Victrelis enthält den Wirkstoff Boceprevir. Victrelis stoppt die Vermehrung des Hepatitis-C-Virus (HCV). Victrelis muss stets zusammen mit zwei zusätzlichen Arzneimitteln angewendet werden. Diese enthalten die Wirkstoffe Peginterferon alfa und Ribavirin. Victrelis darf nicht allein angewendet werden.
Victrelis wird in Kombination mit Peginterferon alfa und Ribavirin zur Behandlung der chronischen Infektion mit dem Hepatitis-C-Virus (HCV-Infektion) bei Erwachsenen (ab 18 Jahren) verwendet. Victrelis kann bei Erwachsenen eingesetzt werden, die erstmals eine Behandlung gegen HCV-Infektion erhalten, sowie bei solchen, die zuvor bereits mit Interferonen und pegylierten Interferonen behandelt wurden. Die Wirkung von Victrelis besteht in einer Verminderung der Menge an Hepatitis-C-Viren im Körper.
Victrelis wird nur auf Verschreibung des Arztes oder der Ärztin verabreicht.
Victrelis in Kombination mit Peginterferon alfa und Ribavirin darf nicht eingenommen werden, wenn Sie:

Während der Einnahme von Victrelis in Kombination mit Ribavirin und Peginterferon alfa sind schwerwiegende allergische Reaktionen berichtet worden. Wenn Sie Symptome einer allergischen Reaktion verspüren, muss die Kombinationsbehandlung abgebrochen werden und Sie müssen sofort einen Arzt oder eine Ärztin aufsuchen.
Die Sicherheit und Wirksamkeit von Victrelis bei pädiatrischen Patienten unter 18 Jahren ist bisher nicht nachgewiesen worden.
Bitte informieren Sie Ihren Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. Ihre Ärztin oder Apothekerin, wenn Sie andere Arzneimittel einnehmen bzw. vor Kurzem eingenommen haben, auch wenn es sich um nicht verschreibungspflichtige Arzneimittel oder pflanzliche Präparate handelt.
Nehmen Sie dieses Arzneimittel insbesondere dann nicht ein und informieren Sie Ihren Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. Ihre Ärztin oder Apothekerin, wenn Sie eines der folgenden Arzneimittel einnehmen:
Nehmen Sie Victrelis nicht ein, wenn einer der oben genannten Punkte auf Sie zutrifft. Wenn Sie sich nicht ganz sicher sind, sprechen Sie mit Ihrem Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. Ihrer Ärztin oder Apothekerin, bevor Sie Victrelis einnehmen.
Die Kombinationstherapie mit Victrelis, Peginterferon alfa und Ribavirin kann die Verkehrstüchtigkeit und die Fähigkeit zum Bedienen von Maschinen beeinträchtigen. Die Kombinationstherapie kann Müdigkeit, Schläfrigkeit oder Verwirrtheit hervorrufen. Wenn dies geschieht, setzen Sie sich nicht ans Steuer eines Fahrzeugs und bedienen Sie keine Werkzeuge oder Maschinen.
Victrelis enthält Laktose (eine Zuckerart). Wenn Sie von Ihrem Arzt oder Ihrer Ärztin erfahren haben, dass Sie bestimmte Zucker nicht vertragen oder nicht verdauen können, d.h. wenn Sie an einer Unverträglichkeit gegenüber bestimmten Zuckern leiden (wie Lapp-Lactase-Mangel oder Glucose-Galactose-Malabsorption), sprechen Sie mit Ihrem Arzt oder Ihrer Ärztin, bevor Sie dieses Arzneimittel einnehmen.
Informieren Sie Ihren Arzt, Apotheker bzw. Ihre Ärztin, Apothekerin, wenn Sie an anderen Krankheiten leiden, Allergien haben oder andere Arzneimittel (auch selbst gekaufte!) einnehmen!
Nehmen Sie Victrelis in Kombination mit Ribavirin und Peginterferon alfa auf keinen Fall ein, wenn Sie schwanger sind (siehe auch «Wann darf Victrelis nicht eingenommen werden?»).
Ribavirin ist schädlich für das ungeborene Kind. Deshalb ist es äusserst wichtig, dass eine Schwangerschaft unbedingt verhindert wird. Da jede Methode der Empfängnisverhütung versagen kann, müssen Patientinnen im gebärfähigen Alter und ihre Partner während der Behandlung mit Victrelis in Kombination mit Ribavirin und Peginterferon alfa und während bis zu 6 Monaten nach Abschluss der Behandlung mindestens 2 verlässliche Formen einer wirksamen Empfängnisverhütung anwenden. Eine Kombinationstherapie mit Victrelis sollte nicht begonnen werden, falls nicht direkt vor Therapiebeginn ein negativer Schwangerschaftstest vorliegt. Während der Kombinationstherapie und während weiteren 6 Monaten nach Ende jeglicher Behandlung sollten routinemässig Schwangerschaftstests durchgeführt werden.

Nehmen Sie Victrelis immer genau nach Anweisung des Arztes oder der Ärztin ein. Bitte fragen Sie bei Ihrem Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. Ihrer Ärztin oder Apothekerin nach, wenn Sie sich nicht ganz sicher sind.
Victrelis muss stets zusammen mit zwei zusätzlichen Arzneimitteln, welche die Wirkstoffe Peginterferon alfa und Ribavirin enthalten, eingenommen werden.
Die Anwendung und Sicherheit von Victrelis bei pädiatrischen Patienten unter 18 Jahren sind bisher nicht geprüft worden.
Die übliche Dosis von Victrelis ist dreimal täglich 4 Kapseln. Nehmen Sie die Kapseln morgens, mittags und abends mit einer Mahlzeit oder leichten Zwischenmahlzeit ein.
Ihr Arzt oder Ihre Ärztin wird Ihr Blut regelmässig untersuchen. Dies geschieht aus mehreren Gründen:
Wenn Sie eine grössere Menge von Victrelis eingenommen haben, als Sie sollten, wenden Sie sich unverzüglich an einen Arzt bzw. eine Ärztin oder begeben Sie sich in die Notaufnahme des nächstgelegenen Krankenhauses.
Bei Fragen sprechen Sie mit Ihrem Arzt oder Ihrer Ärztin.
Brechen Sie die Einnahme von Victrelis nicht ab, es sei denn, Ihr Arzt oder Ihre Ärztin hat dies angeordnet.
Wenn Sie weitere Fragen zur Anwendung des Arzneimittels haben, fragen Sie Ihren Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. Ihre Ärztin oder Apothekerin.
Ändern Sie nicht von sich aus die verschriebene Dosierung. Wenn Sie glauben, das Arzneimittel wirke zu schwach oder zu stark, so sprechen Sie mit Ihrem Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. mit Ihrer Ärztin oder Apothekerin.
Wie alle Arzneimittel kann Victrelis Nebenwirkungen haben, die aber nicht bei jedem Patienten auftreten müssen. Dieses Arzneimittel kann folgende Nebenwirkungen hervorrufen:
Blut: Verminderte Anzahl roter Blutkörperchen ? dies kann sich durch Müdigkeit, Kopfschmerzen, Atemnot bei körperlicher Belastung äussern; niedrige Anzahl weisser Blutkörperchen ? dies kann sich als Infektionsanfälligkeit äussern, einschliesslich Fieber, starkem Schüttelfrost, Halsentzündung und Mundgeschwüren
Psychische Störungen: Angstgefühle, Gefühl tiefer Traurigkeit oder Wertlosigkeit (Depression), Reizbarkeit, Anspannung und Ruhelosigkeit, Schlaflosigkeit
Mund, Nase oder Rachen: Husten, Mundtrockenheit, seltsamer Geschmack
Magen und Darm: Durchfall, Erbrechen
Haut und Haare: Hauttrockenheit, Juckreiz, Hautausschlag, Haarausfall oder Haarausdünnung
Gelenke und Muskeln: Ungewöhnliche Schwäche, schmerzende, geschwollene Gelenke, nicht durch körperliche Betätigung verursachte Muskelschmerzen
Allgemein: Kopfschmerzen, Schüttelfrost, Fieber, Übelkeit, grippeartige Symptome, Schwindelgefühl, verminderter Appetit, Gewichtsabnahme, Atemnot
Blut: Verringerung der Anzahl von Blutplättchen ? dies kann sich durch erhöhte Blutungsneigung oder Neigung zur Blutergussbildung äussern
Psychische Störungen: Stimmungsänderungen, Agitiertheit (Unruhe), Gedächtnisverlust, Konzentrationsschwierigkeiten
Augen und Ohren: Augentrockenheit, Ohrgeräusche, Veränderungen des Sehens
Herz-Kreislauf: Schneller oder unregelmässiger Herzschlag, hoher oder niedriger Blutdruck
Brustraum: Atemprobleme, Beschwerden im Brustkorb, Schmerzen im Brustkorb, Schweregefühl im Brustkorb mit Atemproblemen oder Keuchen
Mund, Nase oder Rachen: Schmerzen im Mund, Zahnschmerzen, Schmerzen beim Schlucken, Nasenbluten, verstopfte Nase, Veränderung des Geruchssinns, Mundgeschwüre, starkes Durstgefühl mit Mund- oder Hauttrockenheit; Schwellung der Schilddrüse, des Rachens oder Kehlkopfes; entzündete Stellen oder Schwellung im Mund, Zungenbrennen; Gefühl der Spannung oder Druck in Nase, Wangen und hinter den Augen ? manchmal mit pochendem Schmerz, Fieber oder verstopfter Nase (Sinusitis)
Magen und Darm: Magenschmerzen, brennendes Gefühl im Magen, Magenverstimmung, Blähungsgefühl, Aufstossen
Rektum und Anus: Blähungen (Flatulenz), Hämorrhoiden, Schwierigkeiten beim Stuhlgang (Verstopfung)
Haut und Haare: Herpesbläschen, Kribbeln oder Taubheitsgefühl in der Haut, verringertes Tastempfinden oder verringerter Tastsinn, fleckiger Hautausschlag, Hautrötung, roter erhabener Hautausschlag manchmal mit eitrigen Blasen; heisse, empfindliche und rote Haut, manchmal einhergehend mit Fieber und Schüttelfrost; Hauterkrankung mit verdickten roten Hautveränderungen ? oftmals mit silbrigen Schuppen
Gelenke und Muskeln: Muskelspasmen, Müdigkeitsgefühl, Kältegefühl, Rückenschmerzen, Nackenschmerzen, Schmerzen in Armen oder Beinen
Harnwege: häufigeres Wasserlassen als gewohnt
Geschlechtsorgane: Verminderter Geschlechtstrieb, Schwierigkeiten eine Erektion zu bekommen oder aufrechtzuerhalten
Allgemein: Zittern, Ohnmacht, Energielosigkeit, pochende Kopfschmerzen, allgemeines Unwohlsein, Drehschwindel
Blut: Hohe Kaliumkonzentration im Blut, was sich durch Symptome wie Übelkeit, Müdigkeit, Muskelschwäche oder unregelmässigen Herzschlag äussern kann
Psychische Störungen: Zorn, feindselige Haltung oder Verhalten, bedrohliches Verhalten, Probleme mit Substanzmissbrauch, abnormes Verhalten, Verwirrtheitsgefühl, Suizidgedanken, plötzliche starke Furcht oder Besorgnis, Verfolgungswahn
Augen und Ohren: Bindehautentzündung, Augenschmerzen, Taubheit, Hörbeeinträchtigung, Schwellung um das Augenlid, verstärkter Tränenfluss, Flüssigkeitsaustritt aus Ohr oder Auge, anomales Gefühl rund um das Auge, rote Flecken im Augenweiss, Gelbfärbung des Augenweiss
Herz-Kreislauf: Herzkrankheit, die durch eingeschränkte Durchblutung des Herzmuskels verursacht wird, was sich durch Symptome wie Brustschmerzen, Atemnot oder unregelmässigen Herzschlag äussern kann
Brustraum: Lungenentzündung
Mund, Nase oder Rachen: Heiserkeit, Trockenheit von Rachen oder Lippen, schmerzendes oder blutendes Zahnfleisch; Schwellung, Verfärbung oder entzündete Stellen auf der Zunge; unkontrollierter Speichelfluss
Magen und Darm: Bauchspeicheldrüsenentzündung
Rektum und Anus: Juckreiz im Analbereich, verfärbter Stuhl, häufigerer Stuhlgang, Blutung aus dem Anus
Haut und Haare: Nesselausschlag, vermehrtes Schwitzen, offene entzündete Stelle, Hitzeunverträglichkeit, ausgeprägte Gesichtsröte, blasses Gesicht, Gelbfärbung der Haut, durch Sonnenlicht hervorgerufener Hautausschlag, Wundheilungsstörungen
Füsse, Hände, Beine und Arme: Gefühl von Schmerz, Taubheit, Kribbeln oder Stechen, Blutgerinnsel in einer Vene
Gelenke und Muskeln: Knochenschmerzen, Arthritis
Harnwege: Schmerzen beim Wasserlassen, Brennen oder Schwierigkeiten beim Wasserlassen, mehrmaliger nächtlicher Harndrang
Geschlechtsorgane: Ausbleiben der Menstruation, verstärkte oder verlängerte Menstruationsblutung, Gebärmutterblutung
Allgemein: Benommenheit, erhöhte Blutungsneigung, geschwollene Drüsen am Hals oder in der Achselhöhle oder Leiste, erhöhte Empfindlichkeit gegenüber Licht, Geräuschen, Berührungsreizen oder dem Geschmack von Nahrung
Psychische Störungen: Gefühl, dass das Leben aus den Fugen gerät; Sehen, Fühlen oder Hören von Dingen, die in Wirklichkeit nicht existieren (Halluzinationen); Suizidversuch; starke Euphorie (Manie) gefolgt von Gefühlen tiefer Traurigkeit und Wertlosigkeit
Augen und Ohren: Ohrenschmerzen, beeinträchtigte Sehkraft oder Verschwommensehen
Herz-Kreislauf: Herzinfarkt, Atemstillstand, Blutgerinnsel im Bein oder Arm, verminderte Durchblutung von Teilen des Gehirns
Brustraum: Atemnot bei flachem Liegen, schwere Lungeninfektion; Schmerzen hinter dem Brustbein, die in Nacken und Schultern ausstrahlen können
Magen und Darm: Bluterbrechen, Krämpfe oder starke Magen-(Bauch-)Schmerzen
Haut und Haare: Bakterielle Hautinfektion
Geschlechtsorgane: Verringerung der Spermienzahl
Allgemein: Schilddrüsentumor, Blutvergiftung, Schwellung oder Knötchenbildung in Körperorganen; Erkrankung, die zu fortschreitender Muskellähmung führt; Erkrankung des Gehirns, die sich durch Kopfschmerzen und Fieber, Lähmung eines Körperteils, Nackensteifigkeit oder Lichtempfindlichkeit äussern kann
Die folgenden zusätzlichen Nebenwirkungen sind während der breiten Anwendung von Victrelis in Kombination mit Peginterferon alfa und Ribavirin berichtet worden: schwerwiegende Hautreaktionen, einschliesslich Blasenbildung oder Abschälen der Haut.

Wenn eine der aufgeführten Nebenwirkungen schwerwiegend wird oder wenn Sie Nebenwirkungen bemerken, die hier nicht beschrieben sind, sollten Sie Ihren Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. Ihre Ärztin oder Apothekerin informieren.
Das Arzneimittel darf nur bis zu dem auf dem Behälter mit «EXP» bezeichneten Datum verwendet werden. Das Verfalldatum bezieht sich auf den letzten Tag des Monats.
Arzneimittel für Kinder unzugänglich aufbewahren.
Im Kühlschrank (2-8 °C) lagern. Das Arzneimittel kann bis zum Ablauf des auf der Packung vermerkten Verfalldatums im Kühlschrank oder während einer einmaligen Zeitperiode von maximal 3 Monaten bei einer Temperatur von bis zu 30 °C gelagert werden. Nach Ablauf dieser 3 Monate muss das Arzneimittel fachgerecht entsorgt werden. Das Datum, ab welchem die Lagerung nicht mehr im Kühlschrank erfolgt, soll auf der Packung notiert werden.
In der Originalverpackung aufbewahren.
Das Arzneimittel soll nicht im Abwasser oder Haushaltsabfall entsorgt werden. Fragen Sie Ihren Apotheker oder Ihre Apothekerin, wie das Arzneimittel zu entsorgen ist, wenn Sie es nicht mehr benötigen. Diese Massnahme hilft die Umwelt zu schützen.
