Movicol Chocolat Sachets enthalten ein Pulver, bestehend aus Macrogol und Salzen. Macrogol ist eine Substanz, die Wasser bindet und dadurch den Stuhl feucht hält und aufweicht, wodurch die Darmpassage erleichtert wird. Dadurch wirkt Movicol Chocolat als Abführmittel bei Verstopfung und Kotstau (Koprostase).
Movicol Chocolat soll nur nach Verschreibung des Arztes bzw. der Ärztin angewendet werden.
Movicol wird in 3 Geschmacksrichtungen angeboten: mit Limetten- und Zitronenaroma (Movicol), mit Schokoladenaroma (Movicol Chocolat) und aromafrei (Movicol aromafrei).
Unausgewogene Ernährung und Bewegungsarmut (weitgehend sitzende Tätigkeit, Bettlägerigkeit) sind mögliche Ursachen der Verstopfung. Es ist möglich, dass der Darm zu träge und zu langsam arbeitet.
Bevor Sie ein Abführmittel nehmen, sollten Sie immer versuchen, die Verstopfung zu beseitigen, indem Sie sich geeignet ernähren und für angemessene körperliche Bewegung sorgen.
Erhöhen Sie den Faseranteil der Nahrung und trinken Sie mehr Flüssigkeit (Wasser, Fruchtsaft, etc.). Nehmen Sie viele Ballaststoffe aus grünem Gemüse, Vollkornbrot, Teigwaren, etc. zu sich und verzichten Sie auf Kaffee, Tee, Schokolade und raffinierte Nahrungsmittel. Auch Fleisch und Milchprodukte können eine Verstopfung bewirken, ihre Aufnahme ist deshalb zu reduzieren. Um die Bewegungsfähigkeit des Darmes zu erhalten, ist körperliche Bewegung (Morgengymnastik, Spaziergänge, kalte Duschen, evtl. gymnastische Übungen für die Bauchmuskulatur) sehr wichtig.
Movicol Chocolat darf nicht verwendet werden bei Darmverschluss, Darmverengungen, entzündlichen Darmerkrankungen, Darmlähmung oder einer Perforation (Durchbruch) im Verdauungstrakt.
Des Weiteren dürfen Sie Movicol Chocolat nur nach Rücksprache mit dem Arzt bzw. der Ärztin einnehmen, wenn Sie Bauchschmerzen unbekannter Herkunft haben oder wenn Sie allergisch sind auf einen der Inhaltsstoffe, z.B. auf Macrogol.
Da derzeit keine Erfahrungen mit einer Langzeitbehandlung vorliegen, darf Movicol Chocolat nicht länger als 3 Monate angewendet werden.
Zur Auflösung einer Koprostase (Kotstauung) soll die Behandlung maximal 3 Tage dauern.
Falls Sie an einer Herzkreislaufkrankheit leiden, sollten Sie bei der Behandlung einer Koprostase (Kotstauung) nicht mehr als 2 Sachets pro Stunde einnehmen.
Wenn Sie während der Behandlung mit Movicol Chocolat eine starke Müdigkeit verspüren oder Ödeme (Wasseransammlung im Gewebe), Kurzatmigkeit, starker Durst bzw. Mundtrockenheit oder Herzkreislaufschwäche auftreten, sollten Sie die Behandlung abbrechen und Ihren Arzt bzw. Ihre Ärztin konsultieren.
Bei Kindern unter 12 Jahren darf Movicol Chocolat nicht angewendet werden.
Wenn Sie noch andere Arzneimittel einnehmen, sollten diese erst 2 Stunden nach Einnahme von Movicol Chocolat eingenommen werden.
Die Wirksamkeit einiger Arzneimittel, wie beispielsweise Antiepileptika, kann während der Einnahme von Movicol Chocolat verringert sein

Die Einnahme der zubereiteten Movicol Chocolat Lösung ersetzt nicht die reguläre Flüssigkeitszufuhr; diese muss weiterhin gewährleistet sein.
Es sind keine Auswirkungen bekannt. Es wurden keine entsprechenden Studien durchgeführt.
Wenn Sie eine grössere Menge Movicol Chocolat eingenommen haben, als Sie sollten, kann es zu Durchfall kommen. Nehmen Sie solange kein Movicol Chocolat mehr ein, bis der Durchfall aufgehört hat und beginnen Sie dann erneut mit der Einnahme einer geringeren Dosis. Wenn Sie Fragen haben, wenden Sie sich an Ihren Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. Ihre Ärztin oder Apothekerin.
Wenn Sie schwanger sind, schwanger werden möchten oder stillen, fragen Sie vor der Einnahme von Movicol Chocolat Ihren Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. Ihre Ärztin oder Apothekerin um Rat.
Sofern vom Arzt/Ärztin nichts anderes verordnet, werden bei Verstopfung 1-2 Sachets pro Tag eingenommen. Der Inhalt eines Sachets Movicol Chocolat wird in ein Glas Wasser (125 ml) gegeben und gut umgerührt. Sobald das Pulver vollständig gelöst ist, wird die Lösung ausgetrunken.
Für ältere Patienten (>65 Jahre) genügt üblicherweise die Einnahme eines Sachets täglich.
Zur Behandlung einer Koprostase (Kotstauung) wird Ihnen Ihr Arzt bzw. Ihre Ärztin in der Regel 8 Sachets pro Tag verordnen, welche Sie innerhalb von 6 Stunden einnehmen müssen. Lösen Sie den Inhalt je eines Sachets in 125 ml Wasser, rühren Sie gut bis zur vollständigen Auflösung des Pulvers und trinken Sie das Glas leer.
Sie können auch 8 Sachets in 1 Liter Wasser auflösen und innerhalb von 6 Stunden einnehmen.
Bewahren Sie diese Lösung im Kühlschrank (2 °C-8 °C) in einem verschlossenen oder abgedeckten sauberen Gefäss auf.
Die Behandlung von Kindern unter 12 Jahren mit Movicol Chocolat wird nicht empfohlen. Hierfür stehen die schwächer dosierten Movicol Junior Produkte zur Verfügung.
Ändern Sie nicht von sich aus die verschriebene Dosierung. Wenn Sie glauben, das Arzneimittel wirke zu schwach oder zu stark, so sprechen Sie mit Ihrem Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. mit Ihrer Ärztin oder Apothekerin.
Am Häufigsten sind Nebenwirkungen im Verdauungstrakt (Gastrointestinalbereich).
Folgende Nebenwirkungen können bei der Einnahme von Movicol Chocolat auftreten:
Gelegentlich: Blähbauch (abdominelle Aufblähung), Durchfall, Erbrechen, Übelkeit, Bauchschmerzen, Fettstuhl, Nesselsucht (Urtikaria)
Selten: Darmgeräusche
Durchfall verbessert sich im Allgemeinen, sobald die Dosis von Movicol Chocolat reduziert wird.
Nach Markteinführung wurden folgende zusätzliche Nebenwirkungen beobachtet:
Allergische Reaktionen einschliesslich anaphylaktische Reaktionen, Gewebsschwellungen (Angioödeme), Atemnot, Hautausschlag, Hautrötung, Juckreiz, Störungen des Elektrolythaushaltes, insbesondere verminderte/erhöhte Kaliumkonzentration im Blut, Kopfschmerzen, Verdauungsstörungen, Blähungen, Beschwerden im Anorektalbereich, Ödeme der Extremitäten.
Wenn Sie Nebenwirkungen bemerken, die hier nicht beschrieben sind, sollten Sie Ihren Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. Ihre Ärztin oder Apothekerin informieren.
Arzneimittel sollen für Kinder unerreichbar aufbewahrt werden.
Pulver: Originalbehälter bei Raumtemperatur (15 °C-25 °C) und vor Feuchtigkeit geschützt lagern.
Trinklösung: Zubereitete Trinklösung im Kühlschrank (2 °C-8 °C) in einem verschlossenen oder abgedeckten sauberen Gefäss 6 Stunden haltbar.
Das Arzneimittel darf nur bis zu dem auf dem Behälter mit «EXP» bezeichneten Datum verwendet werden.
Weitere Auskünfte erteilt Ihnen Ihr Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. Ihre Ärztin oder Apothekerin. Diese Personen verfügen über die ausführliche Fachinformation.
