oder dem Medikamenten-Taxi nach einer Online Sprechstunde, falls gewünscht.
Verrumal enthält als Wirkstoff Fluorouracil und Salicylsäure. Auf Verschreibung des Arztes oder der Ärztin dient es zur Behandlung von Warzen.
Fluorouracil hemmt das Wachstum der Warzen; Salicylsäure weicht die Warzen auf und erleichtert so das Eindringen des Fluorouracils.
Verrumal darf nicht angewendet werden
? bei bekannter Überempfindlichkeit gegen einen Bestandteil dieses Präparates;
? bei Säuglingen;
? wenn gleichzeitig oder in den letzten vier Wochen eine Therapie mit Brivudin und ähnlichen Substanzgruppen im Rahmen einer Windpocken- bzw. Gürtelrosentherapie (Herpes zoster-Therapie) erfolgt oder erfolgt ist.
Zwischen dem Ende der Einnahme von Brivudin und dem Behandlungsbeginn mit Verrumal muss ein zeitlicher Abstand von mindestens 4 Wochen eingehalten werden. Die Anwendung von Verrumal zusammen mit Brivudin oder kurz danach kann die Wirkung von Verrumal verstärken und zu schweren Nebenwirkungen führen.
Informieren Sie Ihren Arzt bzw. Ihre Ärztin, wenn Sie an Diabetes, Durchblutungsstörungen oder Nierenfunktionsstörungen leiden oder wenn Sie Phenytoin gegen epileptische Anfälle einnehmen.
Verrumal ist nicht zur Anwendung auf grossen Hautflächen bestimmt (Hautfläche insgesamt nicht grösser als 25 cm²). Verrumal darf nicht mit den Augen und mit den Schleimhäuten in Berührung gebracht werden.
Sind dünne Hautstellen von Warzen befallen, so ist Verrumal weniger häufig aufzutragen und der Arzt bzw. die Ärztin öfter zu konsultieren, da es durch die stark hornschichterweichende Wirkung der im Verrumal enthaltenen Salicylsäure zu Narbenbildung kommen kann.
Bei Warzen im Bereich der Finger- und Zehennägel und besonders unter den Nägeln ist streng darauf zu achten, dass die Nagelmatrix nicht geschädigt wird und Verrumal nicht in das Nagelbett gelangt.
Wenn Sie wegen einer Herpes zoster-Infektion (Gürtelrose) behandelt werden oder vor kurzem behandelt worden sind, informieren Sie bitte Ihren Arzt oder Ihre Ärztin über die eingenommenen Arzneimittel.
Der Bestandteil Dimethylsulfoxid kann Hautreizungen hervorrufen.
Informieren Sie Ihren Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. Ihre Ärztin oder Apothekerin, wenn Sie an anderen Krankheiten leiden, Allergien haben oder andere Arzneimittel (auch selbstgekaufte!) einnehmen oder äusserlich anwenden.
Verrumal darf nicht angewendet werden in der Stillzeit, bei einer bestehenden Schwangerschaft und auch nicht von Frauen, bei denen eine Schwangerschaft nicht mit Sicherheit ausgeschlossen werden kann.
Sofern vom Arzt bzw. von der Ärztin nicht anders verordnet, wird Verrumal im allgemeinen 2?3mal täglich auf jede Warze aufgetragen. Verrumal darf nur auf die Warze und nicht auf die gesunde Haut der Warzenumgebung gelangen. Es empfiehlt sich daher, den Pinsel vor dem Betupfen am Flaschenhals gut abzustreifen. Bei sehr kleinen Warzen sollte man statt des Pinsels evtl. einen Zahnstocher oder etwas Derartiges verwenden. Vor jedem neuen Auftragen von Verrumal sollte der vorhandene Lackfilm entfernt werden. Er lässt sich ? falls durch Waschen oder andere mechanische Einwirkungen nicht bereits geschehen ? von den Warzen durch einfaches Abziehen entfernen. Es wird empfohlen, während der Behandlung in gewissen Abständen den Arzt bzw. die Ärztin wieder zu konsultieren. Erfahrungsgemäss kann es in Einzelfällen günstig sein, dass das unter der Verrumal-Behandlung abgestorbene Gewebe vom Arzt bzw. von der Ärztin abgetragen wird. Die durchschnittliche Anwendungsdauer beträgt 6 Wochen. Nach erfolgreicher Therapie sollte noch ca. 1 Woche weiterbehandelt werden.
Bei Säuglingen (<1 Jahr) darf Verrumal nicht angewendet werden.
Ändern Sie nicht von sich aus die verschriebene Dosierung. Wenn Sie glauben, das Arzneimittel wirke zu schwach oder zu stark, so sprechen Sie mit Ihrem Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. mit Ihrer Ärztin oder Apothekerin.
Folgende Nebenwirkungen können bei der Anwendung von Verrumal auftreten:
Häufig: Brennen, insbesondere beim Auftragen. In seltenen Fällen kann ein starkes Brennen zum Absetzen der Therapie führen.
Gelegentlich: Erosive Hautreaktionen.
Durch die starke hornschichterweichende Wirkung kann es insbesondere in der Umgebung der Warze zu weisslichen Verfärbungen und Abschilferungen der Haut kommen.
Wenn Sie Nebenwirkungen bemerken, die hier nicht beschrieben sind, sollten Sie Ihren Arzt oder Apotheker, bzw. Ihre Ärztin oder Apothekerin informieren.
Es ist darauf zu achten, dass Verrumal Lösung beim Auftragen nicht mit Textilien und nicht mit Acryl (z.B. Acrylbadewannen) in Berührung kommt, da die Lösung vor der Lackfilmbildung nicht entfernbare Flecken hervorrufen kann.
Bei Raumtemperatur (15?25 °C) lagern. Verrumal darf nur kurzfristig unter 10 °C gelagert werden. Nach jedem Gebrauch ist das Fläschchen gut zu schliessen, da das Präparat sonst schnell eintrocknet und nicht mehr ordnungsgemäss angewendet werden kann. Nach Anbruch ist das Präparat 6 Monate haltbar.
