Nortrilen ist ein Antidepressivum und enthält als Wirkstoff Nortriptylin. Da Nortrilen nicht nur depressionslösend, sondern auch aktivierend wirkt, wird es auf Verschreibung des Arztes bzw. der Ärztin angewendet bei Depressionen, die durch Zurückgezogenheit, Hemmung, Teilnahmslosigkeit und Angst charakterisiert sind.
In der Regel ist die aktivierende Wirkung schnell erkennbar, während die stimmungsaufhellende Wirkung innerhalb zwei bis vier Wochen eintritt. Im Allgemeinen ist eine Behandlung über Wochen oder Monate notwendig.
Nortrilen wird auf Verschreibung des Arztes oder der Ärztin angewendet.
Wichtig ist, dass Sie und Ihre Familienangehörigen oder Betreuungspersonen während der Nortrilen-Behandlung jede Veränderung Ihrer Gemütslage mit Ihrem Arzt oder Ihrer Ärztin besprechen.
Bei unzureichender Funktion des Herzens oder der Leber sowie bei Unverträglichkeit auf den Wirkstoff Nortriptylin.
Bei Patienten bzw. Patientinnen mit Leberfunktionsstörungen, Neigung zu Krampfanfällen, Epilepsie sowie bei Zustandsbildern des Wahns und Irreseins.
Patienten bzw. Patientinnen, welche vorher mit sogenannten MAO-Hemmern (Arzneimittel gegen Depressionen) behandelt wurden, müssen vor der Behandlung mit Nortrilen eine Pause von 14 Tagen einschalten.
Dieses Arzneimittel kann die Reaktionsfähigkeit, die Fahrtüchtigkeit und die Fähigkeit, Werkzeuge oder Maschinen zu bedienen, beeinträchtigen!
Die Wirkung von Alkohol kann ebenfalls verstärkt werden, daher ist ein Verzicht auf Alkohol während der Behandlung angezeigt.
Informieren Sie Ihren Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. Ihre Ärztin oder Apothekerin, wenn Sie an anderen Krankheiten leiden, Allergien haben oder andere Arzneimittel (auch selbst gekaufte!) einnehmen oder äusserlich anwenden!
Nortrilen soll nicht in der Behandlung von Patienten bzw. Patientinnen unter 18 Jahren eingesetzt werden.
Unter der Behandlung mit Nortrilen können sich die Symptome der Depression, insbesondere suizidales Verhalten, verschlechtern. In diesem Fall sollten Sie umgehend Ihren Arzt bzw. Ihre Ärztin kontaktieren.
Ein Abbruch der Behandlung darf nicht plötzlich und nur in Absprache mit Ihrem Arzt bzw. mit Ihrer Ärztin erfolgen, da es sonst zu Entzugssymptomen kommen kann.
Bei Kindern und Jugendlichen mit Depressionen oder anderen psychiatrischen Diagnosen wurde unter der Behandlung mit Antidepressiva über ein vermehrtes Auftreten von Verhaltensstörungen inkl. erhöhtem Risiko von Suizidgedanken, Selbstverletzungen und vollendetem Suizid berichtet.
Ergebnisse aus klinischen Studien haben ein erhöhtes Risiko für das Auftreten von Suizidverhalten bei jungen Erwachsenen im Alter bis 25 Jahre gezeigt, die unter einer psychiatrischen Erkrankung litten und mit einem Antidepressivum behandelt wurden.
Sofern nicht anders verordnet, soll Nortrilen während der Schwangerschaft und Stillperiode nicht eingenommen werden, ausser Ihr Arzt oder Ihre Ärztin verschreibt Ihnen das Arzneimittel ganz ausdrücklich. Da Nortriptylin in die Muttermilch übergeht, soll Nortrilen auch in der Stillzeit nicht eingenommen werden. Für beide Situationen kann Ihr Arzt oder Ihre Ärztin Ausnahmen machen.
Die Dosierung hängt von der Art und Schwere des Leidens sowie vom Alter und Zustand des Patienten bzw. der Patientin ab. Älteren, geschwächten Patienten bzw. Patientinnen ist grundsätzlich die niedrigste Dosis zu verabreichen. Die Tagesdosis soll langsam aufgebaut werden. Die Hauptdosis wird immer morgens verabreicht. Die gesamte Tagesdosis kann auch in einer einzigen Morgendosis verabreicht werden.
Anfänglich soll die Dosierung 50 mg morgens oder 2?3-mal täglich 25 mg Nortrilen betragen; falls notwendig, um 25 mg ansteigend bis täglich 100?150 mg.
Bei leichten Depressionen und bei Patienten bzw. Patientinnen über 60 Jahren reichen oft schon 2?3-mal täglich 10 mg Nortrilen. Falls angezeigt, kann diese Tagesdosis von 20?30 mg langsam erhöht werden bis auf maximal 150 mg täglich.
Nortrilen soll nicht in der Behandlung von Patienten bzw. Patientinnen unter 18 Jahren eingesetzt werden.
Ändern Sie nicht von sich aus die verschriebene Dosierung. Wenn Sie glauben, das Arzneimittel wirke zu schwach oder zu stark, so sprechen Sie mit Ihrem Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. mit Ihrer Ärztin oder Apothekerin.
Folgende Nebenwirkungen können bei der Einnahme von Nortrilen auftreten:
Es können wie bei anderen Antidepressiva Mundtrockenheit, verstärkte Schweissabsonderung, beschleunigter Herzschlag, Schwindel und Sehstörungen auftreten. Seltener können auch Verstopfung, Schwierigkeiten beim Wasserlösen, Zittern und Gewichtszunahme vorkommen. Bei fortgesetzter Einnahme von Nortrilen verschwinden diese Nebenwirkungen oft wieder. Blutdruckabfall beim Aufstehen, Störungen der Impulsüberleitung beim Herzen verschwinden nach Absetzen des Arzneimittels. Wenn Sie solche Symptome beobachten, informieren Sie in jedem Fall Ihren Arzt oder Ihre Ärztin.
Bei Kindern und Jugendlichen wurde während der Behandlung mit Arzneimitteln gegen Depressionen über ein vermehrtes Auftreten von Verhaltensstörungen berichtet.
Es wurde ein erhöhtes Risiko von Knochenbrüchen bei Patienten und Patientinnen im Alter über 50 Jahren, welche diese Art von Arzneimitteln einnehmen, beobachtet.
Wenn Sie Nebenwirkungen bemerken, die hier nicht beschrieben sind, sollten Sie Ihren Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. Ihre Ärztin oder Apothekerin informieren.
Wie jedes andere Arzneimittel soll Nortrilen ausserhalb der Reichweite von Kindern aufbewahrt werden.
Nortrilen soll trocken und bei Raumtemperatur (15?25 °C) aufbewahrt werden.
Das Arzneimittel darf nur bis zu dem auf dem Behälter mit «EXP» bezeichneten Datum verwendet werden.
Bitte bringen Sie nicht verwendete Filmtabletten oder Filmtabletten, deren Verfalldatum abgelaufen ist, der Apotheke zur Entsorgung zurück.
Weitere Auskünfte erteilt Ihnen Ihr Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. Ihre Ärztin oder Apothekerin. Diese Personen verfügen über die ausführliche Fachinformation.
