Redoxon + Zinc enthält als Wirkstoffe Vitamin C (Ascorbinsäure) und das Spurenelement Zink. Vitamin C und Zink greifen über verschiedene Mechanismen in eine Vielzahl lebenswichtiger Stoffwechselvorgänge ein.
Ein Mangel an Vitamin C und Zink kann die körpereigene Infektionsabwehr schwächen. Vitamin C und Zink wirken auf unterschiedliche, jedoch sich gegenseitig ergänzende Weise und unterstützen die natürlichen Abwehrkräfte gegen Krankheiten. Redoxon + Zinc wird verwendet:
Da Vitamin C vom Körper nicht selbst hergestellt werden kann, muss es mit der Nahrung aufgenommen werden. Reich an Vitamin C sind Gemüse und Früchte, insbesondere Zitrusfrüchte wie Orangen, Zitronen und Grapefruits. Grössere Mengen Vitamin C finden sich auch in Leber und Niere, nicht jedoch in Fleisch, Getreide und Milchprodukten. Kochen, Wässern, Warmhalten und Lagern (auch Tiefkühlen) kann den Vitamin-C-Gehalt stark reduzieren.
Zink muss - wie alle vom Organismus benötigten Spurenelemente - mit der Nahrung zugeführt werden. Zink kommt hauptsächlich in tierischen Produkten vor, vor allem in Fleisch und Leber; in geringerem Umfang ist es auch in pflanzlichen Produkten wie Getreide enthalten.
Diabetikerinnen und Diabetiker, welche die Zuckerbestimmung im Urin selbst vornehmen, sollten einige Tage vor dem Test kein Redoxon + Zinc zu sich nehmen, weil Vitamin C das Testresultat beeinflusst.
Redoxon + Zinc Brausetabletten und Kautabletten sind zuckerfrei und für Diabetikerinnen und Diabetiker geeignet (1 Kautablette = 10,7 kJ = 2,56 kcal; 1 Brausetablette = 14,2 kJ = 3,4 kcal).
Wenn bei Ihnen eine schwere Nierenfunktionsstörung vorliegt, wenn Sie Nierensteine haben, eine erhöhte Oxalsäure-Ausscheidung haben, bei schwerer Niereninsuffizienz (einschliesslich wenn Sie Dialysepatient sind)wenn Sie gegen einen Inhaltsstoff von Redoxon + Zinc allergisch sind oder eine Eisenspeicherkrankheit haben, dürfen Sie Redoxon + Zinc nicht einnehmen. Wenn es bei Ihnen unter der Behandlung mit Redoxon + Zinc zu einer allergischen Reaktion kommt, müssen Sie das Präparat absetzen.
Patienten bzw. Patientinnen mit Nierensteinen dürfen mehr als 500 mg Vitamin C täglich nur nach Rücksprache mit dem Arzt bzw. der Ärztin einnehmen. Eine Langzeitbehandlung mit Zinkzusätzen von mehr als 15 mg pro Tag wird ohne ärztliche Überwachung nicht empfohlen.
Redoxon + Zinc ist mit Aspartam gesüsst. Patienten bzw. Patientinnen mit Phenylketonurie sollen das Präparat daher nur nach Rücksprache mit dem Arzt bzw. der Ärztin einnehmen.
Wenn Sie unter der (sehr seltenen) Fruktose-Unverträglichkeit leiden, dürfen Sie Redoxon + Zinc wegen dem enthaltenen Sorbitol nicht einnehmen (beim metabolischen Abbau des Süssstoffes Sorbitol entsteht Fruktose).
Arzneimittel zur Empfängisverhütung (orale Kontrazeptiva) und bestimmte Arzneimittel zur Behandlung von Allergien und Entzündungen (Kortikosteroide) führen zu einem erhöhten Abbau von Vitamin C. Bestimmte Arzneimittel, die den Knochenabbau hemmen (Calcitonin) erhöhen den Vitamin C-Verbrauch. Salicylsäurederivate (z.B. Acetylsalicylsäure), bestimmte Antibiotika (Tetrazykline) sowie bestimmte Arzneimittel zur Behandlung der Epilepsie (Barbiturate) vermindern die Vitamin C-Verfügbarkeit im Körper durch eine verkleinerte Resorption bzw. durch eine erhöhte Ausscheidung. Hohe Dosen von Vitamin C können die Konzentrationen von Cyclosporin, Indinavir, Warfarin und Disulfiram im Blut senken. Bei gleichzeitiger Einnahme von Vitamin C und aluminiumhaltige Mittel gegen Magenbrennen (Antacida) kann vermehrt Aluminium aufgenommen werden. Besondere Vorsicht gilt deshalb, wenn Sie an Niereninsuffizienz leiden.

In einer Menge, die dem täglichen Bedarf entspricht, dürfen Sie die in Redoxon + Zinc enthaltenen Wirkstoffe während der Schwangerschaft und in der Stillzeit einnehmen. Nehmen Sie jedoch Redoxon + Zinc nur nach Rücksprache mit Ihrem Arzt bzw. Ihrer Ärztin ein.
Sofern vom Arzt bzw. Ärztin nicht anders verordnet:
Erwachsene und Jugendliche ab 12 Jahren: eine bis zwei Kautabletten oder 1 Brausetablette pro Tag.
Die Brausetablette ergibt, in einem Glas Wasser aufgelöst, ein Getränk mit Orangenaroma.
Die Kautabletten können zerkaut oder gelutscht werden.
Redoxon + Zinc ist nicht zur Anwendung bei Kindern unter 12 Jahren bestimmt.
Halten Sie sich an die in der Packungsbeilage angegebene oder vom Arzt oder der Ärztin verschriebene Dosierung. Wenn Sie glauben, das Arzneimittel wirke zu schwach oder zu stark, so sprechen Sie mit Ihrem Arzt, Apotheker oder Drogisten bzw. mit Ihrer Ärztin, Apothekerin oder Drogistin.
Folgende Nebenwirkungen können bei der Einnahme von Redoxon + Zinc auftreten: Allergische Reaktionen (z.B. Ausschlag, Nesselsucht, Ödeme, Juckreiz), Asthma, Kurzatmigkeit, Lungenkrämpfe und gastrointestinale Störungen wie Durchfall, Übelkeit, Erbrechen, abdominale und gastrointestinale Schmerzen und erniedrigter Blutdruck.
Wenn Sie Nebenwirkungen bemerken, die hier nicht beschrieben sind, sollten Sie Ihren Arzt, Apotheker oder Drogisten bzw. Ihre Ärztin, Apothekerin oder Drogistin informieren.
