Zyloric senkt die Harnsäure in Blut und Urin. Es wird bei Gicht, d.h. bei Ablagerungen von Harnsäurekristallen in Haut, Gelenken und Niere, sowie bei anderen Krankheiten, die eine therapiebedürftige Erhöhung der Harnsäurekonzentration im Blut hervorrufen, angewendet.
Zyloric darf nur auf Verschreibung des Arztes oder der Ärztin eingenommen werden.
Zu hohe Harnsäurekonzentrationen im Blut beruhen auf einer Stoffwechselstörung, die durch verschiedene Faktoren ausgelöst werden kann, z.B. durch Überernährung. Es ist daher auf ein Idealgewicht und eine gemischte, abwechslungsreiche Kost zu achten. Zu meiden sind Alkohol und Innereien. Bei Nierensteinen ist auf eine grosse Trinkmenge zu achten.
Bei bekannter Überempfindlichkeit gegenüber dem Wirkstoff Allopurinol oder einem Hilfsstoff von Zyloric.
Bei bekannter, schwerer Nieren- und/oder Leberkrankheit ist bei der Anwendung besondere Vorsicht geboten und es bedarf einer besonderen Überwachung durch den Arzt bzw. die Ärztin, um die günstigste Dosierung zu finden.
Schwere Hautausschläge (Hypersensitivitätssyndrom, Stevens-Johnson-Syndrom, toxisch epidermale Nekrolyse) wurden beobachtet bei der Anwendung von Allopurinol. Häufig sind die Ausschläge begleitet von Entzündungen im Mund, im Rachen, an der Nase, an den Genitalien sowie von Bindehautentzündung (rote und geschwollene Augen). Diesen schwerwiegenden Hautausschlägen gehen oft grippenartige Symptome wie Fieber, Kopfschmerzen und Gliederschmerzen voraus. Der Ausschlag kann sich ausweiten zu grossflächiger Blasenbildung und Abschuppen der Haut.
Es gibt ein bestimmtes Erbgut (das so genannte HLA-B*5801), bei dem das Risiko von schweren Hautreaktionen deutlich erhöht ist. Dieses Erbgut tritt bei einigen Han-chinesischen, indischen, thailändischen und afrikanischen Bevölkerungsgruppen besonders häufig auf.
Schwerwiegende Hautreaktionen können deshalb bei Menschen Han-chinesischer, indischer, thailändischer oder afrikanischer Herkunft häufiger auftreten.
Beim Auftreten von Hauterscheinungen setzen Sie Zyloric ab und informieren Sie unverzüglich Ihren Arzt bzw. Ihre Ärztin.
Zu Beginn der Behandlung kann es zu einem akuten Gichtanfall kommen. Wenn Sie entsprechende Symptome (stark schmerzendes, gerötetes, geschwollenes und überwärmtes Gelenk) spüren, nehmen Sie bitte mit Ihrem Arzt bzw. Ihrer Ärztin Kontakt auf.
Wird mit der Behandlung während eines akuten Gichtanfalls begonnen, so können weitere Attacken ausgelöst werden. Bei Vorliegen akuter Gichtanfälle vor Behandlungsbeginn sollten Sie deshalb Ihren Arzt bzw. Ihre Ärztin informieren. Der Arzt bzw. die Ärztin entscheidet dann, wann mit der Behandlung begonnen werden kann.
Bei wenigen Patientinnen und Patienten wurde unter der Behandlung mit Zyloric das Auftreten von Schwindel beobachtet, wodurch dieses Arzneimittel die Reaktionsfähigkeit, die Fahrtüchtigkeit und Fähigkeit, Maschinen zu bedienen, beeinträchtigen kann!
Informieren Sie Ihren Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. Ihre Ärztin oder Apothekerin, wenn Sie:
an anderen Krankheiten leiden,
Allergien haben oder
andere Arzneimittel (auch selbstgekaufte!) einnehmen oder äusserlich anwenden.
Wenn Sie schwanger sind, es werden möchten oder stillen, darf Zyloric nur auf ausdrückliche Verordnung des Arztes bzw. der Ärztin eingenommen werden.
Die übliche Dosierung beträgt 100 - 300 mg Zyloric täglich; in schweren Fällen kann der Arzt bzw. die Ärztin die Dosis steigern bis 900 mg.
Die Dosis 100 - 300 mg täglich (1 Tablette à 100 mg oder 300 mg) wird als Einzeldosis nach einer Mahlzeit mit genügend Flüssigkeit eingenommen. Bei höherer Dosierung ist die Anweisung des Arztes bzw. der Ärztin zu befolgen.
Die Zyloric Tabletten sind in 14-Tage-Streifen abgepackt. Sollten Sie einmal vergessen haben, die Tagestablette einzunehmen, fahren Sie trotzdem mit der regelmässigen Einnahme fort. Die übrig gebliebene Tablette nehmen Sie dann am Schluss.
Ändern Sie nicht von sich aus die verschriebene Dosierung. Wenn Sie glauben, das Arzneimittel wirke zu schwach oder zu stark, so sprechen Sie mit Ihrem Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. Ihrer Ärztin oder Apothekerin.
Es treten häufig Hauterscheinungen wir Rötung, Bläschen oder Schuppenbildung auf.
Folgende Nebenwirkungen können bei der Einnahme von Zyloric in seltenen Fällen auftreten:
Fieber und Schüttelfrost, Kopfschmerzen, Muskelschmerzen (grippeähnliche Symptome) und allgemeines Unwohlsein.
Schwerwiegende Veränderungen an der Haut, beispielsweise Entzündungen am Mund, im Rachen, an der Nase, an den Genitalien sowie Bindehautentzündung (rote und geschwollene Augen), grossflächige Blasen- und Schuppenbildung.
Starke Hypersensitivitätsreaktionen mit Fieber, Hautausschlag, Gelenkschmerzen und Veränderungen des Blutbildes und der Leberwerte (dies können Anzeichen einer Multiorgan-Sensitivitätserkrankung sein).
Beim Auftreten von Hauterscheinungen setzen Sie Zyloric ab und informieren Sie unverzüglich Ihren Arzt bzw. Ihre Ärztin.
Übelkeit und Erbrechen können vermieden werden, indem Zyloric immer nach einer Mahlzeit eingenommen wird.
Wenn Sie Nebenwirkungen bemerken, die hier nicht beschrieben sind, sollten Sie das Arzneimittel sofort absetzen und Ihren Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. Ihre Ärztin oder Apothekerin informieren.
Das Arzneimittel darf nur bis zu dem auf dem Behälter mit «EXP» bezeichneten Datum verwendet werden. Bewahren Sie Ihre Tabletten in der Originalverpackung, bei Raumtemperatur (15-25 °C) und vor Feuchtigkeit geschützt auf. Alle Arzneimittel sollten ausserhalb der Reichweite von Kindern aufbewahrt werden.
Hinweis für die Handhabung: Die Tabletten sind nicht geeignet, geteilt zu werden.
