Rilutek enthält den Wirkstoff Riluzol. Es kann zur Behandlung der amyotrophischen Lateralsklerose (ALS) eingesetzt werden, einer Nervenkrankheit, die die bewusste Bewegungsfähigkeit beeinträchtigen kann. Rilutek darf nur auf Verschreibung des Arztes oder der Ärztin angewendet werden.
Rilutek darf nicht angewendet werden, wenn:
Sie in der Vergangenheit auf den Wirkstoff Riluzol oder irgendeinen Bestandteil der Filmtablette allergisch reagiert haben,
Sie an einer schweren Lebererkrankung leiden oder bei Ihnen die Blutwerte von bestimmten Leberenzymen (den sog. Transaminasen) erhöht sind,
Sie schwanger sind oder stillen.
Wenn Sie nach der Einnahme von Rilutek Fieber bekommen, kann dies auf eine Veränderung des Blutbildes zurückzuführen sein (zu geringe Anzahl weisser Blutkörperchen, was das Infektionsrisiko erhöhen kann). Informieren Sie umgehend Ihren Arzt bzw. Ihre Ärztin.
Informieren Sie ebenfalls umgehend Ihren Arzt bzw. Ihre Ärztin, wenn Sie nach der Einnahme von Rilutek einen trockenen Husten und/ oder Atembeschwerden bekommen. Dabei kann es sich um Anzeichen einer Lungenerkrankung (der sog. interstitiellen Pneumopathie) handeln.
Informieren Sie Ihren Arzt bzw. Ihre Ärztin, wenn Sie an einer Leber- oder Nierenerkrankung leiden.
Zu den Anzeichen für eine Leberstörung gehören: gelbliche Verfärbung der Haut oder des Augenweiss (Gelbsucht), Juckreiz am ganzen Körper, Übelkeit und/ oder Erbrechen.
Wenn Sie sich nach Einnahme von Rilutek schwindlig, schläfrig oder benommen fühlen, dürfen Sie nicht Auto fahren oder Maschinen bedienen.
Dieses Arzneimittel kann die Reaktionsfähigkeit, die Fahrtüchtigkeit und die Fähigkeit, Werkzeuge oder Maschinen zu bedienen, beeinträchtigen.
Informieren Sie Ihren Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. Ihre Ärztin oder Apothekerin, wenn Sie an anderen Krankheiten leiden, Allergien haben oder andere Arzneimittel (auch selbstgekaufte!) einnehmen oder äusserlich anwenden.
Wenn Sie bereits schwanger sind oder eine Schwangerschaft planen, dürfen Sie Rilutek nicht anwenden. Während der Behandlung mit Rilutek dürfen Sie nicht stillen. Sollten Sie schwanger werden, besprechen Sie dies mit Ihrem Arzt bzw. Ihrer Ärztin.
Wenn vom Arzt oder der Ärztin nicht anders verordnet wird, ist die folgende Dosierung empfohlen: 2-mal täglich 1 Filmtablette. Sie müssen das Arzneimittel regelmässig und jeweils zur selben Tageszeit (z.B. morgens und abends) einnehmen, und zwar vorzugsweise auf nüchternen Magen (eine Stunde vor oder zwei Stunden nach einer Hauptmahlzeit). Ist dies wegen Übelkeit nicht möglich, kann die Filmtablette auch nach dem Essen eingenommen werden.
Wenn Sie die Einnahme einer Filmtablette einmal vergessen haben, machen Sie normal weiter und nehmen Sie zum geplanten Zeitpunkt nur die nächste Filmtablette ein. Nehmen Sie nicht zum Ausgleich für die vergessene Tablette die doppelte Dosis ein.
Eine Erhöhung der Dosis auf mehr als 2 Filmtabletten pro Tag ist nicht zu empfehlen, da vermehrt Nebenwirkungen auftreten können.
Ändern Sie nicht von sich aus die verschriebene Dosierung. Wenn Sie glauben, das Arzneimittel wirke zu schwach oder zu stark, so sprechen Sie mit Ihrem Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. mit Ihrer Ärztin oder Apothekerin.
Wie jedes Medikament kann auch Rilutek unerwünschte Wirkungen hervorrufen, aber diese treten nicht systematisch bei jedem Patienten auf.
Wichtig: Informieren Sie sofort Ihren Arzt bzw. Ihre Ärztin, wenn Sie im Laufe der Behandlung mit Rilutek Fieber bekommen, Anzeichen für eine Lebererkrankung (Hepatitis) an sich feststellen oder wenn sich ein trockener Husten oder Atembeschwerden bemerkbar machen (weitere Angaben hierzu finden Sie unter «Wann ist bei der Anwendung von Rilutek Vorsicht geboten?»).
Folgende Nebenwirkungen können bei der Einnahme von Rilutek am häufigsten auftreten: Müdigkeit, Übelkeit und Erbrechen, Kopfschmerzen, Schwindel, Schmerzen, Magenbeschwerden, eine Erhöhung der Herzfrequenz und Missempfindungen (Kribbeln) im Wangenbereich.
Die Werte einiger Leberenzyme (Transaminasen) sind häufig erhöht. Ihr Arzt bzw. Ihre Ärztin wird Ihnen mehrere Blutproben entnehmen, um diese Werte während der Behandlung zu überwachen und bei Auftreten einer Erhöhung die notwendigen Massnahmen zu ergreifen.
Ihr Arzt bzw. Ihre Ärztin kann sich veranlasst sehen, beim Auftreten von Fieber eine Blutuntersuchung durchzuführen oder aufgrund von Husten und/oder Atembeschwerden eine Röntgenaufnahme der Lunge zu erstellen.
Bitte informieren Sie Ihren Arzt bzw. Ihre Ärztin wenn Sie während der Behandlung mit Rilutek irgendwelche Veränderungen Ihres Gesundheitszustandes wahrnehmen oder andere Nebenwirkungen bemerken, die hier nicht beschrieben sind.
Bewahren Sie Rilutek bei Raumtemperatur (15?25 °C), vor Licht geschützt und ausserhalb der Reichweite von Kindern auf.
Rilutek darf nur bis zu dem auf der Verpackung mit «EXP» bezeichneten Datum verwendet werden.
Weitere Auskünfte erteilt Ihnen Ihr Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. Ihre Ärztin oder Apothekerin. Diese Personen verfügen über die ausführliche Fachinformation.
