Mundisal ist ein Gel gegen Schmerzen und Entzündungen bei Verletzungen im Mundbereich, gegen Zahnungsbeschwerden bei Säuglingen und Kleinkindern sowie bei Druck- und Wundstellen durch Zahnprothesen und kieferorthopädische Apparate (z.B. für Zahnregulierung).
Bei lokaler Anwendung von Mundisal Gel wird der Wirkstoff Cholinsalicylat durch die Mundschleimhaut rasch aufgenommen und erzielt innerhalb von 5 Minuten seine schmerzstillende und entzündungshemmende Wirkung, welche etwa 2?3 Stunden anhält.
Mundisal Gel ist zuckerfrei.
Mundisal Gel darf bei Kindern und Jugendlichen mit Fieber in Zusammenhang mit einer Virus-Erkrankung nur nach ärztlicher Verschreibung und nur als Mittel der zweiten Wahl angewendet werden (siehe «Wann ist bei der Einnahme von Mundisal Gel Vorsicht geboten?»).
Wenn Sie überempfindlich (allergisch) gegen Salicylate oder einen anderen Inhaltsstoff sind, dürfen Sie Mundisal Gel nicht anwenden.
Bei höherem Fieber oder wenn innerhalb einer Woche keine Besserung eintritt, ist ein Arzt oder eine Ärztin aufzusuchen.
Kinder und Jugendliche mit Fieber in Zusammenhang mit Grippe, Windpocken oder anderen Virus-Erkrankungen dürfen Mundisal Gel nur nach Anweisung des Arztes bzw. der Ärztin und nur als Mittel der zweiten Wahl anwenden. Kommt es bei diesen Erkrankungen oder nach ihrem Abklingen zu Bewusstseinsstörungen mit Erbrechen, sollte unverzüglich der Arzt bzw. die Ärztin konsultiert werden.
Informieren Sie Ihren Arzt, Apotheker oder Drogisten bzw. Ihre Ärztin, Apothekerin oder Drogistin, wenn Sie an anderen Krankheiten leiden, Allergien haben oder andere Arzneimittel (auch selbst gekaufte!) einnehmen oder äusserlich anwenden!
Wenn Sie schwanger sind, es werden wollen oder wenn Sie stillen, sollten Sie Mundisal Gel ausschliesslich nach Rücksprache mit dem Arzt oder der Ärztin anwenden. Im letzten Drittel der Schwangerschaft darf Mundisal Gel nicht angewendet werden.
Vorsichtshalber sollten Sie während der Schwangerschaft und Stillzeit möglichst auf Arzneimittel verzichten.
Sofern vom Arzt oder von der Ärztin nicht anders verordnet: ca. 1 cm Gel (entspricht ca. 15 mg Cholinsalicylat) mit sauberem Finger auf die betroffene Stelle auftragen und leicht einmassieren.
Je nach Stärke der Beschwerden kann die Anwendung alle 2?3 Stunden wiederholt werden, soll jedoch nicht häufiger als 8?10 Mal täglich erfolgen.
Mundisal Gel sollte nicht länger als notwendig angewendet werden.
Bei Säuglingen und Kleinkindern die Hälfte der üblichen Dosis (0,5 cm Gel) bis zu maximal 4 Mal täglich auftragen.
Halten Sie sich an die in der Packungsbeilage angegebene oder vom Arzt oder von der Ärztin verschriebene Dosierung. Wenn Sie glauben, das Arzneimittel wirke zu schwach oder zu stark, so sprechen Sie mit Ihrem Arzt, Apotheker oder Drogisten bzw. mit Ihrer Ärztin, Apothekerin oder Drogistin.
Die Gelgrundlage von Mundisal Gel enthält Alkohol. Bei der Anwendung auf verletzter Haut oder Schleimhaut kann deshalb ein kurzzeitiges leichtes Brennen verspürt werden.
Vereinzelt wurden Fälle von Schwellung der Zunge, lokaler Rötung sowie Nesselfieber beobachtet.
Wenn Sie Nebenwirkungen bemerken, die hier nicht beschrieben sind, sollten Sie Ihren Arzt, Apotheker oder Drogisten bzw. Ihre Ärztin, Apothekerin oder Drogistin informieren.
Mundisal Gel enthält 43% Vol. Alkohol. Bei Beachtung der empfohlenen Dosierung werden bei jeder Anwendung ca. 60 mg Alkohol zugeführt. Dabei ist ein Einfluss auf die Verkehrstüchtigkeit und das Bedienen von Maschinen nicht zu erwarten.
Bei Raumtemperatur (15?25 °C) und für Kinder unerreichbar lagern.
Nach erstmaligem Öffnen ist Mundisal Gel 12 Monate haltbar.
Das Arzneimittel darf nur bis zu dem auf dem Behälter mit «EXP» bezeichneten Datum verwendet werden.
Weitere Auskünfte erteilt Ihnen Ihr Arzt, Apotheker oder Drogist bzw. Ihre Ärztin, Apothekerin oder Drogistin. Diese Personen verfügen über die ausführliche Fachinformation.
