Die Wirksubstanz von Mutaflor ist ein Bakterium (Escherichia coli Stamm Nissle 1917). Bei Colitis ulcerosa (chronisch entzündliche Darmerkrankung) verhindert es Rückfälle während der schubfreien Zeit. Hierbei zeichnet es sich durch eine sehr gute Verträglichkeit aus. Das Bakterium E. coli Stamm Nissle 1917 wirkt bei seiner Freisetzung im Dickdarm gegen krankheitserregende Mikroorganismen und fördert die körpereigenen Abwehrkräfte. Darüber hinaus gibt es Substanzen in den Darm ab, die als Energielieferanten für die Schleimhaut des Dickdarms dienen und ihre Durchblutung fördern.
Das Präparat darf nur auf Verschreibung des Arztes oder der Ärztin angewendet werden.
Für Diabetiker: Der Anteil an verdaulichen Kohlenhydraten liegt unter 0,01 BE/Kapsel.
Bei Überempfindlichkeiten gegen einen Bestandteil des Päparates.
Nach einer Antibiotika-Behandlung soll mit der Anwendung von Mutaflor 5 Tage zugewartet werden.
Sollten Unverträglichkeitserscheinungen auftreten, müssen Sie sofort Ihren Arzt oder Ihre Ärztin konsultieren.
Bestimmte Antibiotika können die Wirksamkeit von Mutaflor einschränken. Teilen sie daher Ihrem Arzt oder Ihrer Ärztin mit, welche Antibiotika Sie einnehmen.
Aufgrund der bisherigen Erfahrungen ist bei bestimmungsgemässer Anwendung während der Schwangerschaft kein Risiko für das Kind bekannt. Systematische wissenschaftliche Untersuchungen wurden aber nie durchgeführt. Vorsichtshalber sollten Sie während der Schwangerschaft möglichst auf Arzneimittel verzichten oder den Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. die Ärztin oder Apothekerin um Rat fragen.
Systematische wissenschaftliche Untersuchungen zeigen, dass Mutaflor während der Stillzeit ohne Bedenken eingenommen werden kann.
Ändern Sie nicht von sich aus die verschriebene Dosierung. Wenn Sie glauben, das Arzneimittel wirke zu schwach oder zu stark, so sprechen Sie mit Ihrem Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. mit Ihrer Ärztin oder Apothekerin.
Soweit nicht anders verordnet, soll zur Vorbeugung eines Rückfalls die gesamte Tagesdosis zu einer Mahlzeit, möglichst zum Frühstück, unzerkaut mit ausreichend Flüssigkeit eingenommen werden.
Soweit nicht anders verordnet, gilt zur Vorbeugung eines Rückfalls folgende Dosierung:
Erwachsene und Jugendliche: 1.?4. Tag 1× 1 Kapsel Mutaflor mite täglich, am 5.?6. Tag 1× 2 Kapseln Mutaflor mite täglich. An den folgenden Tagen 1× 3 Kapseln Mutaflor mite täglich. Sobald 3 Kapseln Mutaflor mite pro Tag gut vertragen werden, kann man zunächst auf 1 Kapsel Mutaflor pro Tag übergehen und dann auf 2 Kapseln pro Tag steigern.
Kinder: Vom 1.?4. Tag 1 Kapsel Mutaflor mite täglich. Ab dem 5. Tag 1× 2 Kapseln Mutaflor mite pro Tag.
Soweit nicht anders verordnet, sollte Mutaflor zur Vorbeugung eines Rückfalls dauerhaft eingenommen werden.
Auch bei Überschreiten der vorgeschriebenen Dosierung sind keine besonderen Massnahmen erforderlich.
Es sind keine besonderen Massnahmen notwendig. Die Einnahme sollte ohne Berücksichtigung der ausgelassenen Einnahme fortgesetzt werden.
Gelegentlich auftretende Blähungen verschwinden meist bei Reduzierung der Dosis. Alternativ kann versucht werden, die Tagesdosis auf mehrere Einzelgaben aufzuteilen.
In sehr seltenen Fällen können unerwünschte Wirkungen wie Bauchschmerzen, Blähsucht, Darmgeräusche, dünnflüssiger Stuhl oder Durchfall, Übelkeit und Erbrechen, Verstopfung und Hautrötungen oder Hautausschläge auftreten.
Sollten Sie während der Einnahme von Mutaflor solche oder andere, hier nicht beschriebene, unerwünschte Wirkungen bemerken, müssen sie unverzüglich Ihren Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. Ihre Ärztin oder Apothekerin informieren.
Das Arzneimittel darf nur bis zu dem auf dem Behälter mit «EXP» bezeichneten Datum verwendet werden!
