+-Was ist Nalcrom und wann wird es angewendet?

Nalcrom darf nur auf Verschreibung des Arztes oder der Ärztin eingenommen werden.

Nalcrom ist ein Pulver zum Einnehmen, das den Wirkstoff Natriumcromoglycat enthält. Es liegt in Kapselform und abgepackt in Sachets vor.

Nalcrom wird verwendet zur vorbeugenden Behandlung von Nahrungsmittelallergien, insbesondere bei Vorliegen einer Allergie gegen mehrere Nahrungsmittel, bei sehr empfindlichen Patienten und in Fällen, in denen ein Ausweichen auf andere Nahrungsmittel problematisch ist.

Häufige Symptome einer Nahrungsmittelallergie sind Nesselsucht (Urticaria), Ekzeme, Hautjucken, Magen-Darm-Beschwerden, Asthma, Schnupfen und Migräneanfälle.

Die auslösenden Allergene können in vielen Nahrungsmitteln enthalten sein, z.B. in Kuhmilch, Hühnereiweiss, Getreide, Fisch, Käse und Nüssen.

Für das Auftreten der allergischen Beschwerden sind bestimmte Zellen (Mastzellen), die sich in der Schleimhaut des Verdauungstrakts befinden, von Bedeutung. Beim Kontakt mit Allergenen setzen diese Zellen Stoffe frei, die zu einer Entzündung der Schleimhaut des Verdauungstraktes führen. Hierdurch wird die Durchlässigkeit der Schleimhaut erhöht, und es werden vermehrt Allergene aufgenommen, die dann auch in anderen Körperbereichen (Nase, Lunge, Haut etc.) Beschwerden auslösen können.

Nalcrom schützt und stabilisiert die Haut (Membran) dieser Zellen. Die Mastzellen bleiben intakt, und es werden keine Entzündungsstoffe mehr freigesetzt.

Die Behandlung mit Nalcrom muss immer vor der Nahrungsmittelaufnahme erfolgen und sollte konsequent und regelmässig durchgeführt werden.

+-Was sollte dazu beachtet werden?

Wenn es bei Ihnen bereits in der Vergangenheit nach Genuss bestimmter Nahrungsmittel zu einem anaphylaktischen Schock oder einer ähnlich schwerwiegenden Reaktion gekommen ist, sollten Sie auch während der Behandlung mit Nalcrom vorsichtshalber auf den Verzehr dieser Nahrungsmittel verzichten.

+-Wann darf Nalcrom nicht angewendet werden?

Bei einer bekannten Überempfindlichkeit gegenüber Natriumcromoglycat und Saccharose (inkl. Fruktose Unverträglichkeit, Glucose-Galaktose Malabsorptionssyndrom) sowie bei Kindern unter 2 Jahren sollte Nalcrom nicht angewendet werden.

+-Wann ist bei der Einnahme von Nalcrom Vorsicht geboten?

Hinweis für Diabetiker

Nalcrom Sachets enthalten Zucker (Nalcrom 100: ca. 1 g Saccharose entsprechend 0,08 Broteinheiten; Nalcrom 200: ca. 2 g Saccharose entsprechend 0,16 Broteinheiten). Sofern erforderlich, sollten Diabetiker auf die zuckerfreien Nalcrom Kapseln ausweichen.

Informieren Sie Ihren Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. Ihre Ärztin oder Apothekerin, wenn Sie an anderen Krankheiten leiden, Allergien haben oder andere Arzneimittel (auch selbstgekaufte!) einnehmen oder äusserlich anwenden!

+-Darf Nalcrom während einer Schwangerschaft oder in der Stillzeit eingenommen werden?

Aufgrund der bisherigen Erfahrungen ist bei bestimmungsgemässer Anwendung kein Risiko für das Kind bekannt. Systematische wissenschaftliche Untersuchungen wurden aber nie durchgeführt. Vorsichtshalber sollten Sie während der Schwangerschaft und Stillzeit möglichst auf Arzneimittel verzichten oder den Arzt oder den Apotheker bzw. die Ärztin oder die Apothekerin um Rat fragen.

+-Wie verwenden Sie Nalcrom?

Die Einnahme von Nalcrom sollte jeweils 15?30 Minuten vor den Mahlzeiten erfolgen.

Soweit nicht anders verordnet, nehmen Erwachsene 4× täglich 2 Kapseln oder 1 Sachet zu 200 mg und Kinder im Alter von 2 bis 14 Jahren 4× täglich 1 Kapsel oder 1 Sachet zu 100 mg.

Die Kapseln können geschluckt werden. Es ist jedoch empfehlenswert, den Kapselinhalt aufgelöst in 2?3 Esslöffeln warmem Wasser einzunehmen.

Den Inhalt eines Sachets aufgelöst in einem halben Becher Wasser einnehmen.

Da Allergene bereits durch die Mundschleimhaut aufgenommen werden können, ist es vorteilhaft, vor dem Herunterschlucken den Mund mit der Lösung zu spülen.

Ändern Sie nicht von sich aus die verschriebene Dosierung. Wenn Sie glauben, das Arzneimittel wirke zu schwach oder zu stark, so sprechen Sie mit Ihrem Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. Ärztin oder Apothekerin.

+-Welche Nebenwirkungen kann Nalcrom haben?

Folgende Nebenwirkungen können bei der Einnahme von Nalcrom auftreten:

Übelkeit, Erbrechen, Durchfall, Bauchschmerzen, Hautausschlag, Gelenkschmerzen und Kopfschmerzen sind gelegentlich beobachtet worden. In sehr seltenen Fällen wurde über Überempfindlichkeitsreaktionen (z.B. mit Hautrötung und Hitzegefühl, Nesselsucht, Oedemen im Gesichtsbereich und Atemnot) berichtet. Wenn diese Beschwerden, die normalerweise nach Absetzen des Arzneimittels spontan abklingen, stärker auftreten, suchen Sie bitte Ihren Arzt bzw. Ihre Ärztin auf.

Informieren Sie ebenfalls Ihren Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. Ärztin oder Apothekerin wenn Sie Nebenwirkungen beobachten, die hier nicht beschrieben sind.

+-Was ist ferner zu beachten?

Nicht in Reichweite von Kindern aufbewahren. Trocken und bei Raumtemperatur (15?25 °C) lagern.

Behältnis nach Gebrauch sorgfältig verschliessen.

Das Arzneimittel darf nur bis zu dem auf dem Behältnis mit «EXP» bezeichneten Datum verwendet werden.
