Prostagutt-F ist ein pflanzliches Arzneimittel basierend auf Extrakten von Sägepalmfrüchten und Brennnesselwurzeln. Die sich gegenseitig ergänzende Kombination der beiden Extrakte wirkt abschwellend auf das Gewebe der vergrösserten Vorsteherdrüse (Prostata). Dadurch hat Prostagutt-F einen positiven Einfluss auf Harnentleerungsstörungen. Prostagutt-F vermindert den vermehrten Harndrang, verbessert den Harnabfluss aus der Blase, erhöht die Menge der Harnabgabe und verringert das in der Blase verbleibende Harnvolumen (Restharn). Dadurch wird unter anderem eine ungestörte Nachtruhe gefördert.
Prostagutt-F wird angewendet zur Linderung von Beschwerden infolge beginnender Vergrösserung der Prostata (Vorsteherdrüse) wie Harndrang, verzögerter Beginn beim Wasserlassen, schwacher oder unterbrochener Harnstrahl, Nachträufeln, Gefühl der unvollständigen Entleerung.
Wenn die Prostatabeschwerden anhalten oder zunehmen, ist eine ärztliche Untersuchung notwendig.
Bei bekannter Überempfindlichkeit gegen einen der Inhaltsstoffe (siehe Zusammensetzung) darf Prostagutt-F nicht angewendet werden.

Soweit vom Arzt nicht anders verordnet, nehmen Erwachsene morgens und abends 1 Kapsel unzerkaut mit etwas Flüssigkeit ein.
Halten Sie sich an die in der Packungsbeilage angegebene oder vom Arzt bzw. der Ärztin verschriebene Dosierung. Wenn Sie glauben, das Arzneimittel wirke zu schwach oder zu stark, so sprechen Sie mit Ihrem Arzt, Apotheker oder Drogisten bzw. mit Ihrer Ärztin, Apothekerin oder Drogistin.
Folgende Nebenwirkungen können bei der Einnahme von Prostagutt-F auftreten:
In seltenen Fällen können leichte Magen-Darm-Beschwerden oder allergische Hautreaktionen (z.B. Juckreiz, Hautausschlag, Nesselsucht) auftreten.
Wenn Sie Nebenwirkungen bemerken, die hier nicht beschrieben sind, sollten Sie Ihren Arzt, Apotheker oder Drogisten bzw. Ihre Ärztin, Apothekerin oder Drogistin informieren.
Ausser Reichweite von Kindern aufbewahren. Bei Raumtemperatur (15?25 °C) lagern. Das Arzneimittel darf nur bis zu dem auf dem Behälter mit «EXP» bezeichneten Datum verwendet werden.

1 Kapsel enthält: 160 mg Spissum-Extrakt aus Sägepalmfrüchten (DEV 10-14,3:1, Auszugsmittel Ethanol 90% m/m), 120 mg Brennnesselwurzeltrockenextrakt (DEV 7,6-12,5:1, Auszugsmittel Ethanol 60% m/m). Dieses Präparat enthält zusätzlich Hilfsstoffe sowie den Farbstoff Patentblau (E 131).
