+-Was ist NeoCitran Hustenlöser und wann wird es angewendet?

NeoCitran Hustenlöser ist ein Hustenmittel, das den zähen Schleim in den Luftwegen verflüssigt, den Auswurf fördert und den Hustenreiz lindert. NeoCitran Hustenlöser wird zur Linderung des Hustens und Förderung des Abhustens, vorwiegend bei Erkältungen der oberen Luftwege, angewendet.

+-Was sollte dazu beachtet werden?

Die Wirkung von NeoCitran Hustenlöser wird durch reichliches Trinken gefördert. Rauchen trägt zum Auftreten von Schleim in den Atemwegen und von Husten («Raucherhusten») bei. Sie können die Wirkung von NeoCitran Hustenlöser unterstützen, indem Sie auf das Rauchen verzichten.

NeoCitran Hustenlöser Sirup ist mit Saccharin und Sorbitol gesüsst und daher auch für Diabetiker geeignet.

+-Wann darf NeoCitran Hustenlöser Sirup nicht angewendet werden?

NeoCitran Hustenlöser Sirup darf nicht angewendet werden bei Überempfindlichkeit auf einen der Inhaltsstoffe (siehe «Was ist in NeoCitran Hustenlöser Sirup enthalten?») oder wenn Sie an einer (seltenen) erblichen Krankheit des Zuckerstoffwechsels, der sogenannten Fruktose-Intoleranz, leiden. NeoCitran Hustenlöser Sirup enthält als Süssmittel Sorbitol, einen Zucker, der bei der Verdauung Fruktose bildet.

NeoCitran Hustenlöser Sirup enthält 6 Vol.-% Alkohol. NeoCitran Hustenlöser Sirup ist nicht für Kinder und Jugendliche geeignet.

+-Wann ist bei der Einnahme von NeoCitran Hustenlöser Vorsicht geboten?

Konsultieren Sie einen Arzt oder eine Ärztin, wenn

  • Atemnot auftritt,
  • der Husten mit blutigem Auswurf oder einer übermässigen Schleimabsonderung einhergeht,
  • der Husten anhaltend oder chronisch ist, z.B. bei Rauchern, Asthmatikern, chronischer Bronchitis oder Emphysem (Überblähung der Lungenbläschen).
  • Falls der Husten länger als 7 Tage anhält, wieder zurückkehrt oder von Fieber, Hautausschlag oder anhaltenden Kopfschmerzen begleitet ist, sollten Sie die Anwendung von NeoCitran Hustenlöser beenden und ärztlichen Rat aufsuchen. Ein anhaltender Husten kann ein Zeichen für eine ernsthafte Erkrankung sein.

Vorsicht ist geboten bei Magen-Darm-Erkrankungen, eingeschränkter Nierenfunktion oder wenn Sie an einer besonderen Art von Muskelschwäche (sogenannte Myasthenia gravis) leiden.

Bei Auftreten von Überempfindlichkeitsreaktionen (siehe unter: «Welche Nebenwirkungen kann NeoCitran Hustenlöser haben?») müssen Sie die Behandlung sofort abbrechen und so rasch wie möglich einen Arzt oder eine Ärztin aufsuchen.

Auf die gleichzeitige Einnahme von Arzneimitteln, die den Hustenreiz herabsetzen oder aufheben (sogenannte Antitussiva), sollten Sie verzichten, da es dadurch zu einem unerwünschten Stau, des durch NeoCitran Hustenlöser verflüssigten Bronchialschleimes, mit dem Risiko eines Bronchialkrampfes und einer Lungenentzündung kommen kann.

Bei gleichzeitiger Einnahme gewisser Beruhigungsmittel (Sedativa) oder gewisser die Muskeln entspannender Mittel (Muskelrelaxantien) kann deren Wirkung durch Guaifenesin verstärkt werden.

NeoCitran Hustenlöser Sirup enthält Alkohol. Erwachsene nehmen pro Einzeldosis (10 ml) bis zu 470 mg Alkohol ein.

Ein gesundheitliches Risiko besteht u.a. für Leberkranke, Alkoholkranke, Epileptiker, Hirngeschädigte, Schwangere, Stillende sowie für Kinder. Die Wirkung anderer Arzneimittel kann verstärkt oder beeinträchtigt werden.

NeoCitran Hustenlöser kann auch bei bestimmungsgemässer Anwendung die Reaktionsfähigkeit, die Fahrtüchtigkeit und die Fähigkeit, Werkzeuge oder Maschinen zu bedienen, beeinträchtigen!

Informieren Sie Ihren Arzt, Apotheker oder Drogisten bzw. Ihre Ärztin, Apothekerin oder Drogistin, wenn Sie

  • an anderen Krankheiten leiden,
  • Allergien haben oder
  • andere Arzneimittel (auch selbst gekaufte!) einnehmen oder äusserlich anwenden.
+-Darf NeoCitran Hustenlöser während einer Schwangerschaft oder in der Stillzeit eingenommen werden?

NeoCitran Hustenlöser sollte in der Schwangerschaft ausschliesslich nach Rücksprache mit dem Arzt oder der Ärztin eingenommen werden. Frauen, die stillen, sollen das Arzneimittel nicht einnehmen.

+-Wie verwenden Sie NeoCitran Hustenlöser Sirup?

Erwachsene: 4-mal täglich 5-10 ml.

NeoCitran Hustenlöser Sirup enthält 6 Vol.-% Alkohol. NeoCitran Hustenlöser Sirup ist nicht für Kinder und Jugendliche geeignet.

Messen Sie mit dem beigepackten graduierten Messbecher. Nach Gebrauch und vor Benutzung durch eine andere Person den Messbecher mit Wasser spülen und trocknen.

Zusätzlich zur Einnahme des Arzneimittels ist reichliche Flüssigkeitszufuhr (z.B. Tee, Fruchtsaft usw.) empfehlenswert.

Halten Sie sich an die in der Packungsbeilage angegebene oder vom Arzt oder der Ärztin verschriebene Dosierung. Wenn Sie glauben, das Arzneimittel wirke zu schwach oder zu stark, so sprechen Sie mit Ihrem Arzt, Apotheker oder Drogisten bzw. mit Ihrer Ärztin, Apothekerin oder Drogistin.

+-Welche Nebenwirkungen kann NeoCitran Hustenlöser haben?

Wie alle Arzneimittel kann NeoCitran Hustenlöser Nebenwirkungen verursachen, die aber nicht bei jedem auftreten müssen. Es können Magen- und Darmbeschwerden auftreten, wie z.B. Übelkeit, Erbrechen, Diarrhöe sowie Wärmegefühl, Schwindel oder Blutbildveränderungen (die genaue Häufigkeit dieser Nebenwirkungen ist unbekannt).

In seltenen Fällen treten Überempfindlichkeitsreaktionen (Allergien) auf, die sich u.a. als Hautausschlag, Beschleunigung des Herzschlags und Atembeschwerden bemerkbar machen. Das betrifft insbesondere Patienten mit Asthma und Nesselfieber.

Wenn Sie Nebenwirkungen bemerken, die hier nicht beschrieben sind, sollten Sie Ihren Arzt, Apotheker oder Drogisten bzw. Ihre Ärztin, Apothekerin oder Drogistin informieren.
