Nasic ist ein Nasenspray mit Sprühvorrichtung und enthält zwei Wirkstoffe: Xylometazolin hat gefässverengende Eigenschaften und bewirkt dadurch Schleimhautabschwellung. Dexpanthenol ist ein Abkömmling des Vitamins Pantothensäure, das sich durch wundheilungsfördernde und schleimhautschützende Eigenschaften auszeichnet.
Nasic wird angewendet zur Abschwellung der Nasenschleimhaut bei Schnupfen. Auf ärztliche Verschreibung hin kann Nasic auch angewendet werden bei anfallsweise auftretendem Fliessschnupfen (Rhinitis vasomotorica) und zur Behandlung der Nasenatmungsbehinderung nach operativen Eingriffen an der Nase.
Nasic ist für Erwachsene und Kinder ab 6 Jahren bestimmt.
Dieses Arzneimittel dürfen Sie nicht anwenden bei:
-Überempfindlichkeit gegenüber einem der Bestandteile von Nasic,
-trockener Entzündung der Nasenschleimhaut mit Borkenbildung (Rhinitis sicca),
-bei Engwinkelglaukom (grüner Star),
-Säuglingen und Kleinkindern unter 6 Jahren.
Bei längerer Anwendung oder höherer Dosierung von Nasic sind Wirkungen auf Herz- und Kreislauffunktionen oder das Nervensystem nicht auszuschliessen. In diesen Fällen kann die Fähigkeit zum Führen eines Kraftfahrzeuges und zur Bedienung von Maschinen beeinträchtigt sein. Dauergebrauch von Nasic kann zu chronischer Schwellung und schliesslich zum Schwund der Nasenschleimhaut führen.
Nasic darf nur nach Rücksprache mit Ihrem Arzt, Apotheker bzw. Ärztin oder Apothekerin angewendet werden wenn Sie:
-mit Monoaminoxidase-Hemmern (MAO-Hemmern) und anderen potentiell blutdrucksteigernden Arzneimitteln behandelt werden,
-erhöhtem Augeninnendruck,
-unter schweren Herz- und Kreislauferkrankungen (z.B. koronarer Herzkrankheit, Hypertonie) leiden,
-gewisse Krebsformen (Phäochromozytom),
-Hyperthyreose,
-Diabetes.
Informieren Sie Ihren Arzt, Apotheker oder Drogisten bzw. Ihre Ärztin, Apothekerin oder Drogistin, wenn Sie an anderen Krankheiten leiden, Allergien haben oder andere Arzneimittel (auch Selbstgekaufte!) einnehmen oder äusserlich anwenden!
Nasic soll in der Schwangerschaft nicht angewendet werden, da unzureichende Untersuchungen über das ungeborene Kind vorliegen. Eine Anwendung in der Stillzeit sollte unterbleiben, da nicht bekannt ist, ob der Wirkstoff Xylometazolinhydrochlorid in die Muttermilch übergeht.
Schnupfen: Soweit nicht anders verordnet, wird bei Erwachsenen und Schulkindern nach Bedarf bis zu 3-mal täglich je ein Sprühstoss Nasic bei senkrecht gehaltener Flasche in jede Nasenöffnung eingebracht; während des Sprühvorgangs wird leicht durch die Nase eingeatmet. Die Dosierung richtet sich nach der individuellen Empfindlichkeit und der klinischen Wirkung.
Nach operativen Eingriffen an der Nase: gemäss ärztlicher Verordnung.
Anleitung: Die Schutzkappe für den Sprühkopf abziehen. Vor der ersten Anwendung mehrmals pumpen, bis ein gleichmässiger Sprühnebel austritt. Den Sprühkopf möglichst senkrecht in die Nasenöffnungen einführen und jeweils 1-mal pumpen. Dabei leicht durch die Nase einatmen. Nach Gebrauch den Sprühkopf aus hygienischen Gründen abwischen und die Schutzkappe wieder aufsetzen. Bei allen weiteren Anwendungen ist der Dosierspray sofort gebrauchsfertig, wenn Sie die Schutzkappe abziehen und ihn wie oben beschrieben verwenden.
Nasic sollte nicht länger als 7 Tage angewendet werden, es sei denn auf ärztliche Anordnung.
Eine erneute Anwendung sollte erst nach einer Pause von mehreren Tagen erfolgen.
Zur Anwendungsdauer bei Kindern sollte grundsätzlich der Arzt befragt werden.
Sollten Sie vergessen Nasic anzuwenden, wenden Sie beim nächsten Mal nicht die doppelte Menge an, sondern führen Sie die Anwendung wie in der Dosierungsanleitung beschrieben fort.
Halten Sie sich an die in der Packungsbeilage angegebene oder vom Arzt oder der Ärztin verschriebene Dosierung. Wenn Sie glauben, das Arzneimittel wirke zu schwach oder zu stark, so sprechen Sie mit Ihrem Arzt, Apotheker oder Drogisten bzw. Ihrer Ärztin, Apothekerin oder Drogistin.
Folgende Nebenwirkungen können bei der Anwendung von Nasic auftreten:
Atemwege
Nasic kann insbesondere bei empfindlichen Patienten vorübergehende leichte Reizerscheinungen (Brennen oder Trockenheit der Nasenschleimhaut) hervorrufen.
Häufig kommt es nach Abklingen der Wirkung zu einer verstärkten Schleimhautschwellung (reaktive Hyperämie).
Längerer oder häufiger Gebrauch sowie höhere Dosierung von Nasic kann zu Reizerscheinungen (Brennen oder Trockenheit der Schleimhaut) und verstärkter Schleimhautschwellung führen, die durch verstärkten Arzneimittelgebrauch verschlimmert werden (Rhinitis medicamentosa). Dieser Effekt kann schon nach 5-tägiger Behandlung auftreten und bei fortgesetzter Anwendung eine bleibende Schleimhautschädigung mit Borkenbildung (Rhinitis sicca) hervorrufen.
Nervensystem
Selten treten Kopfschmerzen, Schlaflosigkeit oder auch Müdigkeit auf.
Herz und Kreislauf
Gelegentlich kommt es zu Wirkungen auf Herz und Kreislauf, wie z.B. Herzklopfen, Pulsbeschleunigung, Blutdruckanstieg.
Immunsystem
In sehr seltenen Fällen können allergische Reaktionen mit Atemnot auftreten.
Wenn Sie Nebenwirkungen bemerken, die hier nicht beschrieben sind, sollten Sie Ihren Arzt, Apotheker oder Drogisten bzw. Ihre Ärztin, Apothekerin oder Drogistin informieren.
Das Arzneimittel darf nur bis zu dem auf dem Behälter mit «EXP» bezeichneten Datum verwendet werden. Haltbarkeit nach Öffnen des Nasensprays: 12 Wochen.
Bei Raumtemperatur (15?25 °C) lagern.
Weitere Auskünfte erteilt Ihnen Ihr Arzt, Apotheker oder Drogist bzw. Ihre Ärztin, Apothekerin oder Drogistin. Diese Personen verfügen über die ausführliche Fachinformation.

1 Sprühstoss zu 0,1 ml Lösung (entspricht 0,10 g) enthält 0,1 mg Xylometazolinhydrochlorid und 5,0 mg Dexpanthenol.
