VIGAMOX Augentropfen enthalten den Wirkstoff Moxifloxacin, ein Antibiotikum aus der Klasse der Fluorochinolone, das gegen zahlreiche Bakterien wirkt, welche Infektionen am Auge verursachen können.
Bakterielle Infektionen des Auges können die Bindehaut, die Tränenwege, die Hornhaut oder die Augenlider befallen. VIGAMOX Augentropfen werden zur Behandlung dieser bakterieller Infektionen des Auges eingesetzt und dürfen nur auf Verschreibung des Arztes oder der Ärztin angewendet werden.
Dieses Arzneimittel wurde Ihnen von Ihrem Arzt bzw. Ihrer Ärztin zur Behandlung Ihrer gegenwärtigen Augenbeschwerden verschrieben. Das in VIGAMOX Augentropfen enthaltene Antibiotikum ist nicht gegen alle Mikroorganismen wirksam. Die Anwendung eines falsch gewählten oder nicht richtig dosierten Antibiotikums kann Komplikationen verursachen. Daher VIGAMOX Augentropfen nie von sich aus für die Behandlung anderer Erkrankungen oder anderer Personen anwenden. Auch bei späteren neuen Infektionen am Auge das Arzneimittel nicht ohne erneute ärztliche Konsultation anwenden.
VIGAMOX Augentropfen sind ausschliesslich zur äusserlichen Anwendung am Auge bestimmt und dürfen daher nicht eingenommen oder injiziert werden.
Während der Therapie mit VIGAMOX Augentropfen dürfen keine Kontaktlinsen getragen werden.
Bei einer bekannten oder vermuteten Überempfindlichkeit (Allergie) auf einen Inhaltsstoff von VIGAMOX Augentropfen (z.B. Moxifloxacin) oder auf andere verwandte Antibiotika (Chinolone).
Wenn Sie schwanger sind bzw. eine Schwangerschaft vermuten oder wenn Sie stillen, fragen Sie vor der Anwendung von VIGAMOX Augentropfen Ihren Arzt bzw. Ihre Ärztin um Rat.
Falls vom Arzt nicht anders verordnet, ist die übliche Dosierung 1 Tropfen 3 mal täglich (morgens, mittags und abends) in das (die) betroffene(n) Auge(n) einzutropfen.
VIGAMOX Augentropfen können bei Neugeborenen und Kindern verwendet werden. Die Dosierung ist gleich wie für Erwachsene.
VIGAMOX Augentropfen können bei Patienten mit Nieren- oder Leberfunktionsstörungen sicher angewendet werden.
Verwenden Sie VIGAMOX nur dann an beiden Augen, wenn Ihr Arzt bzw. Ihre Ärztin dies angeordnet hat. Ändern Sie nicht von sich aus die verschriebene Dosierung oder die angeordnete Behandlungsdauer. Wenn Sie die Anwendung von VIGAMOX Augentropfen vergessen haben, holen Sie die vergessene Anwendung so schnell wie möglich nach und setzen Sie dann das verordnete Dosierungsschema fort. Sollte der Tropfen nicht ans Auge gelangt sein, tropfen Sie nochmals.
Wenn Sie glauben, das Arzneimittel wirke zu schwach oder zu stark, so sprechen Sie mit Ihrem Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. mit Ihrer Ärztin oder Apothekerin.
Folgende Nebenwirkungen können bei der Anwendung von VIGAMOX Augentropfen auftreten:
Vorübergehendes Brennen oder Stechen, Jucken, Rötung, Trockenheitsgefühl oder Augenschmerzen.
In Augenpräparaten enthaltene Wirkstoffe können in den Blutkreislauf gelangen. Nebenwirkungen können deshalb ausser am Auge auch an anderen Stellen des Körpers auftreten, z.B. Kopfschmerzen oder veränderter, bitterer oder schlechter Geschmack nach dem Eintropfen. Wenn solche oder weitere Nebenwirkungen auftreten, bei denen Sie einen Zusammenhang mit der Anwendung von VIGAMOX Augentropfen vermuten, bitte unverzüglich Ihren Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. Ihre Ärztin oder Apothekerin konsultieren.
Wenn Sie Nebenwirkungen bemerken, die hier nicht beschrieben sind, sollten Sie Ihren Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. Ihre Ärztin oder Apothekerin informieren.
Um eine mögliche mikrobielle Verunreinigung (Kontamination) der Augentropfen zu vermeiden, die Tropferspitze weder mit Ihren Händen noch mit den Augen berühren. Flasche nach Gebrauch gut verschliessen und immer gut verschlossen halten.
Nur bis zum Verfalldatum (siehe Packung «Verwendbar bis») anwenden. Inhalt nach Anbruch der Flasche nicht länger als 4 Wochen verwenden.
Flasche nicht über 25 °C und ausser Reichweite von Kindern aufbewahren.
Eine Überdosierung von VIGAMOX Augentropfen ist durch die begrenzte Aufnahmekapazität des Bindehautsackes für Augentropfen praktisch ausgeschlossen.
Auch eine Vergiftung durch versehentliches Schlucken des Flascheninhalts ist praktisch ausgeschlossen.
Bitte nach Beendigung der Behandlung jede Flasche mit restlichen Augentropfen Ihrer Abgabestelle (Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. Ärztin oder Apothekerin) zur fachgerechten Entsorgung bringen.
Weitere Auskünfte erteilt Ihnen Ihr Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. Ihre Ärztin oder Apothekerin. Diese Fachpersonen verfügen über die ausführliche Fachinformation.
