Fycompa gehört zu einer Gruppe von Arzneimitteln, die Antiepileptika genannt werden. Es wird auf Verschreibung des Arztes oder der Ärztin zur Behandlung von Epilepsien eingesetzt, die einen Teil des Gehirns betreffen und fokale Anfälle genannt werden. Diesen können Anfälle folgen, die das ganze Gehirn betreffen (sekundäre Generalisierung). Fycompa wird bei Patienten und Patientinnen ab 12 Jahren eingesetzt.
Bei bekannter Überempfindlichkeit gegenüber dem Wirkstoff (Perampanel) oder einem der sonstigen Bestandteile von Fycompa;
bei schwereren Leberfunktionsstörungen;
bei schwereren Nierenproblemen.
Unter Fycompa können Sie sich schwindlig oder schläfrig fühlen, vor allem zu Behandlungsbeginn. Dies kann die Sturzgefahr erhöhen, insbesondere wenn Sie älter sind. Auch könnte Ihre Fähigkeit stark beeinträchtigt sein, am Strassenverkehr teilzunehmen oder Werkzeuge und Maschinen zu bedienen. Sie sollten daher auf diese Aktivitäten verzichten, bis Sie wissen, wie sich Fycompa bei Ihnen auswirkt.
Informieren Sie Ihren Arzt bzw. Ihre Ärztin, wenn Sie eine Veränderung der Stimmungslage bemerken, z.B. gereizte, feindselige oder depressive Stimmung.
Eine geringe Anzahl von Patienten, die mit Antiepileptika wie Fycompa behandelt wurden, hatten Gedanken daran, sich selbst zu verletzen oder sich das Leben zu nehmen. Wenn Sie zu irgendeinem Zeitpunkt solche Gedanken haben, setzen Sie sich sofort mit Ihrem Arzt oder Ihrer Ärztin in Verbindung.
Fycompa wird für Kinder und Jugendliche unter 12 Jahren nicht empfohlen. Die Verträglichkeit und Wirksamkeit in dieser Altersgruppe sind nicht bekannt.
Die Einnahme von Fycompa zusammen mit bestimmten anderen Arzneimitteln kann Nebenwirkungen hervorrufen oder die Wirkungsweise beeinflussen. Beginnen oder beenden Sie die Einnahme anderer Arzneimittel nicht, ohne vorher mit Ihrem Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. Ihrer Ärztin oder Apothekerin gesprochen zu haben.
Informieren Sie Ihren Arzt, wenn Sie folgende Arzneimittel einnehmen bzw. vor kurzem eingenommen haben, da die Dosis von Fycompa eventuell angepasst werden muss:
andere Antiepileptika wie Carbamazepin, Oxcarbazepin, Phenytoin oder Felbamat, Rifampicin (Arzneimittel zur Behandlung bakterieller Infektionen), (Johanniskraut) (Arzneimittel zur Behandlung leichter Angststörungen) und Ketoconazol (Arzneimittel zur Behandlung von Pilzinfektionen).
Informieren Sie Ihren Arzt bzw. Ihre Ärztin, wenn Sie hormonelle Verhütungsmittel (die «Pille») einnehmen, Fycompa kann deren Wirksamkeit herabsetzen. Sie sollten während der Einnahme von Fycompa und bis einen Monat nach Ende der Behandlung eine zusätzliche sichere Empfängnisverhütung anwenden. Besprechen Sie mit Ihrem Arzt oder Ihrer Ärztin welche Verhütungsmethoden für Sie am besten geeignet sind.
Der Konsum von Alkohol während der Behandlung mit Fycompa kann Ihr Reaktionsvermögen herabsetzen und Ihre Verkehrstüchtigkeit und Ihre Fähigkeit zum Bedienen von Werkzeugen oder Maschinen beeinträchtigen. Auch können sich Gefühle von Wut, Verwirrung und Traurigkeit verstärken.
Fycompa enthält Lactose (Milchzucker). Bitte nehmen Sie dieses Arzneimittel daher erst nach Rücksprache mit Ihrem Arzt ein, wenn Ihnen bekannt ist, dass Sie unter einer Lactoseunverträglichkeit leiden.
Informieren Sie Ihren Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. Ihre Ärztin oder Apothekerin, wenn Sie an anderen Krankheiten leiden Allergien haben oder andere Arzneimittel (auch selbst gekaufte!) einnehmen!
Die Anwendung von Fycompa bei Frauen im gebärfähigen Alter, die keine Kontrazeption anwenden, wird nicht empfohlen.
Fycompa kann die Wirksamkeit von gewissen hormonellen Verhütungsmitteln («Pille») herabsetzen. Deshalb wird empfohlen, dass Sie während der Einnahme von Fycompa und bis einen Monat nach Ende der Behandlung eine zusätzliche sichere und wirksame Empfängnisverhütung anwenden. Besprechen Sie mit Ihrem Arzt, welche Verhütungsmethoden für Sie am besten geeignet sind.
Wenn Sie schwanger sind oder vermuten, schwanger zu sein, oder eine Schwangerschaft planen, sprechen Sie mit Ihrem Arzt bzw. Ihrer Ärztin. Brechen Sie die Behandlung nicht ab, ohne dies zuerst mit Ihrem Arzt bzw. Ihrer Ärztin zu besprechen.
Es ist nicht bekannt ob Fycompa in die Muttermilch übergeht.
Sprechen Sie mit Ihrem Arzt bzw. Ihrer Ärztin über das Stillen, wenn Sie Fycompa einnehmen. Ihr Arzt bzw. Ihre Ärztin wird die Risiken beurteilen und entscheiden, ob abgestillt werden muss.
Nehmen Sie Fycompa immer genau nach Anweisung Ihres Arztes bzw. Ihrer Ärztin ein. Bitte fragen Sie nach, wenn Sie nicht ganz sicher sind.
Fycompa sollte einmal täglich abends vor dem Schlafengehen mit einem Glas Wasser eingenommen werden. Die Filmtabletten nicht kauen, zerkleinern oder teilen.
Die übliche Startdosis für Erwachsene und Jugendliche ab 12 Jahren beträgt einmal täglich 2 mg. Diese Dosierung kann in ein- bis zwei-wöchigen Abständen bis auf 8 mg oder in Einzelfällen bis auf maximal 12 mg pro Tag erhöht werden.
Informieren Sie Ihren Arzt bzw. Ihre Ärztin, wenn Sie mehr Fycompa Filmtabletten eingenommen haben, als Sie sollten.
Falls Sie die Einnahme einer Filmtablette vergessen haben, nehmen Sie diese sofort ein, sobald Sie daran denken und fahren Sie anschliessend wie gewohnt fort. Nehmen Sie nicht die doppelte Dosis ein, um die Vergessene zu ersetzen.
BrechenSie die Therapie nicht von sich aus ab. Nehmen Sie Fycompa so lange ein, wie es Ihr Arzt bzw. Ihre Ärztin Ihnen verschrieben hat. Zur Beendigung der Therapie wird Ihr Arzt bzw. Ihre Ärztin die Dosis langsam reduzieren, um neue oder schlimmere Anfälle zu vermeiden.
Ändern Sie nicht von sich aus die verschriebene Dosierung. Wenn Sie glauben, das Arzneimittel wirke zu schwach oder zu stark, so sprechen Sie mit Ihrem Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. mit Ihrer Ärztin oder Apothekerin.
Sehr häufig: Schwindel und Schläfrigkeit.
Häufig: Verminderter oder erhöhter Appetit, Gewichtszunahme, Übelkeit, Reizbarkeit und Aggressivität, Wut, Angst, Verwirrtheit, depressive Verstimmung, Gleichgewichts-, Bewegungs- und Gangstörungen, Stürze, langsame Sprache, verschwommenes Sehen oder Doppelbilder, Rückenschmerzen, Reizbarkeit.
Gelegentlich: Gedanken daran, sich selbst zu verletzen oder das Leben zu nehmen.
Wenn Sie Nebenwirkungen bemerken, die hier nicht beschrieben sind, sollten Sie Ihren Arzt, Apotheker bzw. Ihre Ärztin oder Apothekerin informieren.
Das Arzneimittel darf nur bis zu dem auf dem Behälter mit «EXP» bezeichneten Datum verwendet werden.
Ausserhalb der Reichweite von Kindern aufbewahren.
