein.

Wenn Sie einen H₂-Rezeptor-Antagonisten einnehmen (Arzneimittel zur Behandlung von Magenulzera, Sodbrennen oder Refluxkrankheit [wie z.B. Cimetidin, Famotidin, Nizatidin oder Raniditin]), nehmen Sie den H₂-Rezeptor-Antagonisten mindestens 12 Stunden vor bzw. frühestens 4 Stunden nach der Einnahme von Edurant ein. H₂-Rezeptor-Antagonisten sollten nicht zweimal täglich eingenommen werden. Sprechen Sie mit Ihrem Arzt bzw. Ihrer Ärztin über ein alternatives Einnahmeschema.

Wenn Sie eine grössere Menge von Edurant eingenommen haben, als Sie sollten

Wenden Sie sich umgehend an Ihren Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. an Ihre Ärztin oder Apothekerin. Im Fall einer Überdosierung können Sie Kopfschmerzen, Übelkeit, Schwindel und/oder abnorme Träume bekommen.

Wenn Sie die Einnahme von Edurant vergessen haben

Wenn Sie die Einnahme innerhalb von 12 Stunden nach der gewohnten Zeit für die Einnahme von Edurant vergessen haben, müssen Sie die Tablette so bald wie möglich einnehmen. Nehmen Sie die Tablette stets mit einer Mahlzeit ein. Nehmen Sie die nächste Dosis zur gewohnten Zeit ein.

Wenn Sie die Einnahme länger als 12 Stunden nach der gewohnten Einnahmezeit vergessen haben, lassen Sie diese Einnahme aus und nehmen Sie die nächste Dosis zur gewohnten Zeit ein. Nehmen Sie nicht die doppelte Dosis, wenn Sie die vorherige Einnahme vergessen haben.

Setzen Sie Edurant nicht ab, ohne vorher mit dem Arzt oder der Ärztin zu sprechen.

Die HIV-Therapie kann Ihr Wohlbefinden verbessern. Aber auch wenn sich Ihr Wohlbefinden verbessert hat, sollten Sie Edurant oder andere HIV-Arzneimittel nicht absetzen. Denn sonst könnte sich das Risiko der Entwicklung einer Virusresistenz erhöhen. Sprechen Sie zuerst mit Ihrem Arzt oder Ihrer Ärztin.

Bei weiteren Fragen zur Anwendung dieses Präparats wenden Sie sich an Ihren Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. an Ihre Ärztin oder Apothekerin.

+-Welche Nebenwirkungen kann Edurant haben?

Wie alle Arzneimittel kann Edurant Nebenwirkungen haben, die aber nicht bei jedem auftreten müssen.

Sehr häufige Nebenwirkungen (mehr als 1 von 10 Behandelten)

Erhöhte Cholesterin und/oder Pankreasamylasewerte in Ihrem Blut
Veränderungen bei einem der Werte Ihrer Routine-Leberuntersuchungen (Transaminase)
Probleme beim Einschlafen (Insomnie), Schlafstörungen
Kopfschmerzen, Schwindel
Übelkeit

Häufige Nebenwirkungen (weniger als 1 von 10 Behandelten)

Tiefe Anzahl weisser Blutkörperchen und/oder Blutplättchen, erniedrigtes Hämoglobin in Ihrem Blut, erhöhte Werte von Triglyceriden (einem Blutfett), von Lipase und/oder Bilirubin in Ihrem Blut
verminderter Appetit
Depression, depressive Verstimmung
anormale Träume, Schlafstörung
Schläfrigkeit
Magenschmerzen, Erbrechen, Magenbeschwerden, Mundtrockenheit
Hautausschlag
Müdigkeit

Das Arzneimittel darf nur bis zu dem auf dem Behälter mit «EXP» bezeichneten Datum verwendet werden. Das Verfalldatum bezieht sich auf den letzten Tag des Monats.

Edurant-Tabletten in der Originalverpackung bei 15-30 °C lagern.

+-Was ist in Edurant enthalten?

Eine Edurant Filmtablette enthält Rilpivirinhydrochlorid entsprechend 25 mg Rilpivirin als Wirkstoff. Hilfsstoffe: Laktose, Croscarmellose-Natrium (aus gentechnisch veränderten Baumwollsamenkapseln hergestellt) und weitere Hilfsstoffe. Die Filmtablette ist weiss, rund, bikonvex mit der Einprägung «TMC» auf der einen Seite und der Einprägung «25» auf der anderen Seite.
