Die Wirkstoffe der Rennie Peppermint und Rennie Spearmint Lutschtabletten ? Calciumcarbonat und Magnesiumcarbonat ? neutralisieren die Magensäure und lindern die Symptome einer Übersäuerung des Magens wie Magenbrennen und saures Aufstossen.
Rennie Spearmint Lutschtabletten sind zuckerfrei.
Falls Sie an einer Unverträglichkeit von Fruchtzucker oder Haushaltszucker (Fruktoseintoleranz, Sukrase-Isomaltase-Insuffizienz) oder Glukose-Galaktose-Malabsorption leiden, sollten Sie Rennie Peppermint nicht einnehmen. Falls Sie an einer Sorbitunverträglichkeit leiden, sollten Sie Rennie Spearmint nicht einnehmen.
Hinweis für Diabetiker: 1 Lutschtablette Rennie Peppermint enthält 475 mg Saccharose. 1 Lutschtablette Rennie Spearmint enthält 400 mg Sorbit und Saccharin.
Sie dürfen Rennie Peppermint und Rennie Spearmint nicht einnehmen, wenn
Rennie Lutschtabletten dürfen nicht länger als 2 Wochen ohne ärztliche Konsultation eingenommen werden. Bei länger anhaltenden und/oder in häufigen Abständen wiederkehrenden Beschwerden muss ein Arzt oder eine Ärztin untersuchen, ob eine schwerwiegende Krankheit vorliegen könnte. Auch sollten Rennie Lutschtabletten nicht über längere Zeiträume ohne ärztliche Kontrolle eingenommen werden, weil es bei einer langfristigen Anwendung zu einer Veränderung der Blutsalze kommen kann.
Die Wirkung von Antibiotika (Tetrazyklinen, Chinolonen), Herzglykosiden (Digoxin), harntreibenden (Thiaziddiuretika), Levothyroxin, Eltrombopag und anderen Arzneimitteln kann bei gleichzeitiger Einnahme von Rennie Peppermint oder Rennie Spearmint beeinflusst werden. Es ist deshalb ein zeitlicher Abstand von zwei Stunden zwischen der Einnahme von Rennie Peppermint oder Rennie Spearmint und der Einnahme anderer Arzneimittel einzuhalten.
Eine Langzeitanwendung sollte vermieden werden, insbesondere wenn Sie an einer Nierenfunktionsstörung leiden oder Sie zu Nierensteinen neigen. Rennie Lutschtabletten sollten nicht mit grösseren Mengen an Milch oder Milchprodukten eingenommen werden.

Aufgrund der bisherigen Erfahrungen ist bei bestimmungsgemässer Anwendung kein Risiko für das Kind bekannt. Systematische wissenschaftliche Untersuchungen wurden aber nie durchgeführt. Vorsichtshalber sollten Sie während der Schwangerschaft und Stillzeit möglichst auf Arzneimittel verzichten oder den Arzt, Apotheker oder Drogisten bzw. die Ärztin, Apothekerin oder Drogistin um Rat fragen.
Für alle Anwendungsmöglichkeiten (siehe «Was sind Rennie Peppermint und Rennie Spearmint und wann werden sie angewendet?») gilt:
Erwachsene und Kinder über 12 Jahre: 1-2 Lutschtabletten nacheinander langsam im Mund zergehen lassen (Rennie Peppermint und Rennie Spearmint werden ohne Wasser eingenommen), vorzugsweise eine Stunde nach den Mahlzeiten und vor dem Zubettgehen, bei Magenbrennen jedoch auch zwischendurch. Bei Bedarf kann die Anwendung ungefähr alle zwei Stunden wiederholt werden.
Nicht mehr als 11 Lutschtabletten pro Tag einnehmen.
Die Anwendung und Sicherheit bei Kindern unter 12 Jahren ist bisher nicht systematisch geprüft worden.
Halten Sie sich an die in der Packungsbeilage angegebene oder vom Arzt bzw. der Ärztin verschriebene Dosierung. Wenn Sie glauben, das Arzneimittel wirke zu schwach oder zu stark, so sprechen Sie mit Ihrem Arzt, Apotheker oder Drogisten bzw. mit Ihrer Ärztin, Apothekerin oder Drogistin.
Folgende Nebenwirkungen können bei der Einnahme von Rennie Peppermint oder Rennie Spearmint auftreten: Übelkeit, Erbrechen, Magenbeschwerden, Durchfall, Muskelschwäche.
Bei Patienten, die an einer Nierenkrankheit leiden, können Komplikationen (Hyperkalzämie) auftreten, die sich in Übelkeit, Erbrechen, Schwächegefühl und Kopfschmerzen äussern. Falls Sie solche Beschwerden feststellen, sollten Sie umgehend Ihren Arzt bzw. Ihre Ärztin aufsuchen.
Wenn Sie Nebenwirkungen bemerken, die hier nicht beschrieben sind, sollten Sie Ihren Arzt, Apotheker oder Drogisten bzw. Ihre Ärztin, Apothekerin oder Drogistin informieren.
Rennie Peppermint und Rennie Spearmint Lutschtabletten nicht über 25 °C und vor Feuchtigkeit geschützt aufbewahren.
Das Arzneimittel darf nur bis zu dem auf dem Behälter mit «EXP» bezeichneten Datum verwendet werden.
Für Kinder unerreichbar aufbewahren.
