Isochinol Salbe enthält das Lokalanästhetikum Quinisocainhydrochlorid, das, auf die Haut aufgetragen, die sensiblen Nervenenden lokal und zeitlich begrenzt betäubt und so zu einer Linderung von Juckreiz führt.
Isochinol wird angewendet:
Zur Behandlung von juckenden und schmerzhaften Erkrankungen der Haut, z.B. Insektenstiche, leichter nicht ausgedehnter Sonnenbrand, kleinflächige Verbrennungen erstes Grades;
bei Juckreiz, Nässen, Brennen und frisch aufgetretene Schmerzen am After (sogenannte Hämorrhoidalbeschwerden).
Da Juckreiz häufig nur ein Symptom einer anderen Krankheit ist, sollte der Arzt konsultiert werden, wenn die Erscheinungen länger (mehr als 1 Woche) anhalten.
Bei bekannter Allergie auf Wirkstoffe zur örtlichen Betäubung (Lokalanästhetika) oder einen der Hilfsstoffe darf Isochinol nicht angewendet werden.
Nicht auf offene oder entzündete Wunden, nässende Hauterkrankungen oder auf Schleimhäute (ausgenommen im Bereich des Darmausgangs) auftragen. Nicht in Augennähe anwenden.
Als Behandlung der Hämorrhoidalbeschwerden ist Isochinol nur für Erwachsene, nicht für Kinder geeignet.
Zur Behandlung von juckenden Hauterkrankungen darf Isochinol bei Kindern unter 2 Jahren nur nach ärztlicher Verordnung angewendet werden.
Ohne ärztliche Verordnung nicht grossflächig anwenden.
Wenn Isochinol Salbe zur Behandlung von Hämorrhoidalbeschwerden verwendet wird, ist zudem folgendes zu beachten:
Bei erstmaligen Auftreten der Beschwerden darf die Selbstbehandlung nicht länger als 2 Wochen dauern. Zur Abklärung ist ein Arzt zu konsultieren.
Wiederholte Behandlungen dürfen nur nach einer ärztlich gesicherten Diagnose erfolgen. Sie sollten jeweils nicht länger als 2 Wochen dauern.
Bei Blutabgang oder bei Verdacht auf Blut im Stuhl sowie bei gleichzeitigem Auftreten von Schmerzen am After und Fieber ist zur Abklärung ein Arzt zu konsultieren.
Bei gleichzeitiger Anwendung von Isochinol und Kondomen kann es zu einer Verminderung der Reissfertigkeit und damit zur Beeinträchtigung der Sicherheit von Kondomen kommen.
Informieren Sie Ihren Arzt, Apotheker oder Drogisten, bzw. Ihre Ärztin, Apothekerin oder Drogistin, wenn Sie an anderen Krankheiten leiden, Allergien haben oder andere Arzneimittel (auch selbstgekaufte!) einnehmen oder äusserlich anwenden.
Auf Grund der bisherigen Erfahrungen ist bei bestimmungsgemässer Anwendung kein Risiko für das Kind bekannt. Systematische wissenschaftliche Untersuchungen wurden aber nie durchgeführt. Vorsichtshalber sollten Sie während der Schwangerschaft und Stillzeit möglichst auf Arzneimittel verzichten oder den Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. die Ärztin oder Apothekerin um Rat fragen.
Wenn vom Arzt bzw. von der Ärztin nicht anders verordnet:
Erwachsene und Kinder ab 2 Jahren: 2?3 mal täglich auf die gereizten und juckenden Stellen auftragen.
Säuglinge und Kinder unter 2 Jahren: Isochinol darf nur auf ärztliche Verschreibung und unter ärztlicher Überwachung angewendet werden.
Bei Hämorrhoiden sollte Isochinol nach dem Stuhlgang angewendet werden. Vor Anwendung sollte der After mit warmem Wasser und einem weichen Tuch sorgfältig gereinigt werden.
Zur Behandlung der Hämorrhoidalbeschwerden ist Isochinol nur für Erwachsene geeignet.
Halten Sie sich an die in der Packungsbeilage oder vom Arzt oder der Ärztin verschriebene Dosierung. Wenn Sie glauben, das Arzneimittel wirke zu schwach oder zu stark, so sprechen Sie mit Ihrem Arzt, Apotheker oder Drogisten bzw. mit Ihrer Ärztin, Apothekerin oder Drogistin.
Folgende Nebenwirkungen können (selten) bei der Anwendung von Isochinol auftreten: Reizungen und allergische Hauterscheinungen.
Wenn Sie Nebenwirkungen bemerken, die hier nicht beschrieben sind, sollten Sie Ihren Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. Ihre Ärztin oder Apothekerin informieren.
Isochinol ist ausserhalb der Reichweite von Kindern und bei Raumtemperatur (15?25 °C) aufzubewahren. Die Salbe darf nur bis zu dem auf dem Behälter mit «EXP» bezeichneten Datum verwendet werden.
