Monuril ist ein Antibiotikum für Erwachsene und Jugendliche, welches den Wirkstoff Fosfomycin enthält. Es wird in einmaliger Dosis eingenommen. Sie erhalten es auf Verschreibung des Arztes oder der Ärztin, wenn Sie an akuten unkomplizierten Harnwegsinfektionen (Zystitis) leiden.
Ihr Arzt oder Ihre Ärztin kann Ihnen Monuril auch vor Operationen oder Untersuchungen im Bereich der unteren Harnwege verordnen, um dort Infektionen zu verhüten.
Es ist möglich, dass Ihre Schmerzen nach Einnahme von Monuril noch eine Zeitlang andauern. Beunruhigen Sie sich deshalb nicht, dies ist durchaus normal für den Heilungsverlauf. Trinken Sie viel, dies begünstigt die Heilung.
Verspüren Sie aber drei Tage nach der Einnahme von Monuril immer noch starke Schmerzen, dann kontaktieren Sie bitte Ihren Arzt oder Ihre Ärztin, falls Sie nicht schon einen weiteren Termin zur Kontrolle vereinbart haben.
Wie können Sie Entzündungen vermeiden?
?Bei der täglichen Intimpflege: Reinigung von vorne nach hinten.
?Viel trinken (z.B. Tee, Wasser), um Nieren und Blase «durchzuspülen».
?Regelmässiges Wasserlassen vermeidet eine zu starke Blasenfüllung und eine Bakterienvermehrung in der Blase.
?Die Selbstbehandlung von Entzündungen der Harnwege kann mit Gefahren verbunden sein. Die Behandlung ist deshalb Aufgabe Ihres Arztes oder Ihrer Ärztin.
Dieses Arzneimittel wurde Ihnen von Ihrem Arzt oder Ihrer Ärztin zur Behandlung Ihrer gegenwärtigen Erkrankung verschrieben.
Das in Monuril enthaltene Antibiotikum ist nicht gegen alle Mikroorganismen, welche Infektionskrankheiten verursachen, wirksam. Die Anwendung eines falsch gewählten oder nicht richtig dosierten Antibiotikums kann Komplikationen verursachen. Wenden Sie es deshalb nicht von sich aus für die Behandlung anderer Erkrankungen oder anderer Personen an.
Wenn Sie Diabetiker/in sind, müssen Sie beachten, dass Monuril Zucker (Saccharose) enthält. Dies enspricht pro Einzeldosis einer Menge an verwertbaren Kohlenhydrate von 2.2 g für Monuril 2 g und 2.3 g für Monuril 3 g.
Nehmen Sie Monuril nicht mit dem Essen ein. Seine Wirkung wird dadurch verringert.
Monuril darf nicht angewendet werden, wenn Sie wissen, dass Sie auf einen oder mehrere der Inhaltsstoffe überempfindlich reagieren und wenn Sie schwere Nierenfunktionsstörungen haben.
Monuril ist für Kinder unter 12 Jahren nicht geeignet.
Da Monuril Schwindel auslösen kann, kann die Reaktionsfähigkeit, die Fahrtüchtigkeit und die Fähigkeit, Werkzeuge oder Maschinen zu bedienen, beeinträchtigt sein.
Sollte während oder nach einer Antibiotika-Behandlung schwerer und anhaltender Durchfall auftreten, informieren Sie bitte sofort Ihren Arzt bzw. Ihre Ärztin, damit eine geeignete Therapie eingeleitet werden kann.
Bei Auftreten von Durchfall dürfen keine Arzneimittel, welche die Darmperistaltik (Darmbewegung) hemmen, eingenommen werden.
Monuril enthält Saccharose. Patienten mit seltenen vererbten Zuckerstoffwechselstörungen (Fructose-Intoleranz, Glucose-Galactose-Malabsorption oder Saccharase-Isomaltase-Mangel) sollten Monuril nicht einnehmen.
Eine gleichzeitige Einnahme von Metoclopramid (einem Wirkstoff zur Behandlung von Beschwerden bei Erkrankungen des Magen-Darm-Bereichs) sollte vermieden werden, da die Wirkung von Monuril dadurch verringert wird. Monuril sollte deshalb entweder 2-3 Stunden vor oder mindestens 2-3 Stunden nach diesen Mitteln verabreicht werden, um eine ausreichende Wirkung zu gewährleisten.
Informieren Sie Ihren Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. Ihre Ärztin oder Apothekerin, wenn Sie an anderen Krankheiten leiden, Allergien haben oder andere Arzneimittel (auch selbstgekaufte!) einnehmen.
Informieren Sie Ihren Arzt oder Ihre Ärztin, wenn Sie schwanger sind oder stillen. Er/sie wird entscheiden, ob Sie in dieser Zeit Monuril einnehmen dürfen.

Einnahme auf leeren Magen, d.h. 2?3 Stunden vor oder nach dem Essen, am besten abends nach Entleerung der Blase. Lösen Sie dazu Monuril in einem Glas Wasser auf und trinken Sie es sofort.
Ändern Sie nicht von sich aus die verschriebene Dosierung. Wenn Sie glauben, das Arzneimittel wirke zu schwach oder zu stark, so sprechen Sie mit Ihrem Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. mit Ihrer Ärztin oder Apothekerin.
Folgende Nebenwirkungen können bei der Einnahme von Monuril auftreten:
Häufig: Magen-Darm-Beschwerden wie Brechreiz, Durchfall, Bauchschmerzen, Erbrechen, Appetitlosigkeit, Blähungen, Entzündungen der Schamlippen und der Scheide, Schwindel oder Kopfweh. Gelegentlich kann es auch zu Hautausschlägen, Juckreiz, Kribbeln, Müdigkeit und Schwäche kommen.
Selten: niedriger Blutdruck, beschleunigter Puls. Zudem wurde über Fälle von Asthma und Überempfindlichkeitsreaktionen (rote Hautflecken, Fieber, Asthma, Atemnot, Kreislaufbeschwerden, Schwellungen der Haut (z.B. Nesselfieber) und der Schleimhäute oder Hautausschläge bis hin zum Schock) sowie antibiotikabedingtem schwerem, anhaltendem Durchfall berichtet.
Konsultieren Sie sofort Ihren Arzt bzw. Ihre Ärztin bei Auftreten von:
·Überempfindlichkeitsreaktionen
·Atemproblemen in Form von Asthmaanfällen
·schweren, blutigen oder anhaltenden Durchfällen
Wenn Sie Nebenwirkungen bemerken, die hier nicht beschrieben sind, sollten Sie Ihren Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. Ihre Ärztin oder Apothekerin informieren.
Bei Raumtemperatur (unter 30 °C) und für Kinder unzugänglich aufbewahren.
Das Arzneimittel darf nur bis zu dem auf dem Behälter mit «EXP» bezeichneten Datum verwendet werden.

Monuril 2 g: Ein Beutel Granulat (6 g) enthält 2 g Fosfomycin in Form des Trometamolsalzes.
Monuril 3 g: ein Beutel Granulat (8 g) enthält 3 g Fosfomycin in Form des Trometamolsalzes.
Hilfsstoffe: Saccharose 2,2 g bzw. 2,3 g, Saccharin, Aromatica (Mandarinen- und Orangenaroma) sowie weitere Hilfsstoffe.
