Beim Erwachsenen verbessert Nootropil unter gewissen Bedingungen die Hirnfunktionen, insbesondere das Gedächtnis, die Aufmerksamkeit, Konzentration und Lernfähigkeit. Es verbessert die Bewegungskoordination bei Invalidität verursachenden Erkrankungen, den sogenannten kortikalen Myoklonien.
Beim Kind (ab dem 8. Lebensjahr) mit Leseschwäche (Dyslexie) wird die logopädische Behandlung unterstützt. Nootropil darf nur auf Verschreibung des Arztes oder der Ärztin eingenommen werden.
Die Dosierung von Nootropil oder anderer gleichzeitig eingenommener Arzneimittel darf ohne Rücksprache mit dem Arzt bzw. mit der Ärztin nicht geändert werden.
Bei bekannter Überempfindlichkeit gegenüber einem Bestandteil des Präparates darf Nootropil nicht eingenommen werden.
Patienten bzw. Patientinnen mit Alzheimer Demenz, mit Gehirnblutungen oder schweren Nierenfunktionsstörungen dürfen Nootropil nicht anwenden.
Nootropil darf nicht angewendet werden bei Patienten, die an Chorea Huntington leiden.
Bei ungenügender Nierenfunktion muss der Arzt oder die Ärztin die Dosierung gegebenenfalls verringern.
Die Einnahme von Nootropil sollte nur auf ausdrückliche Verordnung des Arztes bzw. der Ärztin erfolgen. Wenn Sie an Blutgerinnungsstörungen leiden, jemals einen Schlaganfall hatten, wenn grössere Operationen geplant sind oder wenn aufgrund anderer Ursachen grössere Blutungen auftreten, sollten Sie Ihren Arzt bzw. Ärztin informieren.
Dieses Arzneimittel kann die Reaktionsfähigkeit, die Fähigkeit Werkzeuge oder Maschinen zu bedienen und die Fahrtüchtigkeit beeinträchtigen!
Durch die gleichzeitige Verabreichung von Nootropil und bestimmten Arzneimitteln, die auf die Schilddrüsenfunktion einwirken, können Verwirrungszustände, Schlafstörungen und eine erhöhte Reizbarkeit eintreten. Bei gleichzeitiger Gabe von Nootropil und blutgerinnungshemmenden Arzneimitteln oder bestimmten Schmerz- und Rheumamitteln besteht die Gefahr von Blutungen. Falls Sie solche Arzneimittel einnehmen, müssen Sie Ihren Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. Ihre Ärztin oder Apothekerin darüber in Kenntnis setzen.
Bei ungenügender Nierenfunktion oder bei älteren Patienten bzw. Patientinnen wird der Arzt bzw. die Ärztin die Dosierung gegebenenfalls verringern und an die Funktionsfähigkeit Ihrer Nieren anpassen.
Informieren Sie Ihren Arzt bzw. Ihre Ärztin oder Apotheker bzw. Apothekerin, wenn Sie an anderen Krankheiten leiden, Allergien haben oder andere Arzneimittel (auch selbstgekaufte!) einnehmen oder äusserlich anwenden (bei Externa)!
Die Entscheidung, ein Arzneimittel wahrend der Schwangerschaft oder in der Stillzeit einzunehmen, muss stets mit grösster Vorsicht getroffen werden und darf erst nach Zustimmung Ihres Arztes bzw. Ihrer Ärztin erfolgen.
Es gibt nur begrenzt Erfahrung über die Anwendung von Nootropil während der Schwangerschaft. Das Arzneimittel geht in die Muttermilch über.
Deshalb sollte bei Anwendung von Nootropil während der Stillzeit, abgestillt werden.
Falls Sie während der Behandlung schwanger werden oder wenn Sie Ihr Kind stillen möchten, wenden Sie sich an Ihren Arzt oder Ihre Ärztin, der oder die Ihnen gegebenenfalls zu einem Unterbruch der Behandlung raten wird.
Falls der behandelnde Arzt oder die Ärztin nichts anderes vorschreibt, wird Nootropil wie folgt eingenommen:
Je 2 Tabletten Nootropil zu 800 mg am Morgen, Mittag und Abend;
oder je 2 Tabletten Nootropil zu 1200 mg am Morgen und Abend;
oder je 7,2 ml Nootropil Trinklösung 33% am Morgen und Abend (Achtung: sowohl am Morgen als auch am Abend mit der beiliegenden Dosierpipette 2× bis zum Teilstrich 3,6 ml aufziehen und entleeren, siehe unter «Korrekte Art der Einnahme»);
je 1 Tablette Nootropil zu 800 mg am Morgen, Mittag und Abend;
oder je 1 Tablette Nootropil zu 1200 mg am Morgen und Abend;
oder je 3,6 ml Nootropil Trinklösung 33% am Morgen und Abend (Achtung: sowohl am Morgen als auch am Abend mit der beiliegenden Dosierpipette 1× bis zum Teilstrich 3,6 ml aufziehen und entleeren, siehe unter «Korrekte Art der Einnahme»);
Je 2 Tabletten Nootropil zu 800 mg am Morgen und Abend bei Kindern und Jugendlichen ab 8 Jahren.
In bestimmten Fällen kann der Arzt oder die Ärztin eine weit höhere Dosierung anordnen, beispielsweise während den ersten Wochen nach bestimmten Bewegungsstörungen.
Es wird empfohlen, Nootropil vor den Mahlzeiten einzunehmen. Nehmen Sie die Tabletten unzerkaut mit etwas Wasser vor den Mahlzeiten ein. Die Trinklösung wird mit der beiliegenden Dosierpipette abgemessen und kann mit etwas Fruchtsaft oder Wasser verdünnt werden.
Lassen Sie sich das korrekte Abmessen der Lösung das erste Mal von Ihrem Arzt oder Apotheker resp. von Ihrer Ärztin oder Apothekerin zeigen.
Stellen Sie sicher, dass sich der orange Kolben in der Messpipette ganz unten befindet (bis zum Anschlag nach unten drücken).
Öffnen Sie die Flasche und führen Sie die Pipette senkrecht in die Flasche ein.
Halten Sie die Pipette mit der einen Hand so, dass sie in die Trinklösung eintaucht. Ziehen Sie nun mit der anderen Hand langsam den orangen Kolben nach oben bis der Teilstrich 3,6 ml am oberen Rand des weissen Zylinders erscheint.
Entleeren Sie den Pipetteninhalt (= 3,6 ml) in ein Glas Wasser oder Fruchtsaft, indem Sie den orangen Kolben langsam bis zum Anschlag nach unten drücken.
Reinigen Sie die Dosierpipette nach jedem Gebrauch gründlich, indem Sie den Kolben aus dem Zylinder ziehen und beide Teile unter fliessendem Wasser spülen. Die Dosierpipette nach dem Trocknen wieder zusammensetzen.
Achtung: Mit der beiliegenden Dosierpipette können Sie maximal 5 ml Trinklösung entnehmen. Hat Ihnen der Arzt bzw. Ihre Ärztin eine Dosis von 7,2 ml verordnet, müssen Sie mit der Pipette 2× bis zum Teilstrich 3,6 ml aufziehen und entleeren.
Ändern Sie nicht von sich aus die verschriebene Dosierung. Wenn Sie glauben, das Arzneimittel wirke zu schwach oder zu stark, so sprechen Sie mit Ihrem Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. mit Ihrer Ärztin oder Apothekerin.
Folgende Nebenwirkungen können bei der Einnahme oder Anwendung von Nootropil auftreten:
Häufig: Gewichtszunahme, übermäßige Bewegungsaktivität oder Nervosität.
Gelegentlich: Schläfrigkeit, Depressionen, Schwächezustände, gesteigertes sexuelles Verlangen oder Libido-Steigerung.
In der Zeit nach der Zulassung des Arzneimittels wurden folgende zusätzliche Nebenwirkungen beobachtet, zu denen allerdings keine verlässlichen Angaben zur Häufigkeit ihres Auftretens gemacht werden können:
Sollten diese Wirkungen nicht spontan abklingen oder irgendwelche andere Symptome auftreten, die Ihrer Meinung nach von Nootropil verursacht worden sind, informieren Sie sofort Ihren Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. Ihre Ärztin oder Apothekerin, aber reduzieren Sie die Dosierung nie von sich aus.
Wenn Sie Nebenwirkungen bemerken, die hier nicht beschrieben sind, sollten Sie Ihren Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. ihre Ärztin oder Apothekerin informieren.
Dieses Arzneimittel muss bei Raumtemperatur (15?25 °C) und ausser Reichweite von Kindern aufbewahrt werden. Das Arzneimittel darf nur bis zu dem auf der Packung mit «Exp» bezeichneten Datum verwendet werden.
Haltbarkeit nach Öffnen der Trinklösung: 60 Tage.
Nach Abschluss der Behandlung bringen Sie das angebrochene Arzneimittel Ihrem Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. Ihrer Ärztin oder Apothekerin, der oder die es einer umweltgerechten Entsorgung zuführen wird.
Weitere Auskünfte erteilt Ihnen Ihr Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. Ihre Ärztin oder Apothekerin. Diese Personen verfügen über die ausführliche Fachinformation.
Die Wirksubstanz von Nootropil ist Piracetam.
1 Tablette enthält 800 mg bzw. 1200 mg Piracetam sowie Hilfsstoffe.
1 ml Trinklösung 33% enthält 333,3 mg Piracetam, die Konservierungsstoffe E216 und E218, sowie andere Hilfsstoffe.
