+-Was ist NovoEight und wann wird es angewendet?

NovoEight enthält den Wirkstoff turoctocog alfa, ein humaner Gerinnungsfaktor VIII, welcher mit Hilfe von rekombinanter DNA-Technologie hergestellter wird.

NovoEight wird zur Behandlung und Vermeidung von Blutungen bei Patienten mit vorbehandelter Hämophilie A verwendet.

Bei Patienten mit Hämophilie A fehlt der Faktor VIII oder funktioniert nicht richtig. NovoEight ersetzt diesen fehlerhaften oder fehlenden «Faktor VIII» und unterstützt das Blut bei der Bildung von Gerinnseln am Blutungsort.

NovoEight enthält keinen von-Willebrand-Faktor und darf daher nicht für die Behandlung des von-Willebrand-Jürgens-Syndroms verwendet werden.

+-Wann darf NovoEight nicht angewendet werden?
  • wenn Sie allergisch gegenüber einem der Inhaltsstoffe von NovoEight sind. Siehe unter «Was ist in NovoEight enthalten?».
  • wenn Sie an einer Überempfindlichkeit gegenüber Hamsterproteinen leiden.

Wenden Sie NovoEight nicht an, wenn eines davon auf Sie zutrifft. Sollten Sie sich nicht sicher sein, konsultieren Sie Ihren Arzt bzw. Ihre Ärztin, bevor Sie das Arzneimittel verwenden.

+-Wann ist bei der Anwendung von NovoEight Vorsicht geboten?

Wenden Sie NovoEight niemals ohne Verschreibung durch Ihren Arzt oder Ihre Ärztin an. Befolgen Sie stets die Verordnung sowie die Anweisungen Ihres Arztes bzw. Ihrer Ärztin.

Kontaktieren Sie sofort Ihren Arzt bzw. Ihre Ärztin oder suchen Sie unverzüglich ein Krankenhaus auf:

  • wenn Ihre Blutung nicht wie erwartet aufhört.

Sprechen Sie mit Ihrem Arzt bzw. Ihrer Ärztin:

  • wenn Sie nicht das Gefühl haben, dass Ihre Blutung mit der Ihnen verordneten Dosis kontrolliert werden kann, da dies verschiedene Ursachen haben kann. Einige Menschen, die dieses Arzneimittel anwenden, können Antikörper gegen den Faktor VIII (auch bekannt als «Faktor VIII-Inhibitor») entwickeln. «Faktor VIII-Inhibitoren» können eine normale Wirkungsweise dieses Arzneimittels verhindern.
    Wenn dies eintritt:
    ? benötigen Sie möglicherweise eine höhere Dosis NovoEight oder ein anderes Arzneimittel, um Ihre Blutungen zu kontrollieren.
    ? erhöhen Sie nicht ohne Rücksprache mit Ihrem Arzt bzw. Ihrer Ärztin die Gesamtdosis NovoEight, um Ihre Blutung zu kontrollieren.

NovoEight kann einige schwere Nebenwirkungen, darunter auch allergische Reaktionen, auslösen. Sie müssen sich dessen bewusst sein, solange Sie NovoEight verwenden. Siehe dazu in der Rubrik «Welche Nebenwirkungen kann NovoEight haben?» unter «Ernste Nebenwirkungen».

Fahrtüchtigkeit und Bedienung von Maschinen

NovoEight hat keinerlei Auswirkungen auf die Fahrtüchtigkeit und die Fähigkeit Maschinen zu bedienen.

NovoEight enthält Natrium

Dieses Arzneimittel enthält nach der Rekonstitution 18 mg Natrium je Durchstechflasche. Sprechen Sie mit Ihrem Arzt bzw. Ihrer Ärztin, wenn Sie auf eine natriumarme Ernährung achten müssen.

Anwendung von NovoEight zusammen mit anderen Arzneimitteln

Informieren Sie Ihren Arzt, Apotheker bzw. Ihre Ärztin, Apothekerin, wenn Sie

  • an anderen Allergien leiden,
  • Allergien haben oder
  • andere Arzneimittel (auch selbst gekaufte!) einnehmen oder äusserlich anwenden!
+-Darf NovoEight während einer Schwangerschaft oder in der Stillzeit angewendet werden?

Wenn Sie schwanger sind oder stillen, vermuten, dass Sie schwanger sind, oder beabsichtigen, schwanger zu werden, konsultieren Ihren Arzt bzw. Ihre Ärztin, bevor Sie dieses Arzneimittel anwenden. Ihr Arzt bzw. Ihre Ärztin wird die Risiken für Sie und Ihr Kind gegen den Nutzen für Sie abwägen und Ihnen NovoEight nur dann verschreiben, wenn es eindeutig angezeigt ist.

+-Wie verwenden Sie NovoEight?

Die Behandlung mit NovoEight wird von einem Arzt bzw. einer Ärztin mit Erfahrungen in der Behandlung von Patienten mit Hämophilie A initiiert. Verwenden Sie dieses Arzneimittel genauso, wie es Ihnen von Ihrem Arzt oder Ihrer Ärztin erklärt wurde. Bitte fragen Sie Ihren Arzt bzw. Ihre Ärztin, wenn Sie nicht sicher sind.

Ändern Sie nicht von sich aus die verschriebene Dosierung. Wenn Sie glauben, das Arzneimittel wirke zu schwach oder zu stark, so sprechen Sie mit Ihrem Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. mit Ihrer Ärztin oder Apothekerin.

Die Verabreichung von NovoEight

NovoEight wird als Injektion in eine Vene verabreicht. Für weitere Informationen siehe unter «Hinweise zur Anwendung von NovoEight».

Dosierung

Ihr Arzt bzw. Ihre Ärztin wird Ihre Dosis für Sie berechnen. Diese ist von Ihrem Körpergewicht sowie davon abhängig, zu welchem Zweck das Arzneimittel eingesetzt wird.

Vorbeugung von Blutungen

  • Die übliche Dosis NovoEight beträgt 20 bis 50 internationale Einheiten (IE) pro kg Körpergewicht.
  • Die Injektion erfolgt alle 2 bis 3 Tage.
  • In einigen Fällen, insbesondere bei jüngeren Patienten, können häufigere Injektionen oder eine höhere Dosierung erforderlich sein.

Behandlung von Blutungen

  • Die NovoEight-Dosis hängt von Ihrem Körpergewicht sowie davon ab, wie viel NovoEight benötigt wird. Die erforderliche Menge NovoEight hängt davon ab, wo sich die Blutung befindet und wie stark sie ist.

Verwendung bei Kindern

NovoEight kann bei Kindern aller Altersstufen angewendet werden.

Wenn Sie mehr NovoEight verabreicht haben, als Sie sollten, informieren Sie Ihren Arzt bzw. Ihre Ärztin oder begeben Sie sich unverzüglich in ein Krankenhaus.

Wenn Sie aufhören NovoEight anzuwenden

Wenn Sie aufhören NovoEight anzuwenden, könnten Sie nicht mehr vor Blutungen geschützt sein oder eine aktuelle Blutung könnte nicht mehr aufhören. Beenden Sie die Anwendung von NovoEight nicht ohne Rücksprache mit Ihrem Arzt bzw. Ihrer Ärztin.

+-Welche Nebenwirkungen kann NovoEight haben?

Wie alle Arzneimittel kann auch dieses Arzneimittel Nebenwirkungen verursachen, auch wenn diese nicht bei jedem auftreten. Folgende Nebenwirkungen können bei diesem Arzneimittel auftreten:

Ernste Nebenwirkungen

Setzen Sie NovoEight ab und suchen Sie unverzüglich einen Arzt/eine Ärztin auf, wenn Sie eines der nachfolgenden Anzeichen feststellen:

  • eine allergische Reaktion. Zu den Symptomen können gehören:
  • Atembeschwerden, Kurzatmigkeit oder schwerer Atem
  • ein Engegefühl im Brustkorb
  • Anschwellen der Lippen und der Zunge
  • Ausschlag, Nesseln, Quaddeln oder generalisierter Juckreiz
  • Schwindelgefühl oder Ohnmacht
  • niedriger Blutdruck (blasse und kalte Haut, Herzrasen)
  • eine schwere allergische Reaktion (Anaphylaxie). Zu den Symptomen können auch gehören:
  • Schluck- oder Atembeschwerden
  • Rötung oder Anschwellen des Gesichtes oder der Hände.

Wenn Sie schwere allergische Reaktionen aufweisen, kann Ihr Arzt/Ihre Ärztin Ihre Medikation umstellen.

Andere Nebenwirkungen:

  • Blutwerte, die Veränderungen der Leberfunktion anzeigen
  • lokale Reaktionen an der Injektionsstelle

Gelegentlich (weniger als 1 von 100)

  • Schlaflosigkeit
  • Kopfschmerzen
  • Schwindelgefühl
  • Herzrasen (erhöhte Herzfrequenz)
  • Bluthochdruck
  • Flüssigkeitsansammlungen in den Lymphgefässen (Lymphödeme)
  • Hautausschlag
  • Steifheitsgefühl und Schmerzen in den Muskeln und Gliedmassen, Gelenkerkrankungen (Arthropathie), Schmerzen in den Extremitäten
  • Müdigkeit, Hitzewallungen, Wassereinlagerung in den Geweben (periphere Ödeme) und Fieber
  • Blutergüsse

Wenn Sie Nebenwirkungen bemerken, die hier nicht beschrieben sind, sollten Sie Ihren Arzt, Apotheker bzw. Ihre Ärztin oder Apothekerin informieren.

+-Was ist ferner zu beachten?
  • Ausser Reich- und Sichtweite von Kindern aufbewahren.
  • Das Arzneimittel darf nur bis zum auf dem Behälter mit «EXP» bezeichneten Datum verwendet werden. Das aufgedruckte Datum bezieht sich auf den letzten Tag des jeweiligen Monats und ist auf der Faltschachtel und den Etiketten angegeben.
  • Zum Schutz vor Licht in der Originalverpackung aufbewahren.
  • Im Kühlschrank (2-8 °C) lagern.
  • Nicht einfrieren.

Bevor das NovoEight-Pulver aufbereitet ist, kann es für einen Zeitraum von nicht mehr als 6 Monaten bei Raumtemperatur (bis zu 30 °C) aufbewahrt werden. Vermerken Sie bitte den Beginn der Aufbewahrung von NovoEight bei Raumtemperatur auf der Faltschachtel. Bewahren Sie NovoEight nicht wieder im Kühlschrank auf, nachdem Sie es bereits bei Raumtemperatur gelagert hatten.

Sobald Sie das NovoEight aufbereitet haben, sollte es unverzüglich verwendet werden. Wenn Sie die aufbereitete NovoEight-Lösung nicht sofort aufbrauchen können, kann sie in der Durchstechflasche mit nach wie vor aufgesetztem Durchstechflaschen-Adapter und Spritze bei Raumtemperatur (bis zu 30 °C) nicht länger als 4 Stunden bzw. im Kühlschrank bei 2-8 °C nicht länger als 24 Stunden aufbewahrt werden. Wenn es nicht unverzüglich verwendet wird, ist das Arzneimittel möglicherweise nicht mehr steril und könnte zu Infektionen führen. Lagern Sie die Lösung nicht ohne Rücksprache mit Ihrem Arzt bzw. Ihrer Ärztin.

Das Pulver in der Durchstechflasche muss weiss oder leicht gelblich sein. Verwenden Sie es nicht, wenn sich die Farbe verändert hat.

Die aufbereitete Lösung muss klar bis leicht opaleszierend sein. Verwenden Sie dieses Präparat nicht, wenn Sie bemerken, dass es trüb ist oder sichtbare Teilchen enthält.

Der Name und die Chargennummer des Präparates sollten nach jeder Verabreichung aufgezeichnet werden.

Entsorgen Sie Arzneimittel nie über das Abwasser oder den Hausmüll. Fragen Sie in Ihrer Apotheke nach, wie nicht mehr verwendete Arzneimittel zu entsorgen sind. Damit leisten Sie einen Beitrag zum Umweltschutz.

+-Was ist in NovoEight enthalten?

Wirkstoff: turoctocog alfa (Gerinnungsfaktor VIII [rDNA]). Jede Durchstechflasche NovoEight enthält gemäss Deklaration 250, 500, 1?000, 1?500, 2?000 oder 3?000 IE turoctocog alfa.

Hilfsstoffe: L-Histidin, Saccharose (Zucker), Polysorbat 80, Natriumchlorid, L-Methionin, Kalziumchloriddihydrat, Natriumhydroxid und Salzsäure

Lösungsmittel: Natriumchlorid 0.9%.

Nach der Aufbereitung mit dem mitgelieferten Lösungsmittel (Natriumchlorid-Lösung 9 mg/ml [= 0.9%] zum Injizieren) enthält die zubereitete Injektionslösung entsprechend 62.5; 125; 250; 375; 500 oder 750 IE turoctocog alfa pro ml (basierend auf der Stärke von turoctocog alfa, d.h. 250, 500, 1?000, 1?500, 2?000 oder 3?000 IE).
